Does this actually work for you? I had a bit of left over Easter candy that I didn't want to munch on today. So instead of leaving it on the counter, I put it in a dresser drawer hoping I'd forget it was there and not eat it. No such luck! I know it's there, it keeps calling to me, and I've eaten quite a bit of it already! What would you do if you had some tasty sweets lying around that you didn't want to eat? Throw them away? Give in to the guilty pleasure? Tell someone else to eat them for you?

I would have to eat the lot. I even took some of the twin's chocolates at Easter. Well, too much candy is not good for them, right?

You're so right. I'd have eaten my kids candy too if I hadn't thrown it away after I caught them taking some without permission. I then vowed never to buy them chocolate again!

In my case, I'd probably just eat them and enjoy them. Once you tell yourself that you can't have something, your mind does tend to focus on it and it becomes all you can think about. Far better, as I see it, just to indulge yourself then get on with stuff rather than torture yourself. I have a cupboard where I keep sweeties and treats, out of reach of the kids. Sometimes it calls to me, sometimes not. I've a box of my favourite chocolates in there, which I can't buy in this country, and I realised this morning that they went out of date at the end of March. I've been eating them one at a time, savouring them. I guess I'll savour the last few quickly today when everyone is out, before they're past their best.

Well, if the candy is left out, the are actually several adults in our home that probably would have helped themselves to it, so I wouldn't have been on my own there. But, if it's my own private stash, I usually don't have much resolve to save it for another day. I am getting better at pacing myself, you know a couple pieces a day (or an hour if it's been a rough day).

Well what you could try is if the candies are in wrappers just have a few spread the rest around the house in places you dont use often. then you will not remember where they are. Or you could ask some friends round to watch a movie with you, and share your sweets with them if you want to share them.

No, it never work for me. Even I already put it away, I still remember where I put them and of course, that never work. I don't think someone else will eat it for me because my guilty thought is craving for them.

I usually try to get my husband to take it to work with him. Or i'll give it to the kids. If I try to stash it away it usually doesn't work so well for me either. As a last resort I'll just throw it away. Like if there is cake in the refrigerator and no one else is eating it I will just pitch it instead of finishing it myself.

i do give some of the candy to my kids but if it is chocolate, i usually throw it in the freezer so i can eat it on the 'lean' times (times when i dont get any chocolate given to me). this way, i cant just gobble it up, i usually have to wait to eat it.)

I would hate to throw them out, but I would not want to eat it all up either. Send it with your husband to work tomorrow! I used to bring candy in to work with me, so it did not sit at home and have me either eat it or it go to waste.

The trouble with sweets and chocolate is that if they are in the house then I will eat them. I am not really too keen on them but if its there I will pick at it if it is open. Most of the time if there is something there that I do not want to eat then I pass it along to the kids it does not get wasted then!!

I don't really eat much candy, I have suffered from migraines for many years and I tend to avoid it at all costs. I will break down and have some around that time of the month but, I suffer after eating it. I have Halloween candy that I'm thinking needs to be thrown out and the Christmas candy should probably go too LOL

Hey kats! I would probably just eat it! I know that putting it away and trying to "hide" it from myself won't work. As you said it just calls to you! And I know I wouldn't throw it out, because that would be wasting good candy! And I really don't like to share so I would just eat!

Hi there,I too love candies to much, and I cannot control myself If I know that ther are some candies in the store.so the best thing which I could do is to stop myself from eating is that I distribute those left over candies to the poor and needy people or else I buy a fewer ones in the begining itself

Hello, I can have candy around and not even think about it. I have been pretty good about not munching on sweets. If I had a sweet tooth and didn't want to over do it I would probably give the candy away so I wouldn't be tempted.
