Would you call 911 if your burger was smaller, or you were shorted a Mcnugget?

Apparently some people are doing this. I heard this on the news this morning and I thought it was ridulous. I can understand the dispatcher taking it serious and sending someone out to resolve the matter so it will not escalate into a physical fight, but come on people. If you are not happy with the cost/quantity of food item either ask for your money back or loudly explain to every customer in line and out the door why you would never waste your money there again....don't tie up our law enforcement. Think about it....they could be tracking down a murderer and this person is worried about a Whopper!!!! Common sense. One dispatcher on the segment actually told the woman she was not sending a deputy out to make sure she got her burger. Way to go lady. Ridiculous. How about you guys, how do you feel about this?

I agree, kinda like calling the fire department as a prank and they have to come out anyways....I agree fines should have been made.

As you're explaining it, it sounds either as a joke or something is missing in the story. Was the motive of the call the fact that the burger was small or that the person was getting violent because of that? Any of the two reasons is ridiculous enough but I've heard some wird stories too regarding nutjobs that are mentally away and are the cause of these type of situations.

I heard the 911 tape and it specifically was because the one was shorted extra shrimp with her fried rice at one restaurant. and the other was because they did not make the burger as she asked. Nothing violent.

I think they should send the police right out, lickity split...to arrest the dumb*ss that called in the first place. They should be charged with something, wasting an officers time, misuse of the 911 number, something and tossed in jail for the night...maybe they'd quit acting like an idiot. They would have to call 911 after I beat the snot out of the idiot who called 911 because they didn't get enough pickles on their burger.

I do think this is ridiculous. Actually, I would go as far as saying it was criminal. To thin that there might actually be someone in trouble or in need and these fools are calling for this trivial nonsense. I do believe here, where I live, if you call 911 for something as ridiculous as this and they respond you can actually be given a ticket. I think that's how it should be.

This is the most ridiculous thing i have heard of. I cant believe that people actually call the police because they had a fast food error. How stupid can you be? I am in a wheelchair and call them sometimes when my chair is malfunctioning or I have fallen down and I even feel guilty about that. I would never call them for something this insane.I hope those people get find.

I think somebody is DEFINITELY short of a few mcNuggets here () if they'd be so dumb as to call an EMERGENCIES ONLY Number over a straightforward customer service issue! Ask to Talk with a supervisor in the Branch, write, phone,or email the company afterwards, but get a grip on reality and don't tie up Emergency Operator's time with Dumba$$ Stupidity! There should be fines for this nonsense..

That is the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard!! There are much better/cheaper ways to resolve issues then calling 911 because you feel jipped over your food. Then STOP GOING THERE. I have worked in the food service industry for a number of years. I can see going once, having a bad experience, but giving it a second try. I know someone that went out to eat somewhere 4 different times, and EVERYTIME had something to complain about. The thing that I don't get about that is why go back 4 times if you had horrible food/horrible service/horrible experience for whatever reason. That's not as bad as calling 911, but still a dumb thing to do.

Was this actually true? Maybe it was a prank call from someone with some serious issues. Have you ever heard anyone say that most of what is on news or newspapers is a lie? I have heard that but I dont worry about it because the news is so depressiing nowadays that I try not to watch it anymore.

People never cease to amaze me. It really sounds like a joke. I would have to say that I would be upset if my nuggets were shorted though, I mean, can you ever get enough?

well, i'm not sure how it works in the states, but if you are not getting what you were promised to for your money, isn't it supposed to call the manager, make a complaint and f he doesn't oblige and the law is on your side, state what happened to the proper authorities, like local police, and not a emergency line? being a mcnugget short hardly seems lke an emergency to me...

Absolutely no way, there are so many more mature ways to handle situations like that. geez. its pretty pathetic how people are these days. If you are dissatisfied with a restaurant, then EAT AT HOME!!!! :) I'm just saying.

ridiculous, totally ridiculous. calling 911 for that whopper. isn't that person too much puffed and feel that he or she needs to be given that much important for just the whopper to have the 911 dispatcher come over to her for that one ridiculous concern of that person. i just wonder where is the common sense of this person. he just does not seem to have that at all.

It just goes to show what some people think is a good idea at the time. I read about this, the lady who was a shrimp short. I think it is more like she was a few brain cells short to call 911. This is a ridiculous waste of police time. There are much more sensible ways to resolve a conflict such as this. But at the end of the day you have to laugh at some people

No that is so ridicoulouse and silly I heard about some one who did this a few months back. She actually got in trouble and got a ticket because she called twice. They said she was abusing the system.
