I made my new nieghbor lunch today as they are working on the house. I was watching them all day on and off. And they had not eaten so made then a sandwich and apple pie. So they could eat as they have all these tools laying about and would take to long to put away and go get something. So I made them luch would you make your new nieghbor lunch even if you didn't know them that well? I did and we are becoming fast friends.

I would happily make my new neighbors a lunch, especially if it looked like they were working hard on their new place and didn't even stop to make any meals! I would be more likely to do it if they seemed like nice, approachable people. If I didn't get a good vibe from them, I may not. It is a great way to get to know the new people living beside you though. I cannot wait until my fiancee and I move into a house and a nice neighborhood where we can have neighbors and hopefully become friends with some of them. Right now the neighbors that we have are very rude, inconsiderate, and not very friendly. They're more of a nuissance than anything! Anyways, good for you for doing this. What a great friend and neighbor you are! :-)

I wish you all the best at getting a home soon. Yes they are still working at getting the house done so he can move in. It is a man and his friend. I told him to stop working his friend so hard without food. You have a great day

I think you did a lovely thing. There aren't enough kind gestures in the world today, and something simple like making a working neighbor a nice lunch is something they won't forget in a hurry. We don't know our neighbors and we have lived here for close to 3 years now lol, so I wouldn't do it but that's because I am shy when it comes to introducing myself to people haha. The most we do is wave when we see them lol. Keep it up though, as it's always good to make friends with people who live next door :-)

My other new neighbor is OK. But not one to talk to us. Unless it is to keep a eyey on his house as they don't live there yet as well. They are redoing that house as well. But he is doing all the work. I'm not to sure on him. I got to meet his wife for the first time and she is really nice. Thank you and you have a great Easter

If I knew my neighbor didn't have another woman to look after him I would. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was overstepping my boundaries. I think it would be the neighborly thing to do. This of course is how many friendships begin, and I am sure your neighbor appreciated the fact that you took time out of your day to make him lunch as well as an apple pie. I know I would love an apple pie if somebody made it for me.

Why not, specially if the neighbor is someone who close to you and don't forget that they are the people who leave near you. Not your parent or your sister/brother, so I absolutely would feed my neighbors once in a while.. cheers

That's so nice of you. I would have done the same as well. I love to meet new people and in times of difficulty its a common practise here that we all come in each others help. My mom reaches out to people and she has a big heart. Ours is a close knit neighborhood where we all share a close bond. Its a beautiful feeling.

The neighbors I have had move in lately I wouldn't.....I am not a snob...but they are renters and some of them only stay a couple of months then leave.....and some of them have been very different. But it's sure nice that you were that thoughtful!

My other neighbor seems that way a snob is what he is like. I think he is not a people person. And he doesn't let anybody help him. As he said his 21 year old son knows nothing. I laughed and told him well, you have to teach him how do to those things. He said no he doesn't want to learn. But he didn't even ask him. His wife is really nice. I think they will move in this summer. You have a good day.

That was a lovely gesture on your part, and I can easily see how appreciated it was. I've done that once or twice, but more often than not, I'm the one moving..lol. Next time, I think I'll move next door to you! You'd make a great neighbor.

I think that's a really lovely thing that you did, and I am sure that they really appreciated the gesture! I think I would do the same thing. It doesn't matter if you don't know them, especially when they are new to the neighbourhood! It would be a great way to introduce yourselves and the first step towards a friendly and healthy relationship.

I think you are a wonderful neighbor, and yes I would fix lunch or dinner for a new neighbor, and I have. I would have never thought of it until I moved to Edmond Oklahoma; where the neighborhood welcoming committe brought us coupons and gift certificates to resturants, beauty saloons and many other things. This welcoming pack came with dinner and sweets and sugar free sweets for possible health problems. So we had dinner the first night and got to eat out free for 2 more meals including breakfast at a Mom and Pop diner. We made many friends and as all of these were good places to eat we continued to eat there. So it was good for the neighborhood and for us. I have started things like this in other places I have lived as we moved around while my husband worked in the oilfield. We only lived there for six months and I left the numbers in the kitchen drawer as requested in the front of the little book from the neighborhood. We also added a coupon for the breakfast for the next family that bought the home.

I haven't done it, as I live in an apartment that we only treat others with distances. It is so nice of you to make them sandwiches and an apple pie, I hope I would have chance to be your neighbour. Happy myLotting!
