hair before my experiment! - hair

I have tired this after I read online that some people are using this for their hair and the result was great! I follow the directions and did it for 4 times! It makes great changes since my hair was so shinny after the application that I don't even need to apply conditioner. On the other hand, my hair was falling out more than before I applied it! Have you tried using virgin oil for hair treatment? How was it? Have you tried trying something new after reading it online? I have an attached pic prior my virgin oil application!

Hi Cajun, I just warm the oil for 10 minutes and then massage it in my scalp and to my hair! Then after, I wrapped my hair with shower cap for 15 minutes-30 minutes and take a shower! As simple as that! ENjoy!

This is just too funny cappy, as I just bought some Extra Virgin Olive Oil today. I had intended to use it for cooking, but hey........it's always nice to know that something has more than one purpose! LOL Here's a tip for you I learned today from the tv. Eggs. Take one egg, separate the white from the yolk. Beat the yolk a bit and then apply it to your face and neck. Let it 'sit' there for about 10 minutes and wash it off. While it's setting on your face, beat the egg white until little crests form and after you've washed off the yolk, spread the egg white on your face and neck. Leave it on as long as you want but at least more than ten minutes. Then wash it off and you'll be amazed at how tight your skin is! And of course you do this AFTER you've thoroughly cleaned your face and there are no creams, oils or anything else left behind. Sounds like it would be good for light wrinkles and muscle sag..............I'm going to be giving this a try for the next few weeks and see if it makes a difference.

Hi spark, very funny indeed as my hubby asked me what smell is it..But, i didn't tell him it's the cooking oiL! hahahha! Ohh...thanks for that, I will surely give a try on this! Actually, I have tried white yolk in my face before since I learned from friends that it's good for pimples and that time, I have pimples but it irritates my face! This time, my face is clear, I will give this a try! Thanks for sharing and nice to see you around!

I tried it last night. The yolk didn't bother me, but the whites made my face tingle........but oh how good and tight my skin felt when I washed it off. I figure as long as I didn't break out in a rash, it was all good! LOL

your hair was falling out more than more than befor you applied? hey i need to try this. i never read something like this online.... or my wife. i need to try this. she uses EVOO (as rachel ray says har har har) i mean my wife uses that with rock salt and use to rub it on her face. what do you call that?.... exfoliate? i think thats the right word. she also rubs that oil and salt on her knees and elbows. i will try this on my scalp. my hair is slowly vanishing, though this is oil is expensive.

I have used virgin oil to my rough collie so that his coat would appear fuller and more shiny. I really found that this method works and I used to apply it before dog shows. I have not tried it on myself. I prefer my hair short.

I have heard that Olive Oil is pretty good on the hair, but coconut oil is so much better from what I gather. I hear Olive Oil is good in a pinch and just as good, but coconut oil is better.

You have lovely hair. I wish mine was that long. I have not tried olive oil on my hair. Many years ago I did read about putting mayonaise on the hair. I did it and it was kind of gross. My hair smelled like mayonaise, for days, and it was very difficult to get all of it out of my hair once I put it on. Olive oil is not as bad as mayonaise, but I don't think I would try that either at this stage of my life.

Hi ladym, Thanks. Ohh..I have tried that too when I was in COllege and one of my room mates introduced that to us and we tried it, I didn't like the smell too. It takes few days for us to be free from the mayonnaise smell! LOL! I didn't see a good result either! LOL!

Hi kench, It has no mixture, just warm it for like 5 minutes in the microwave and then apply it in your scalp and to the hair...then wrap your hair with plastic or shower cap for 1 minutes and then take a shower, shampoo it, you can skip conditioner if you want! DO not also do this often as I was thinking it's the reason why my hair was falling out! Enjoy!

i'm not using virgin oil..but instead a mineral oil to make my hair looks wet and healthy...it doesn't causes any bad odor..it's just normal..no odor the shampoo or conditioner which you have apply still reign in scent..so you have nothing to worry about using mineral oil..i love it..hope you'll gonna try it..and you'll like it too.

Jojoba oil is also good for the hair. But as with that, extra virgin olive oil shouldn't be used daily. I would say 2-3 times a week at the most as kind of a "repair" treatment.

I haven't ever tried it or heard of doing that before. I'm a little weary about putting stuff in my hair that I've never tried before. I've used hot oil treatments in my hair before, but didn't notice a difference.

Hi angel, I used also to do that in my Country since it is very affordable to go to a salon but I cannot afford here! Anyway, I guess I have to be cautious about experimenting something! Thanks for dropping!

I remember my friend told me that her grandmother used to apply virgin coconut oil to her hair when she was young... and that resulted to her very black, shiny, and beautiful long hair... i wish i did that when i was younger... but in your case... if your falling hair increased... i think that is not for me... because falling hair is currently my problem...

Hi aseretdd, It's my daily problem also! I do know how to stop and minimize this! Anyway, when I was back home also I apply fresh coconut oil in my hair but this time, I was using the oil we have in our kitchen! LOL!

Hi Checapricorn, I use olive oil soap and also as a moisturizer on my face from time to time so I guess it would be good to condition and shine hair too but haven't tried it myself. I always use some vinegar in the final rinse for extra shine. I have tried receipes after reading online and also tried baby bottom butter on my face as an anti-wrinkle creme which did in fact make my skin feel so soft but can't thinlk of any others right now. Huggles. Ellie :D

Oooh, I didn't even know that virgin oil is actually good for the hair - what I knew was that any kind of oil kind of helps the hair to become more glossy, but not to control hair fall. I don't quickly jump and try things out that I read from the internet unless it's a "reliable" source - at least something that holds authority over the matter - like reading things on the L'Oreal site or something. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Hi oyen, Ohh..that is a cool attitude! I know it's a risk without double checking the source but I am learning from it! LOL! I actually love the smoothness but the hair fall makes me skeptical to do it often! Thanks for dropping too!
