Opinion Outpost Surveys

United States

If any of you are a member of Opinion Outpost for doing surveys I would advise getting out of it. I was qualified for a survey that was going to pay $70 and I never recieved it. On top of that, I never would qualify for a survey and have hardly made anything with them. I have been with them for almost a year and I am just fed up wasting my time. Anyone else have this experience?

wow, that's funny. opinion outpost is one of my favorite survey sites that i am a member of. granted, any survey site takes a while to reach a significant enough amount for payout, but in october i received my first check from them for $93.30! i was so excited because i had been saving up my earnings for a large check. :) there are alot of survey sites that i am a member of, and this is definitely one of my faves!

I can understand your frustration, but to be honest it often takes a really long time for special surveys to get credited to your account. I wish you had posted before canceling your account because it's quite possible that your $70 would have been credited to you late. I've had surveys credit for me three or more months after I took them on other sites; believe me, the "estimated time of crediting" doesn't mean all that much! One of the nice things about Opinion Outpost is that normally their surveys do credit instantly, but focus groups are a different thing. Anyway, I do understand why you're leaving the Outpost -- I've left survey sites which never sent me surveys I qualified for too. It really sucks about that $70, though.

Yes it does suck. But I can't do anything about it. I am thinking it was the company that did the phone interview. My bet is that the other people that participated with me didn't recieve any money either. You may be right about the crediting thing. Thanks

I am not a member of this survey group but generally i have found that surveys are a complete waste of time. first of all i hardly used to get one or two surveys in an entire year and then even after doing them i would get the message that i don`t qualify, so i withdrew from them and stopped doing them. since i am not in USA i hardly received any surveys.

I know how you must feel. I feel like it is a waste of time for some of the companies that I do surveys for. But some of them have actually paid me. So I do continue because I need the money badly. Even if its a dollar it helps.

I did contact customer service but they wanted the survey number and I guess I threw it away. I never thought I would have to contact them. Well, I guess I learned my lesson.

I heard Opinion Outpost was legit, but either way I'm not a member there. I have much better sites for earning, you can check them out on my profile. & you can check out my blog- it will be updated frequently with how I'm earning money online to pay off my debts.

You just sign up, and they will email you surveys to do. Mostly it is on what you own, what you buy, ect ... If you go to freepaidsurveys.net there is a whole bunch. That is where I got most of my surveys sites. Some of them pay really well. But I have had bad luck with some to. Good luck.

Well I have been a member for 2 years and so far only earned $5 most they say I don't qualify for after taking it half way through and lately they say they no longer are compatable with Firefox Browser which I use nor are they compatable with Opera which I use. I don't use Explorer due to to many spyware problems they have. What is with more and more surveys not accepting Firefox when they did the last three years. They are all going to Explorer which I will never use again as it caused not once but twice backdoor spyware to destroy my computer inspite of firewalls and virus protections. I am sick of Bill Gates paranoia snoopiness and his backdoor holes so anyone can get in and wreak havoc. I went to Linux and it and Firefox worked fine now Opinion Outpost and Greenfield both no longer will accept Firefox Browser and I cannot even access to get paid what they both owe me which is $25 from Greenfield and $7 from Opinion Outpost and all emails just say sorry we can't help you unless you use Internet Explorer. Why are they acing out Firefox as lots more people are using it instead of IE. But yeah I understand I don't qualify now either and the last 22 they say sorry you don't qualify most I never have. I am an older woman in late 50's and I think they discriminate against age for one. I have been paid twice with hits for pay and just got a $23 check Friday from Survey Spot and another $30 Paypal payment from Lightspeed. Plus $70 total from American Opinion last month. I am nearly ready to get paid for Inbox dollars $30 and from Send Earnings another $30 plus almost ready to cash out here on Mylot for $50. I got paid from Gather.com $350 back in October. So a lot do pay but I am turned off of Opinion Outpost now too as they seem to not want to pay me since they won't let me use Firefox now and Greenfield did the same thing.

