Mylot abuser

People who abuse Mylot by copying someone elses response word for word and using it for their own just make me furious. We have a newbie on here who is doing this. From what I can see every one of "their" posts was actually someone else's response that they uses as their own. This is so wrong! They certainly shouldn't get paid for these responses. Now I know I can't mention names, but anyone who sees my responses on my profile page can surely figure out who I'm talking about. LOL

Tess, I stalked the offender in question, and of the ten responses I looked at, all ten were identical style plagiarism. I suspect his other 90 will also turn out the same if I could be bothered. I have reported him for all 10 instances, and I know you have reported him at least once, and my partner has had a go too. Hopefully he will be gone once Mylot get their act into gear. His stupidity amazes me: a couple of times he has come in at response #3 and copied a paragraph from response #1 - as if nobody would notice. Lash

Yes, you are right.. I am also, come across lots of postings (both the discussions and the responses) where i can find more things as you mentioned.. And you know, some of our very very senior most members also, will do this type of activity, but due to their experience, they used to take the essence of the particular discussions/responses, and they will make it the same by using the different words and also show the different dimentions of the same message.. If you go through the discussions under the Cell phone/mobile phones, you will find lots of duplications of discussions, even the same meaning of the discussions even you can find the 100s of discussions.. Some of them really may raise the discussions, as per they thought, but most of them, will do it after watching the others discussions.. See, everyone, may raise the discussions by any of the impact from anything, because from morning to till night, we come across lots of events, if anything will gets attracted by you, you can very well raise the discussions in those topic.. myLot will not restrict you to with any of the topic, you can raise the discussions in any of the topic between the sky and the earth, so, it is always better to start the discussions in our own admiring informations, even though those admiring may be after watching some of the discussions, but it should not be just copy those discussions/responses, you can raise the discussions, of those particular postings which you saw and you can make it the different point of view.. ie., if any one may raise the discussions about the Two wheeler, you can very well raise the discussion about the 4 wheeler or something else, and also you have prove that, your discussion is entirly differ from those discussions, and your discussions should not show any of those discussions nature, informations etc.. Because, when you saw something, in our mind, like that, in different view in different concept may blossem in our mind, this is the human nature, there is nothing wrong to post those idea here as discussions.. Make your own postings.. Have a good day.

And also moreover, mylot will remove the discussion/responses in this nature, when it will be in process of clean up the system, in the month end and payout periods.

I think the OP is referring to flagrant copying and pasting, an exact duplicate. Not just like ideas. It's not the same. It's not cheating.

I am on this guys tail too Tess and you may have already seen my paragraphs posted below many of his responses already. It is certainly wrong and such a waste of effort on their part. It would actually take them LESS effort to write their own comments rather than go to all that trouble to write word for word someone else's! It is just so stupid really.

this always happens I don't know why people think nobody will catch them doing it when I was new to this site I never did copy and paste other people's opinions I hit 500 onward and I still didn't I don't plan to either for sure if you reported this to mylot, they would do something about it but I wonder if they can also come up with a way so that it never happens again maybe just get rid of copy and paste function completely this way nobody can do it again

Oh no, please don't have them take away the copy and paste feature. I use this feature often as I write out my posts in a different program. From there I spell check and proof (or try to proof) what I wrote. Then I copy and paste it into mylot. I've lost several posts when I wasn't allowed to copy and paste due to either a glitch or mylot being down. Some of them were long. To lose these sucked big time. A few times I started over and tried again. Other times I gave up completely and closed the tab. Please, please please, don't have them get rid of this feature. Not everyone abuses it. PS The person doing this has under 500 (they currently have 100 posts, I believe). So they can't even use the copy and paste feature anyway.

The poster in question does not have copy and paste rights. To copy the way he is he must be typing it word for word but it is still copying even if he does type it. The stupid person is not even smart enough to change the words when he types his post and so is easy to spot. People who survive long enough to get to copy and paste are usually better than this. I would be disappointed to lose that as I compile my discussions off line and past them in when I am ready.

I don't mind the copy paste thing if its not abused like this poster did. But really, I don't quite know why anyone copies and pastes? I never have. Everything I post I type out. Am I missing some easy trick? LOL

I think the best that we can do is to put the - rating to use... because we members need to give our own share in keeping mylot a good site where there is no room for those who want to just abuse or cheat the system... if i see one that is doing this... i wouldn't have second thoughts in reporting that person to the mylot admin... via - rating...

Simply rating them will only affect their rating system. I don't think that reports them to mylot. So I rated this newbie AND reported their posts. Thanks for your input.

