Have You Tried Licorice Tea?

This tea is just awesome. I know it can't do what I'm about to claim, but I lose weight whenever I include a cup of licorice tea at breakfast. It seems to satisfy my hunger. Go figure. Of course, it's very hard to find--usually small health/natural food shops will carry this tea. In any case, have you tried it?

I do remember having and enjoying a cup of licorice tea. I think it was called Egyptian Licorice tea. It was awesome! I just can't remember what brand it was or where I got it. Now that you mentioned it, I will have to look for it again. I seem to remember it being in a light brown box. Is it supposed to help you lose weight? I need to lose about 10 lbs and will make a special trip to the store if it does. Any idea what brand yours is?

It was Egyptian Licorice tea. The brand is Yogi Tea. And yes, the box is light brown. About losing weight I never did read the back of the box if it was for weight loss. All I know is, I did well on a diet if I started the day out with a cup of licorice tea. It's the only tea that tastes good to me after seeping it for a while. I even re-heat it and it still tastes good.

Maybe it works because it is sweet and tastes like candy. Thereby quenching your craving for junk food.

I don't even have a taste of it.However I want to have a try, beacuse I think that I am a bit fat, and you said that it plays a importance in losing weight. It sounds that it can also cure stamoch disease and cougu-variant asthma.

I have tried it and its delicious. I steep it for at least 15 minutes for a strong licorice taste. Actually it can do what you claim, and there is scientific evidence. Licorice helps to maintain a proper acid balance in the stomach, which can be a contributing factor to weight loss.

I belive I have but this was some 18 years ago. I remember my friends and neighbours that live in Sweeden and came to Macedonia fot the summer. They used to bring licorice for me by the bags because I loved them but could not buy it in macedonia. One year they got me a small wooden box with the tea it had enough for 5 a think. I didnt like it that much thats why I am not sure it was licorice. There is a simmilar tea for baby (it smells like it) and its to calm stomack issues my son used to drink this by the ton when he was a baby and used to have few sips. I dont like licorice now (probably over did it with the bags my neighbour gave me)

Licorice, I wrote it down. When I look for my Guava's, I will look for Licorice tea as well. I still need to loose at least 6 kilo's. I would like to loose 10 kilo's. But, first the 6. From your photo, you don't look like a person that could be overweight. Please be careful not to loose to much weight. People that are to skinny tend to get sick faster and longer then normal weight people. Thanks for the tip!!! Take care, veel liefs.

In the land where licorice is sold on every street corner I can't imagine you would have any problems finding licorice tea. Oooh, ik heb trek in zoute drop!!!!! Aaaaah. Welte rusten, Marga.

Ja zoete drop, heel lekker!!! Ja, you are making sense, hahaha! Here in Germany it is not as easy to find licorice. In The Netherlands, yes that is easy. Ruined my teeth within the first 3 years there. Never had cavities until I went to the Netherlands. Licorice was the blame, hahaha! Next week I will look out for the tea, I can use some. How much do you weigh? 55 kilos??? Groetjes , veel liefs. Margajoe.

That is one I have not tried. It may have something in it that makes you feel satisfied and full, so that you eat fewer calories.

I have never tried it, and I have never heard of it, It does sound pretty interesting though. They have come out with so many interesting flavours of tea and coffee nowadays that it's really hard to keep up with all the new innovations. coffee and tea sure aren't what they used to be.

I did buy a package of licorace tea once and I liked it. I did not drink it for breakfast, I usually have green tea in the morning. I got it at the grocers and it was a promotional deal. I will have to look to see if it is in our health food stores. I have used a throat tea that also contains licorace and that helped me with my sore throat, so it must be the reason for it. We do have two or three health food stores in our area, so if it is not at one, it will be at one of the other two.
