father throws 4 yr old girl off bridge

In melbourne australia yesterday a 35 yr old man threw his 4 year old daughter 58 meters off the westgate bridge in front of her 2 brothers.
She miraculously survived the plunge but died in hospital a few hours later.
The father left a warning note on top of the tv that said "keep a clear head, you have a big fight on your hands and by no no stretch of imagination will it be easy"
just thought id share a brief bit of this story with you. it made me feel sick that someone is physically capable of something so horrific.

They said on the news that this man is mentally unstable...well, duh! I hope he doesn't get the book thrown at him for doing such a horrible thing to a child, and his own child at that. I can't imagine someone being so evil and hateful.

Wow!! This is becoming unreal. Personally I know things are getting tight and rough for everyone, but to do something like this is truly uncalled for. Personally I hope he ends up having to spend a lot of time in jail to give him time to think about what he has really done. It is Sad indeed.

This is horrible, I hope he gets a severe punishment. He couldn't be that mentally ill, he didn't throw himself off the bridge too - did he! He needs to rot in hell.

It is truly horrific. I really don't know how someone could do that. I have two nieces. They're 3 and 1 year old. I couldn't dream of hurting them or anything happening to them. I know that my fiance and I will always make sure that they're okay and be there for them. It breaks my heart to think that anyone could do that to a young child. It's the responsibility of the parent to love and protect their child. Not to throw them of a bridge.

For the life of me, I can not understand how people can kill children let alone their own. If he was trying to make a statement, he should have jumped off of the bridge himself. He was probably trying to hurt the mother of the child, by the way the note sounds. He needs to be fried without a trial. Too many children are dying these days at the hands of their own parents, the people who are supposed to protect them. It really sickens me.

I can't believe what he had done to his own kid. people now act crazy and it might worst than animal. Some kill their own children cuz of dress, can't get help. What in the world was he thinking?

The worst part is thinking of the terror that child went through as she was falling.
It brings back to mind some of the murders of children that have happened here at hands of their own parents either physically or by (at least in one case) hiring someone to kill the child, allegedly.

oh my GOD! I was wondering that we hear so many news similar to this one when parents do something like this. This so sad. I mean how can a father even think of hurting his child. Oh come.. its his child not neighbor's child. I dont really understand how and why do they do this.

Thats just sad. Why the little girl though. There was a similar case here a year ago. The day through all four kids off the bridge in that case though. Its just so sad how some parents are violent towards their own children.

Yes, he had to be a mental case to do such a horrible thing. To do this to anyone is horrible but especially your own flesh and blood. Yes, He had some other things going on with him.
I do not think he understands the damage and trauma he has afflicated on the two boys. How sad is that?

awwww man... how can someone be soo cruel.. i think something is wrong with the father... and i think the two sons should be taken away from him.... he's not in the right state of mind to look after small children.... im so sorry to hear about the small kids...and the sister dying in that way...... its sooo totally sad.... i hope he gets the punishment he deserves... and should be kept away from all children..

OMG I never heard this story!!...What a terrible thing to have happened..Obviously a very disturbed individual but as one other poster here said, not enough to jump himself!!...Those poor boys will remember this awful incident for the rest of their lives. I hope they turn out OK.

I can't believe that a father could even think of hurting his children let alond actually doing it! He needs to be put away forever! If I was this girls mother I think I would probably end up hurting him myself, so I'm not sure he would make it to trial.

What is it..? I acn't believe it how a father can do it to a daughter. It's really really worst and horrific. Just I can't believe it. I hope still there are some civilisation required on this world. Human turning back to the starting ppoint again. Why they have lost them mind, why they just can't maintain them mind as stable and love each and everyone in the world. Plaese love each other.

i can't believe that a father could do that ting to his daughter. i think there must be something wrong with his brain. what was worse, he did that in front of his tow sons. how terrible! i hope your country could give him heavy punishment.
and i also wish this thing will never happe again!
