All former Yuwie-ites or people who are thinking of leaving Yuwie, opinons?

I'm seriously wanting to point this out to Y Guy over on Yuwie. For those of you who signed up and deleted your accounts, what were the biggest reasons why? Who signed up and got right back off again? Who was really invested in the site but just gave up or got mad and left? Was it something about the site? Was it the people? The ads? Error messages? Insufficient earnings? If it was more than one thing, please name all of them in order. I think the responses will be eye opening!

Social networking sites are about meeting new people and making friends. But I didnt find any of this in Yuwie, people were fixated on earnings and only wanted to increase their earnings and promote their other online sites. I got sick of the people, the little to no enjoyment i was having and the pay rate. My issue with the pay rate was we only earned 10% of our activities (from memory) We should earn something like 80%.

I found a lot of that too, although the people who wanted quick money without having to work for it mostly left the site. But as for the pay rate, I'm betting the site owner isn't bringing in enough to pay 80%. I did find nice people there. There's a core group that's only interested in socializing and many of them are a lot of fun.

Which creates problems such as spam and referral poaching and so on...

Your very lucky to find a group of people interested in socialising. I think its the way Yuwie is built that is a problem, they have 10 level of refs (which is great) but you personally have a low % of earnings (as do all your ref levels, except for level 10) This sets Yuwie up so people just try to refer, refer and refer because they cant earn any money by themselves.

I signed up there, and was there for quite a while. It just got to the point where it wasn't worth the time I spent there. I would hit more than a hundred profiles a day, and I might have 5 hits on my own profile. Then there was all the spamming on my comments page. I was there for 6 months, I think, and earnings were not even at a dollar, at that point. As hard as I worked at it, it just didn't work for me. YOu know, when you are hitting profiles, and not getting any hits on your own, it just gets kind of discouraging. One good thing to come from being on Yuwie, I met someone with whom I still communicate . In part, he is responsible for all these dancing women running around on mylot today.*L* He encouraged me to work on my art by asking me if I would be interested in doing a book cover for him. I still do graphics work for him.

Now see, that is worth a lot! But yeah, the commenting and the page view thing is just too much work. I get more out of it reading blogs and actually talking to people.

I only ever had two people there that actually carried on conversations. And, yeah, I got a lot out of some of the blogs. But, even with commenting on them, and sharing opinions, it was never like this.*S* And, yes, my the friendship that came from there, was worth my time there.

I am a member but I've never bothered to do much there. I don't dislike the site but I distrust its earnings algorithm. It is not a bad place for networking but all of the people there seem to be after one thing ... money - and you to supply it. I suppose that there are many sites on this Internet-earth and some are OK for some and not for others. Yuwie just doesn't seem to be the place for me (which is, perhaps, my loss and not theirs). I think that one can do the same thing with many blogging/networking sites and, perhaps, have less competition from those who are just out to sell their 'Make $5,000 a week' programs.

There are many reasons I deleted my account. One is the earnings. It was a mere pittance at best. Secondly, I just didn't get to know people like I do on this site. It was more an exchange of fairy graphics rather than a meeting of the minds. It got to be a bit boring after awhile. Just not really worth the time.

I got bored with the site real quick. I added a bunch of friends thinking they'd help me make a lot of money, but all they did was spam me. I never deleted the account, but I haven't logged into it in months.

I was basically all of the above for me. The earnings were so low and you had to have referrals to really earn anything which I just got bored with trying to find ways to get them.. I got bored with the site and the constant blogs on getting more referrals and the impersonalness of it all.

Yes you do need to have referrals, that's for certain and even harder than getting them is keeping them active. And yeah all the blogs on the same stuff over and over again is no fun, but there are a lot of good ones out there too. But as for impersonal, I've actually made quite a few good friends there. Though a lot of it is very impersonal!

I must admit, I am thinking of leaving Yuwie - for all of the above reasons, but I have made a few special friends there and that is the only reason I still go into the site from time to time. I'm asking them for their email addresses so we can still keep in touch, and then I will probably leave. It's too time consuming - a lot of effort on our part for very little reward.

I've done a lot of exchanging of e-mail addresses also. More because I fear the site might go belly up than because I'm thinking of leaving myself.

I thought Yuwie was just plain phewie...LOL. I signed up when it more or less first started, gathered a lot of friends, but I didn't have a lot of referrals, just never was into the whole referral thing anyway so that meant I didn't make that much money there. When I decided to leave I had earned a grand total of something like $2.12....LOL..and that was with me being there for like a year. I'm just not into the whole social networking thing to begin with and it wasn't only Yuwie I dumped but a lot of other places as well, like Multiply....all I got from being there was a lot of spam crap. I actually even had, had a discussion here long time with the title Yuwie is full of crap...YIKES I got attacked by one person who is a biggie member over at Yuwie and you would think he had stock in the place. He was banned for not only flaming me but my friends whom he attacked also...he then did a flaming website about what a scam MyLot was and targeted me in particular (no the site no longer exists either). I did manage to find some very flaming blogs one former Yuwie member did about MyLot....and again...she targeted and named me and some others here...ALL FRIGGIN lies I might add--if I could I'd sue her for libel and defamation of character.

