No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted

It is a quote from Aesop. What is the last act of kindness you performed for someone else? It's the season where people consider this sort of thing. I have gotten togerther clothing and food for the homeless. My husband has helped our elderly neighbor who broke his hip take down his rash for months. My daughter at 5 has gotten together her unused toys for the local childrens home. Have you ever done a completely random act of kindness for someone, without them knowing or finding out it was you?

Last kind thing I have done is donate a small amount of money to a charity online that helps give children a Christmas. It wasn't larger enough to even mention or be proud of. I also donated food for the food drives several times. You are teaching your daughter to be giving and caring that is good.

Andocles and the lion, right? I try to do kind things for people, but I'm not often sneaky enough to do any such thing without them knowing about it.

I have no idea. I go by the theory that we do not have to remember our acts of kindness. I did get my husband who cannot walk that well, his coffee, but I did not think that would be considered as such, and I do sweep the floor so he does not trip over anything. But as for the specific acts of kindness, I cannot pinpoint one thing recently. It is just comes natural to me to do nice things without thinking about it.

Amen to that. It should not matter what you do to help others. It can be big or small and it is still a good way to show others that someone cares for them and is willing to help. I do random acts of kindness. I do not recall if any of them never knew it was me though.

Me? I have never done a kind thing in my life. I am actually quite an unpleasant person. Some people don't agree with me on that, but I think they are just trying to be nice.

Congratulations on showing your daughter how to live with the understanding that we are to help other people. Yes, I have done random acts of kindness that I do not like anyone knowing that it was me. I prefer to do things quietly and not to draw attention to myself. sometimes, in Church, I see people boasting about what they do - I think that this is so wrong. This is not just helping a neighbour but helping someone that you don't even know. You are a wondeful family and I wish you every happiness this Christmas
