Apparently with the massive recall on peanut butter products because of Salmonella poisoning, the recall is being extended to certain dog treats that contain peanut butter/peanut butter paste as it is causing poisoning to pets as well. Here is the link to the article on the website Petplace.com: http://www.petplace.com/dogs/fda-expands-peanut-butter-recall-to-include-pet-food-products/page1.aspx?utm_source=dogcrazynews001et&utm_medium=email&utm_content=petplace_article&utm_campaign=dailynewslette Please make sure to keep an eye on the treats you buy for your pets, and make sure for now that there isn't peanut butter/peanut butter paste in them. Have a great week everyone!! Carryl

I wonder if that is why walmart's shelves were practically bare of dog foods the other day. I did not realize they used peanut products in the foods. I guess I can see it being in the treats though, as dogs just love peanutbutter. all this food poisoning is getting a bit much.

I noticed that too when I was at Walmart yesterday buying pet food. Their shelves were bare where the pet treats were, both in the dog and the cat sections. It makes you wonder what is going on in this world sometimes doesn't it? Thanks so much for the response hon.

You need to watch out from the makers of Sunshine products as well. My Max just recovered not to long ago from getting sick and almost dying fro their treats. They will tell you they aren't in the recall but I have vet bills that says otherwise.

That is a good thing to consider. I think that there are alot of dog treats that do contain peanut butter and we should be on the lookout. Having a sick pet would not be good. I would do anything to help my pet as I'm sure most of you also would.

That's exactly what I'm doing. Fortunately my two are super picky about their treats and turn their noses up at the ones with the peanut butter. Yet they love the peanut butter that I put on my sandwiches. Go figure! Thanks hon.

Thank you so much for this information! I appreciate being kept up to date on these things. I would hate myself if my dog got terribly sick because I gave him a bad treat.

The only treats my dog eats are the ones I lovingly make myself for him. None have peanut butter in it either.

I wasn't thinking of it either when I read the article. I hate it because I don't have any peanut butter and I'm craving it like crazy right now. Oh well...I'll just have to be patient I guess. Thanks so much for responding hon.