I saw that blog. It was targeting some other people too (Sparks?). Some people have nothing better to do. If she had a legitimate grievance with you, she should have dealt with it offline. And if she didn't she was just shifting the blame right back at you to deflect it from herself. Sad...

yes i'm an active yuwie member before but really wasn't that active anymore after i realize how hard it is to earn in yuwie. anyway, i liked viewing the pictures of others although i'm sure not all pictures are genuine. lol! basically, i was a member of two social earning sites and i prefer the other one than yuwie. yuwie is a good social site such as facebook but really doesn't live up to expectations when it comes to earnings. just my thoughts!!!

The biggest set-back for me with Yuwie is the earnings. I invested a lot of time with the site. I spend more than half of me work time with Yuwie, keeping my account always online, whenever I am in the office, when there is internet connection, when most of the time, even I have more important tasks to do in the office, I kept online, just to keep my account active and in hope to earn fast. But before I met mylot, it was Yuwie. I left Yuwie with nothing earned, but with mylot, I already earned dollars, that really helps me financially...

I never really left I just quit being online. I put all money making opp on the back burner and was actually working. When I joined I was a homemaker. I was home all the time and was able to blog post get referrals and be able to keep the referrals active but once I stopped so did the referral activity. I am restarting. I figure the site is for socializing and networking. Most people use it for promoting all the other programs. I don't have not one serious beef about yuwie. I figure if I get one penny that is more than what i get on myspace. Myspace does have better activities to do but yet they have the money backing it to do it all.

I can't complain. I've made something like $23 that I wouldn't have had otherwise. But yep, keeping referrals active is hard. Takes a whole lot more work than the $$$ are worth (to me at least).

I was one of those who migrated there along with other friends. At the same time, many were unhappy with MyLot because of this rogue moderator (as I called him) deleting guideline-compliant discussions while others that were blatant violations stayed & lingered. I also used to be friends with someone who was a MyLot moderator who had his moderator abilities removed. Having two years of administrative experience from running a site called cashglow, I do tend to see things differently, such as having that ability to say "That won't work." Did R.K. listen? Nope. That reinforced that rat race. Programmers & builders try to make things idiot-proof, & the universe tries to produce a better idiot. R.K. must have been what the universe unleashed.

hi i had basically joined yuwie to make some new friends and earn some bucks-even though i succeeded in making some friends, i doubt whether they are real people-i mean they really look like their photos in their profile.as far as earning is concerned-i think it was really very disappointing-i spent nearly twice the time on yuwie as compared to mylot and did not earn even half.i wud have continued with yuwie if i cud earn quite a lot there as well.

hi yeah u r right when u say that there are fake avtars in mylot too-i think there are fake people everywhere in this world (or else there wudn't have been so much cheating-its genuine people who are hard to find).yes u r right-in yuwie u need to have many referrals to earn-and getting a lot of referrals is not a easy thing to do.but here in mylot u can earn on ur own-more u right, more u earn-its as simple as that.

You can tell who is (more or less) geniune though. Even if the avatar is fake, you can go look at people's pictures and if there are real ones there and family pics and so on, it's a pretty good indication.

Sure there are fake avatars there, just like here. And over there the earnings depend more on what your referrals do than what you do. Here, you can earn a lot better from your own activity.

all former yuwie- ites. Well I'm still a yuwie user but I just don't visit it as often. I like the idea of being able to look right on the toolbar and I can see my earnings. Yuwie is fine but I can't have anyone thinking that I'm gonna be there for them all the time. There is no friend on this planet that can be available to us 24/7, 365......... so the whole structure of it is kind of missleading........ Even still I will probably keep the site open just so that I can break the monotony from time to time.

I have been unhappy with the notion that you make money at Yuwie. $5 a year is not money. The few folks at its inception are making worthwhile money. The rest no. I do value Yuwie for its FREE image hosting though. I have utilized that service a lot, it functions perfectly-I never saw a image not available error. I also have found Yuwie to be a wonderful test bed for my writing. If Yuwie users don't like it-I figure no one else will either. I value all my friends input at Yuwie. I was unhAPPY WITH THE INSTITUTION OF catchpas with every friend request. It makes it painful. I had erased my profile in protest for awhile. But resumed because Yuwie still has the very best system for creating fun and exciting web pages. MySpace rejects far to much code and is dying. Yuwie will eventually to. The web is vapor wear. Always will be-here today gone tommorrow. http://garygraefen.blogspot.com http://www.yuwie.com/profile/?id=427064