Wow you are lucky you are making so much from the other ones. Survey Spot has never paid me anything. I am 42 so I know I think they discriminate against older people to. I never qualify for any surveys. Lightspeed has paid though. I never heard of American Opinion. Do they pay well? Just curious.

I use Firefox and there is no trouble with Opinion Outpost what-so-ever. Perhaps you use a version different than mine? I'm still using version 2.0.0.20. I don't want to upgrade to 3.0 because many of my apps aren't compatable? ~Garm

I am a member of Opinion Oupost and I've never qualified for one dollar. I have done hundreds of surveys for them. Thank you for this post. I will ignore their emails from now on. I may even unsubscribe. Maybe if enough people do that they'll change their ways.

Marty, I am so fed up with Opinion Outpost I cancelled just a few minutes ago. I was so happy when I qualified for this focus group. It was a telephone thing where 5 people gave thier opinions on a product. It lasted over an hour! They said we should recieve payment in 4 to 6 weeks. Well, that was in October. I was going to use this money to buy my son christmas presents! So you see, that is why I am so upset. I never made a single dollar with them either. So I am done with them. Others should realize this to.

Not a member of Opinion Outposts but CashCrate has paid me 3 times well over $200 total. The problem with survey sites is that after a while it's just too hard to get surveys approved for payment. And probably in a bad economy many companies will cut out paying for surveys too but taking surveys is a legitimate business for the most part but don't know about Opinion Outposts.

I am sorry you had that experience. They are one of my favorite survey sites & pay the most. I've received a few checks from them. I haven't qualified in awhile but it doesn't bother me much. I do sooo many surveys it's nice to have a break sometimes. You might want to try www.dollarsurveys.net (Not a referral link) they do pay, I was paid by PayPal.

Opinion Outpost seems pretty good, the only thing I don't like is that you can only log in once a week. Or was it some other site?..

I haven't had any problems with them yet. Yes it can be a pain trying to qualify for a survey at times. So far I made $32.40 in September and $19.00 in November.

Hi lagirl. I've been a member of Opinion Outpost for two years now and have earned a lot with them. With my experience, I think I know what may have happened. You may have qualified, but the survey status could be pending. I would expect that with high paying surveys like the one you took. Log in to your account and you should see 'Survey History' on the left column. Go there and see what the status is on the survey you took. You say it was for $70 so the point possible should be 700. If it says 'complete', contact them by email or phone and tell them what's up. The reason you are not qualifying for surveys is because of the way you are answering them. I was having the same fustration when I first started doing online surveys. Then after some trail and error, I found out how to qualify for surveys. I would put my site url here where I have two videos that show everything about qualifying, but it is not allowed.

That's too bad. but like I said, you rarely qualified for surveys because of the way you answered them. I could show you how if you wish.

Hi Lefty. Thanks for the advice, but I have already cancelled with Opinion Outpost so it is to late to research. I think I just so mad I didn't even think about checking it out. I still wonder why I never qualify for the surveys. I only qualified I think once with them.

thats a bummer. though i must say my experience with Opinion Outpost has been pretty good so far. cash out a few times now and check arrived in expected amount of time and even though i dont qualify for every survey i do tend to qualify for about every 3 out of 5 on average i believe. though i dont get a lot of survey invites from them..probably just 3 maybe 4 a month i think.

I pretty much washed my hands of half of those survey sites. It is a shame for those that get into these things. I don't trust a lot of those survey places. You get into these surveys and find you have wasted your time for nothing. Better luck next time.

sounds like a bit of a large payout for a survery site, any idea why they payout so much? is this website avalable in the uk?

I honestly think you must have misread something. I've been with Opinion Outpost for a while now (& have made over $100) but NEVER have I received an invitation for a survey over $10. And not only that, but OO is one of the most credited paid survey sites on the legit, I highly doubt they'd scam you. Are you sure you weren't confusing POINTS with DOLLAR AMOUNTS? (70 pts = $7)?
