Some people tell that it's healthier to work out in a Non-AC Gym where we get to sweat more and burn more fat. But I feel, in AC Gym we get to exercise for longer hours since we are not exhausted fast. What is your opinion?

Haha, it's true what those people say. It is healtheir in non-AC conditions. I would usually have a run at the stadium or the pak but sometimes i'd got to the AC gym because i like running on the threadmill...I don't know about the not feelling exhausted fast because i do. haha, ac or no ac....ohwells, exercising is jus exercising to me regardless of the place i'm in. ^_^ take care~

In my opinion Mimpi, it depends on the purpose of going to the Gym. If the intention is to burn fat, then i would feel it's best to go to a Non-AC gym. If it's muscle building and regular exercise then an AC gym is great. The weather also plays a role in it. In the summer and in humid place were we tend to sweat more ,an AC gym is good. My preference: I don't think i have fat to burn, so it's the AC gym.

Good point there! But tell me suppose two people, with similar BMI, A and B, go to an AC and NON AX gym respectively. They both work out by the same standards. A sweats and B does not for the simple reason of the comfort level being in an AC gym. And B still has energy to workout while A is exhausted. Which one do you approve?

Frankly, it's difficult to really answer. There are some who sasy that sweating consumes calories. So the more you sweat the better from a weight loss point of view. On the other hand there are those who do not agree with that, and sweating only releases water from the body and cools the body. I would say that a good comfortable temprature certainly helps in exercising more.

Sweating does require energy and by sweating we are burning it. But my point is in A gym you take long to sweat and you get to do more workout! I think, a professional could answer this better. And Sauna, as you were saying, helps in calorie burning by opening up the sweat glands. So I am confused now.

I have not gone to a Gym so far.If I do go, I would prefer an AC gym for one simple reason-I have a systemic health problem and this gets aggravated with fluid loss. I dread it [in fact last year I got recurrent bouts of this infection [ the doctor had told me long back that I ahev to keep it at bay till the end of my life with lots of water intake.] So, I would not go in for the sweating exercise.

Firstly, you must not work out without a medical expertise supervision and second;y with the summer at our doorsteps you must take care of yourself. We can always avoid going to gym by just adopting a healthy life style. Daily morning walk and judicious diet help a lot.

Hi! Although I have not have the opportunity to work in an AC Gym, yet I feel it would be better to work in a non-Ac Gym. Sweating is very important when you are working out and in an AC environment, you may not sweat, which is not good for our health, I suppose. Moreover, working for longer hours in a Gym, beyond a limit, may not be conducive for our health.

Of course, I am talking about working out under expert supervision and all good gyms come with expertised medical supervision. IN AC ym you do sweat Deepak but it takes longer hours and you get to exercise within comfort level for longer hours! Seat requires energy and in AC or non AC both you are having it ultimately.

For me I prefer a non-AC gym. Actually I prefer playing sports as exercise and not be bound by machines and trainers. The fresh air would be my 'AC'.^_^ Hmm, I exercise because I want to perspire and having AC just would want to make me sit down and cool off so I prefer the non-AC gym. Longer hours in AC gym would just be equal to the amount of work in the non-AC. It just takes longer to burn more fat. So I guess its just the same. It would be just up to the person if he wants to take it at a slow relaxing pace or really sweat it out.

That makes much sense dear.

AC in summer, Non-AC in winter. And AC not on full blast cos that would take away the purpose of sweating n burning. Ideally, if we over-perspire, we will tend to get tired sooner and will not be able to give our optimum to the workout. So, moderate temperature settings would be perfect during a workout!

Well i have only one thing to say about this, and that is: no gym at all. I really do not understand all the gym theme. God created nature and we should enjoy it. Go outside people..yes it has a natural air condition..lol But' you can do outside everything that is being done in the gym. It costs less, it solves alote of mood peoblems and there are alote of god's gifts to enjoy.

hi there, hope u doing good...and enjoying urself.. while i would absolutely vote for ana ac gym or gyming in an open space no indoors. Due to workout people sweat a lot and it stinks so the person exercising besides mite as well collapse due to the same and the work out areas are not spacious to atleast have individual space to execise..so if its open ground and big one so tht one can actually exercise in fresh air even thts the best method...wht say

Hey mimpi! I agree with you! Who would want to work out in a non-ac gym? That would be horrible! You wouldn't be able to workout for long, it would smell awful and I really don't think it would be healthy! You still can work up quite a sweat even with ac! Who want's to workout where it already is hot! You could really put yourself at risk working out in that type of environment!

It could be actually fatal for some people working out in n on-Ac and with non-supportive physical conditions. We just had a patient who is the victim of the same. I think, in AC we require more working out to produce the sweat but out physiology is working with all vital signs rejuvenated.

Hi Mimpi!I prefer AC gyms because the climate in the part of India where I reside is very hot and humid. One keeps sweating throughout the day here.More over I think the weigght we lose by sweating is a temporary loss and we regain it soon on drinking water again. So its not worth the trouble.More over I want to tone the body rather than find way to fast weight loss.

Same here. Its so sultry here that non AC gym would stress you out soon. As to the gaining the weight on hydrating your body, I am not sure.

I think its completely depends on whether you want to burn fat or build your musles because Non AC gyms, you sweat a lot and so chances of burning fat is more and AC gyms - if you want to work out for longer hours to build your musles, this works for you. In my case i want to burn my fat and prefer Non AC and some times i exercise at home itself, in a room where AC is not available and even though, i sweat a lot doing this way, i try to exercise for longer hours gives pauses in my work out.

I don't think it's healthier to NOT have AC in a gym at all. As long as it's no set too low, it helps regulate overall temperature, allows us to be active for longer periods of time and also assists with air circulation. Then again, a good number of ceiling fans could arguably achieve the same result!

So you think AC is healthier? Even I think so. For we can exercise more getting less exhausted. Sweating is a feel good factor that we have really burned fat but does it really matter that you sweat or not seat as long as you are into it?

Hiya mimpz! I'll choose a AC gym, I'm not sure which is healthier, but I find it hard to breath when it's too hot because of my asthma and I think an AC gym will be better for me.

well i think a non ac gym is better than a ac gym because there u can sweet more . also it depends y r u going to a gym , if u want to loose weight then the non ac gym is the best , but if u want to exercise just to maintain ur weight then u can work out in a ac gym.

Thanks Kapil and your response reaffirms Alok's response. I think seating requires a lot of our energy and more fast you sweat more energy you require. That could be the reason why we must go to a non Ac gym when need to reduce weight. But I think, AC gym gives us more energy to workout for longer hours!
