Soft and chewy, or hard and crunchy?

Which kind of cookie do you prefer? I like a soft, chewy kind of cookie, always have. When I make cookies I'll even undercook them just a bit to make sure they're nice and soft, then when I eat them, I go for the ones that appear to be the doughiest! Yum!! The only way I can eat a hard, crunchy cookie is if it's soaked in milk to make it soft!

LOL, sometimes I prefer the dough to the cookie. Especially when it's that ready to bake store bought stuff. Those cookies are terrible, but the dough isn't bad. Not as good as homemade, but what is?

yup home made is the best ,correctamundo. it must be the age of people that still eat cookie dough, you look very young. now it would most likely pull my plates off my gums hahahahahahhaha

I have a partial plate myself, although yes I'm still young, but I still love my cookie dough!

Yes,I like the soft and chewy too. I just bought a box of chips ahoy big and soft cookies for us. I really like them that's why I prefer this kind. There are a few times that I preferred the had and crunchy ones but most of the time I preferred the soft and chewy ones. I like it most when my husband makes one for us sometimes. ;-)

Home made are so much better tasting! I try to make a fresh batch of cookies once a week or so.

Soft and chewy cookies are the best. I undercook mine by a few minutes every time. I don't like to dunk mine, so a cookie that can stand up to being dunked in a glass of milk is not something that I look for in a cookie.

Yep, same here. Dunking is too messy anyways.

I love mines soft and chewy, always! That is the best way that I can enjoy it! I love melt in your mouth cookies. If they are warm and moist, I like it that way too! My grandma would eat the hard cookies made by Oreo, I think. They would be very hard cookies. She loved them with hot chocolate.

I will eat Oreo's from time to time, but I have to dunk them in milk until they're soft. I just cannot eat a hard cookie.

hello katsmeow yes, another vote for a soft chewy cookie versus a hard crunchy overbaked cookie. lol i do as well prefer to enjoy eating a soft chewy cookie any time rather than eat a hard crunchy cookie. and i hear ya about soaking a crunchy cookie in some milk, there is no other way to eat them when they are like that. i haven't baked any kind of cookies in awhile now. i guess it was in December that last time that i have baked any cookies. i received a five pound cookie tin full of sugar cookies back in December and i am still eating on those. i will be glad when all of the cookies in that can are gone. lol take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

Cookies would never last that long in my house! I bake a fresh batch at least once a week, and it hardly lasts the week. Of course they do get a bit hard after about 5 days too, so if they aren't gone by then, they get tossed.

Soft and chewy. Anyone in the UK who's reading, Sainsbury's ones are the best! :)

I hate milk, never drink it. UNLESS I have cookies or chocolate cake. I prefer chewy cookies unless I have a glass of milk to soak them in. Some things I guess we never outgrow!

Oh, soft and chewy every time please! It's so rare to find a recipe which turns them out just right,

I like my cookies soft and chewy, too. To me they tast so much better, especially when they're still nice and warm and gooey. Yummy! (I'm hungry now haha.) I'm like that for a lot of foods, though. Like pancakes, for example. I don't want them super-battery but I do like a little bit of the doughey stuff still on the inside. :) And cookie dough is so good. A lot of times I'd rather eat it than the baken cookies themselves. (Though I do love when they're warm.) :)

I love them both actually. It just depends on the cookie: Chocolate chip has to be soft and chewey Sugar has to have a SLIGHT crunch to it, too soft is no good Ginger cookies, or snaps HAVE to be a crunchy cookie Peanut butter can go both ways, if with nuts be soft, if without, have a MED crunch I can go on and on, but I think you get the point :)

I like them hard and crunchy definitely because that's how a cookie is supposed to be...If i want it soft and chewy ,i soak it into milk or another hot drink....

I'm with you! I love the chewy cookies. Half of the time the dough is lucky if it makes it to the cookie sheet! lol. I don't like crunchy cookies either. My husband buys chips ahoy a lot and while they taste good, the texture is too dry and hard for me. MMMM now I want some cookie dough!

I prefer the soft chewy kind, though I didn't always. When I was growing up one of my all time favorite cookies was Chips Ahoy. They are a pretty hard cookie, which are good dunking in a glass of milk. But I don't dunk my cookies so much anymore so I'd rather have the soft chewy kind.

Hey kats! I like my cookies a little bit chewy and a little bit crunchy too! I don't like like them too hard and I don't like to dip them them in milk because I'm not a milk drinker. It depends on the cookies. I do like them to have a little bit of a crunch to them sometimes.

Well, if I am buying store bought cookies, like keebler or nabisco, I like the crunchy version. I have tried the soft chewy version and the taste just doesn't really appeal to me. But if we are talking homebaked cookies I like them a little bit crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. So I guess I try to pull them out of the oven just before they start to get to the crunchy stage.
