Do you give up?

We have all had days where our computers are going slower than snails. Where it seems like it takes forever for things to load. You feel like screaming "Get the lead out!" Do you just put up with the slowness? And for how long before you call it quits? Day before yesterday, things took FOREVER! I dealt with it for about an hour, then I just shut the computer off.

I cant stand a slow computer. I wouldnt of been able to handle an hour of that. I would of just shut it off and found something else to do. I make sure I always have high speed internet anyway so my computer never really slows down.

There could be rogue programs in your system. Many rogue programs are able to identify themselves as 'safe' to antivirus software. Give ClamWin Antivirus Portable Version a try. My daughter's laptop was slow. The use of several antivirus software, though they did find viruses, did not improve the speed. ClamWin found three other viruses and the laptop regained its speed. A word of warning - ClamWin takes a long time to do a complete scan. all the best in malware hunting, rosdimy

I deal with a slow computer most times since I am on dial up. I have recently upgraded to Fibernet which is faster a form of DSL but it hasn't been installed yet have to wait like 2 weeks since I am on a waiting list. I usually deal with the slowness because I know if I didn't nothing would get done. I am patiently waiting for my fibernet and I know once I get used to that though anything slower will drive me up the wall..lol My brother was used to high speed DSL and he is now on dial up he is very impatient and get so mad about things easier..

Lately, I've had some days like that with our computers. I think there is something wrong with the interenet connection at the house. I can't figure it out, however.

When my computer is very slow my reaction usually depends on my mood. When I am in a bad mood I get frustrated when the computer is too slow or when the internet connection is bad or non-existent. Sometimes I simply shut the computer off, because I get too tired of it and too impatient. When I am in a good mood, the situation doesn't bother me too much, and I just spend the waiting time on something else like reading a book. If it is a good book I don't really mind the waiting time, and I enjoy the book while I am waiting.

I can't wait even for one second if i feel that my computer is slow i just shut it down and call an tech person to solve the problem. I will go for high RAM and delete the un-wanted programs and try to make my computer fast.

I was having that issue earlier today. I just shut down the computer and walked away for a little while. When I came back to it a little bit later things were fine again. I am about to walk away again though because it is taking forever again.

I have that problem quite often. I'm not sure if it's my computer, modem or browser, Modzilla Firefox. I will often walk away and when I come back it is, usually, running fine. I sometimes reboot my computer or shut down the modem and restart them it that will often "fix" the problem.
