I am going on 40 years old and I feel like I am not getting older. Is 40 considered as older?

Yes 40 is old! I remember being 40, and remembering when I was 20. At 20, I was thinking that when I was 40 I would have it," made in the shade." But alas, at 40 I was so disappointed that my house still had mortgage payments, my car wasn't paid off and my kids were needing money to go to University. Now I'm 75, and healthy and young. I own 2 houses outright, I spend the winter in the south and the summer in the north. I have money in the bank and 2 pensions coming in every month. My Kids are married and away. My houses are all paid off I've never been younger is spirit! Life is Wonderful isn't it?

The age of us mostly depends on our mind only. If you think yourself older, then you still becoming older and though you are older, think as young, you may find that 4-5 years are reduced like. But for the others, if we cross 40+, we are older only and we need not bother about that also.

Old keeps change every 10 years or so. As I reach so called mile stone I notice that old jumps another 10 years. When I was 30 I thought 50 was old then when I got close to 50 I decided that 60 was old now that I'm almost 65 and I have noticed that old has moved to 70 and so it goes. Old age just keeps moving away from me so I'm not getting old.

That depends on which country the person comes from. If they come from The Gambia then age 40 would be old but if they come from the USA 40 would not be old. That is because life expectancy differs depending on the country. Like people that live in wealthy countries in Europe have long life expectancy whilst people that live in one of the 20 poorest countries might die at a younger age due to disease, war or natural disaster.

I don't think so. As long as you feel young and energetic then age doesn't matter. Hehe! Happy MyLotting!

I always take age as a number but yes, you're getting older, so does everyone else. Don't worry yourself too much. Being older mean being more mature and wise, nothing else. Just enjoy it.

Naw...you're not 'older'...unless you're talking to somebody in their teens or younger. I'm almost 60, and one thing I've noticed is that the older I get, the younger people seem lol. While I might feel 'older than dirt' at my age, I'm looked at like a spring chicken by those who are in their 70's and 80's. Don't think of yourself as 'older', think of yourself as equal to two twenty year olds, and wiser to boot! I personally believe age is totally a state of mind more important that our chronological years on earth. I know people in my age group who are stodgy, and then there's people I know who still jog and lift weights. I see you're new (3 posts so far), welcome to myLot and happy posting juneior!