Hi Tess~ Hey how are you? I miss you! So glad to see you! I went to that discussion and reported the abuse too. I can't believe this guy posted and copied in the same discussion twice! But, so far both responses are still there! I just don't get mylot admin sometimes. And myklj is having a problem with some stupid troll and they keep deleting HIS discussions and he's one of the best guys here! They are taking the sides of all the wrong people! What can we do to get them to listen and look at the discussions before the delete the wrong ones? It makes no sense! They live the sh!t and delete the ones where someone is trying to protect themselves! Well, at least a number of us reported that azzhole! Hopefully mylot admin will do the right thing there!

It is against the TOS. So that person needs to be reported. Their is no problem with quoting someone but this person is not quoting they are plagiarizing. So report them over and over. Every time you see them doing it. The reason why the program was set up to make it so that newbies had to make 500 posts before they could copy and paste was to teach them to be original. This person needs to have that thought put in their little head.

Report them. Then go to the bottom of the page to the "contact us" section and report the user. This is flagrant cheating and the user needs to be banned from mylot. It harms all of us.

I saw who you were talking about Tess. Looks like he hasn't been banned as of yet. Hopefully admin will put a stop to this and soon. Thanks for pointing this cheater out. I've noticed a few copycats like this before. Heck, I even went against the guidelines and mentioned their username in discussions I started. I didn't care though. I wanted to warn others on here of these very obvious cheaters. And I'll do it again if I have to! I like this community too much for someone like this to try and ruin it.

I defiantly agree that the person that is simply copying someone else's responses should absolutely not be paid for these responses. I personally have not seen this person on the site, but I have not been as active lately as I usually am. I thought that newbies did not have the option to copy and paste? Now I defiantly not on this site just to make extra money, but its obvious that that person is just trying to earn a few extra dollars each month. Thats not what mylot is about.

Yea I didn't think they could copy and paste either. But if they aren't, then they are typing out the other people's responses word for word. I'm not here for the money either. LOL I haven't made payout in three months now. Life is just too busy. But, I hate seeing someone do this.

I think the best thing to do there is to report him/her to mylot. Its really not right to get what someone has worked hard for and claim that idea as his own. Well, besides that it is really unfair, it is really not right. We are not being selfish here or jealous of others but what we want here are just do things the right way. I guess mylot has really a very good reason why they should not allow people to copy and paste because of people like those who abuse mylot. I know that being able to copy and paste really has a very good advantage but it really depends on the person if he would be using it for something good or bad. If i were able to copy and past i would just be doing it before i post my discussion because there are really times that my postings just disappear and it it really hard to type it all over again. But to some people they find it as an opportunity to cheat the system and just use it to earn more with little effort. Well, that would really ba unfair because almost all mylotters here really worked hard to earn from their postings and not just do some copy and paste.

I've encountered like this before and I even posted a discussion about it. These kind of people doesn't have their own originality that's why they copy other discussions. These kind of people would like to get paid by using other's ideas and thoughts. One piece of advice, If it really bothers you, you can report the user to admin. That's what I did, the one that I reported got his accounted deleted for cheating. Keep myLotting. HUGZ always.

I think I know who you're referring to. I saw one of this member's responses. I also saw that the person whose response had been copied was VERY angry and said that he had reported this newbie to myLot. If he's not gone yet, he soon shall be! Apparently, he either never read the rules here or he simply ignored them. He'll learn... when you try to make a fast buck by cheating, you end up getting burned.

I notice someone has done it in one of P1kef1sh's discussions, Tess. I don't know whether this is the same person - and have absolutely NO idea why anyone would want to do it! It's just as easy to write something yourself, why would you go to the trouble of cutting and pasting someone else's? It's very weird. Maybe this person should be reported?

To me it seems that this new person, has no actual opinions of his own and has to copy others. Clearly, this is a flagrant disregard and down right disrespect to those who post legitimate opinions and ideas. I would be really angry too. I hope he doesn't get paid for that.

Hi Tess I have noticed someone doing this and it really annoys me as well. I regard it the same as a copywrited article. I cannot understand why anyone would be so stupid. I know you said you cannot name anyone but I just checked the TOS and it says you cannot flame anyone but if you named them without criticising them is that ok? Not sure.
5 Dec 08
who ever is doing that isnt going to last long around here :), the only thing that i can think of is to use the rating system and give him/her a minus im not sure what it will do but ill try

It is really an act which one should not resort to... it is a not a befitting behaviour of a gentleman...they should not be paid rather some penalty should be levied against them.
