Do you pig out on your vacation? Or, do you stick to your diet?

I haven't been on vacation or holiday in ages. But, if I were to go on vacation, I'd give myself permission to eat my favorite foods. Though, I'm sure that I would regret the decision to "pig out" for years to come. Do you pig out on vacation? Or, do you stick to a sensible eating plan at all times?

The original meaning of "diet" is "to live!" And, it sounds as if you are living well. The best diets are ones composed of good foods such as the one your wife is giving you. Restrictive diets only make people want to cheat. Thanks for your comments.

I am not a big eater, but whenever I go on vacation, I enjoy to eating. I guess it is because the food is being prepared for me and I do not have any clean up. I do not worry about a diet, since I have never been on a weight loss diet before. To me, that is one of the joys of going on vacation, the ability to eat, eat and eat and enjoy myself.

I try to be 1/2 way good on vacation, but usually treat myself to the ice cream and lots of foofoo cocktails while sitting by the pool. I do make sure to walk alot when on vacation. We always go to a beach somewhere, so every day I will take a long walk on the beach. I think that evens out all the junk I eat, doesn't it??

lol i have to admit that its really difficult to stick to any diet plan esp. on vacations because you are usually idle in these times and when you have nothing much to do, you are tempted to eat to treat boredom. so in my case, i tend to pig out, though in my mind i keep on promising to exercise the next day which i always fail to keep. hehehe

If I am on holiday I eat what I want when I want! Thats the whole point of the holiday to me haha! I do have to watch though because I suffer terrible with certain things I eat so if I have too much of a good thing it makes me ill!

I'm not on a diet and don't watch what I eat, so I guess that on holiday I'd just eat what I fancied, same as at home ;-) I must admit though that I have a fairly healthy outlook as far as food goes, and I don't crave junk food and treats all the time anyway. If I was on holiday I expect I would treat myself to some nice meals in restaurants rather than lots of ice cream cones and fast food.

When I'm vacation, it's a vacation from everything - including dieting. LOL I don't like to think about any kind of restrictions or anything like that whenever I'm on vacation.

Hello beautyqueen26, Nice to hear from you again! Well, as long as it is a holiday for me, I just break all the rules that I set for myself. I won't think twice when it comes to eating my favorite food. Maybe, I will regret later for not being able to control my appetite but well, once awhile... I don't think it will bring so much harm to my diet plan

When I'm on holiday/vacation (which is very rare!!!) I eat the food that I fancy at the time be it food that I wouldn't eat at home but the way I see it is that I'm on holiday and am there to enjoy myself so why worry about what food I'm eating even if it includes pigging out!! We all need to pig out once in a while, we cant always eat sensibly!

I don't have a diet plan either really, but my fiance and I do not drink dark soda's anymore, so when we go out we try to bring kool aid singles so that we can put it in water that we order. If we were to be on a diet plan I think we would try to stay as strict to it as possible but a little indulgence wouldn't be so bad!

I tend to eat what I want on vacations. I will try to make at least one meal per day a reasonable, healthy meal, but then the rest is a bunch of junk.
