Although I was born into a Religious Family. I am not now a member of any Organized Religion, But the religious fervor continues to dog, even after 60 years. My recent Post entitled, "Muslim Belief" is fact of this. This post begins- "This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry. "The man who walks with God always gets to his destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose". This auspicious beginning hearkened me back to my childhood, and the warm fuzzy Religious feelings I used to entertain when in Christian Circles with Christian friends. For a short time I trusted this Christian Minister, I believed His (true story) But I was Hijacked by this Ungodly Fake . Hijacked and Embarrassed by his Hateful Lies. Its obvious Rick Mathes has an axe to grind with the Muslim Faith. I'll happily leave him to the grinding, while I once again apologize for falling into his Devilish Trap. I will Love and Honor the Muslim faith for ever more!

religion often masquerades as true spirituality, But in truth is just another power pay by sometimes well meaning people, but often by those with an agenda of their own. And that agenda often puts money in their pockets and power over others in their hands. This is why it is always wise to proof something told by the religious before taking it as truth.

Hi barehugs, I too was born and raised in a religious family and as an adult raised my children in the Christian faith. I felt strongly that the Bible was true, even if some parts didn't make much sense. As a young man I even attended churches of various denominations seeking to find the truth but eventually went back to my childhood faith. It took me a long time to realize that much of what was taught in the churches were fables and that true religion was a way of life. Today I consider myself a spiritual person but not religious. I still find that I have battles with this sometimes as it is very difficult to break away from indoctrination, especially when it occurs in your formative years. This is why I feel strongly that children should not be indoctrinated into any faith, but should chose for themselves when they become adults. I respect the right of everyone to believe as he or she wishes but don't like the idea of one religion spreading lies about another. I read your previous discussion and had actually heard the story before but being doubtful decided not to comment. Blessings.

Your wisdom is exceeded only by your Good Looks! Would, that I were half as beautiful! All kidding aside, lesson well learned. Trust A man of the Cloth, only as far as you can see him! "Grant I may never prove so fond, To trust a man on his oath or bond." ~ William Shakespeare ~
