Ed Panlilio for President?

A newspaper had reported that Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio is considering the plan to run as President in 2010 election. I think this is a welcome news for voters who wanted to see new faces and get rid of seasoned politicians. It seems like whoever and whatever politician we have voted in Malacanang, their government were always marked with graft and corruption. Maybe Governor Panlilio could do something about this never ending corruption in Malacanang. What do you think? Would you consider his candidacy if ever and vote for him? Is he the one that will lift once again the integrity of our government?

If Gov. Ed Panlilio will run for President I will not vote for him. he should solve first his problems in Pampanga before he takes a higher position.

Hi dorisday1971! This is a good observation. Though I think he had done something in Pampanga but there are still so many things left undone. Thanks for responding.

Although I find him a man of good credibility and standing, I still find him rather being unable to handle the problems of our country. Witht the current political situation where there is strong ocrruption in the government he would be swallowed in there and would even be toppled for no reason at all by these politicians that would be more hungrier for power than he is. For me I would definitely vote for him if he would run as a senator to give him more time to hone himself and be able to be seen by more people in the country. By putting himself in this position he could also view the real situation of this country and choose an ally to hone his position for higher seat.

Hi rsa101! That would be a good alternative. To learn the trade and gain political exposure as a senator. Thank you for sharing your view.

Can you state his ideas and plans for our country. Or at least his accomplishments? I don't have much knowledge about him. But if he is indeed worthy then it is an enlightening thought that fresh faces are aspiring to lead our country back to greatness.

I don't think it would be wise for Gov. Panlilio to run for president... for one thing... he is only popular in Luzon... i don't think people in the Visayas and Mindanao area really know him that much... aside for that... he is not really that cut out for politics... since he started bad by surrounding himself with people who are not at all trustworthy... I think he should just return to being an active priest... he can do more good as one rather than as a politician...

Hi aseretdd! You've got a point there. He just got away with small margin in winning the Pampanga governorship. In going back to priesthood, do you think the church would still accept him? Thanks for sharing your view.

Hmm, Im not really updated or that aware about our country's political candidates in whatever position they might think to run for, but about the country's long running corrupted system... Well, I think that it would take an extraordinary man/woman to be able to fight against the dictates of such overwhelming sense of power. Even with someone who stepped into office with the purest of intentions could and might succumb to the great feeling of power over the country and its people. However, this has been done before by a past president and hopefully, this coming 2010 elections would bring about that kind of person, whoever he/she may be and finally uplift the state of the country somehow..

Ed Panlilio for President? Oh please. Not another experimental candidate again. I agree that Philippines should see more fresh faces in the political arena but the presidency is certainly off hands in this matter. Maybe Panlilio is an upright agent of the church. Maybe he has the purest of gaol for the country. Maybe he deserves the position. But definitely not now. A not-so-experienced poilitician if hailed as the head of the state will just make us crumble. Let him hone his (possible) potential first.

Oh is he the new Eddie Villanueva? He, better than most people, should know that he can't serve two masters. I believe ethical, spiritual man may hold office (and I do prefer our leaders to be ethical and spiritual), but not pastors and priests. There's a conflict of interest and I think to turn their back on their true, and the way I look at it, much higher calling (no matter how they justify it - serving people=serving God, blah blah - that's exactly what they're doing, imo. When it comes to God, there are no compromises.) is sacrilege. No, he's out of the question for me.

Hi tholitz, good day to you my kababayan. Well if Gov.Ed Panlilio, will run in this coming election for 2010, he has a very low chance to win the candedacy because all of the people that this Priest have no expirience to politics even he is a good person. Even you are very good people and kind, as long as you do not have knowledge or expirience in government, you no longer be accepted in MALACANANG. And as i am thinking may be that Gov.Ed Panlilio will run to be our president, he will win in his province/city Pampanga because that is his Balwarte ,but not only in Pampanga will vote in order for him to win, because all of the province/city in the Philippines will vote, which means in short that he have no chance in that place in government. But i think Sen. chiz escudero have a great chance to be our next president here in the Philippines for the reason he is very popular to all people nowadays and for the reason he already have a great standing status in government, and as i know this man have the enough expirience and knowledge in order to control our country Philippines. But if sem.chiz escudero will not run for president, i think he will run to be a vice president. . . I also thinking that manny villar will also run to be next president, and as i know this man will earn alot of voters because of hir program to OFW that are abuse in many other country and for the reason he also have a good expirience in controlling government. That's all my response! I am hoping i give a good one. Happy posting and happy earning. . . Good luck to our earning career. . . Mabuhay! ! !
