Do you look or behave younger than your age?

I just sort of did a research. I found that most childish people look much younger than their age! My old friend visited me a few days ago. To my surprise, she looks like someone's aunty now. Lots of people just asked me whether I was a high school student. When we walked together, people doubted she was my old school friends.
The rest needs no telling. She is so mature that she wears mature clothes like big boots, drinks mature beverage like coffee and says mature words like oh god.Me, on the other hand, I am so childish that I wear childish clothes like CONVERSE, drinks childish beverage like milk and says childish words like oh mom.
I just draw an analogy. Don't take it so seriously. haha
Let me get to the point, then, I have been wondering for several days. Does mature people look older while childish people look younger? I guess the answer may be yes or may be not. What do you think?

hahaha....me too....im so childish...
10 days later i will be 23 years old...but if u see me (or u can see most of my pictures in my facebook account) i dont look like 23.....most of my friends in facebook think that my age around 16 or 17 years old...
hahaha....
and not only that, in real life too strangers think that im a newly high school student...

Yeah I guess there is in fact a correlation although we really can't generalize on this one. Our physical maturity is perceived differently by many people. Like for instance, I myself am mistaken to be younger than my age by some and yet mistaken to be old by some. Character/Attistude-wise I know pretty well how childish and immature I am. Maybe in ytour case, you childishness or should I betetr say childlike attitudes also influenced teh way you look but this may not be true fro others.

Anyway, I have some Disney clothes like Winnie, Cutties and Mikey. Also, I have Snoopy and hello Kitty things. This is sort of too childish. Maybe it does influence something. Well, if I wear my friends' clothes, I guess things won't change too much!

Haha, I might do some research too. Make 75 year olds wear Mickey and cutie stuffs and see if there's a reduction in age appearance! What do you think? Should we conduct such study?

Alot of people tell me that I act older thanmy age but look younger than my age. I think I just act very responsible.

Haha, you just act very reasonable! I think the case is sort of right but I am not absolutely sure about it. Nothing is without exception.

well i have not recieved many such comments which can explain whether i look older or younder than my age, i feel i am exact 
....but yes at heart i am younger, do childish things now too...enjoy ice-creams..even more than my children, so feel younger and enjoy life !!!

I know that I don't look my age. I actually look younger. I've been told that I look younger that I am too many times to count. It gets a little annoying, when you hear it so many times, but I guess you get used to it, when you've been told so many times before. Even though it's annoying now, I'm sure that 20 years down the line, I'll be glad that I look younger, but we'll see how it goes.

I dont know. My aunt Avis this the most childish person I know but not in a bad way. I mean she just likes to kid around and play jokes as a kid would but she looks her age to me and most people.
I think that a persons attidtue has alot to do with how old they appear to people.
Its all in how people percive you so I guess a person who acts childish can seem younger but not in all cases.

I I think there is something to that argument. I think that the younger you act the younger you look and the younger you are perceived. Without giving away my age, I'll just say that I am often mistaken for younger. I'm not childish, but I will say that my sense of humor is somewhat adolescent and immature. So, people do often assume that I am younger than I am. I have also noticed that about others. When they act younger You think they're younger, and when they act more mature you think they're older. I guess it all goes back to that old saying, "you are only as young as you feel."

Hi hiddenwing, Happy people always look younger, you don't have to be childish but you need a positive attitude and you need to feel good about yourself. Smile often and be content, remember that laughter is the best medicine. One can be young at any age. Blessings.

I too wear converse and I like to wear stripey socks but don't like clothing with disney characters on them. I am mature in the way I speak but am not afraid to laugh at childish things. Most people think I look younger than I am but only by a couple of years or so. So I guess you could say I am a bit of a mish mash!!

Hi. Well, I'd say I'd definitely fall under the category of people who act/look younger than their age... and yes, how you act and dress and carry yourself usually affects how people see you so I guess it could somehow be said that acting childishly may cause people to perceive/see you as younger than your actual age. I actually like being mistaken for being younger than my age, though it can be quite a disadvantage when it comes to my job - it's quite difficult to gain the respect of people when you look like someone barely out of college.

You are right, there are a lot of people feel younger than their ages. It can be seen from the artist or student. They look younger.
Your question is too difficult to be answered, because every person has different statement and thinking pattern. I think the answer is "yes".

I'm also childish I'm not that mature in thinking. My mother told me that I need to act on my age but I still enjoy being childish. Sometimes when you think as an adult I think it so much burden and problems. I still watch cartoons even up to my age I want to feel young again. I know that I need to be more mature now but not for now.

Thanks for starting discussion on this topic, i find it intersting to talk about. I've been thinking about this too before this. Actually i felt that my look is not that suits my thinking. I'm feeling myself as a secondarary school student when sometimes i look into myself in front of mirror, yet in fact i'm now already a university graduate and start working now. I see mylsef as matured enough emotionally and cognitively, although there're sometime i'll behave like a child especially during paly time,haha, i really enjoy and don't care much on this.
As on the other hand, some people may looked mature from their look but in fact, their thnking is just not that to the level of their look. :)

I totally agree. I myself am so childish. I look younger and people hardly believe my age when I tell them. I believe I am like a five year old at times -- in all the stubbornness and all.
But again there always exceptions I think. Or else they put on the act of being childish. There is this one woman colleague of mine who is my age and looks older or maybe her age. She is childish and feels I am more mature than my age. But then I still look younger.

This is quite embarrassing! I'm 34 years of age and I tend to think that I act a lot older than my age; I'm guessing that I'm entering the world of old age well before my time! I think that there are a lot of people in the world that mature very early for whatever reason, they still quite young as well. At the other end of the spectrum the same goes for some older people, they are just so immature and can be funny at times. I guess the rule of the game is to be who you are and that's perfectly acceptable. Have fun. Andrew

yeah a lot of people says i look younger than my age its kind embarrassing because they think i am too young to be married lol... but its maybe bacause i am only 4'11" so people may see me look younger.

They say that I look younger than my wife even though I'm 2 years older than her. Some always think I'm still a student. I am childish as per my wives father. I'm the eldest among my 5 siblings and I'm still be thought to be the 2nd or 3rd one. It's always like that but I'm happy for these comments since they consider and thought of me being you at heart and look younger as well.

I believe i behave younger at my age. At my age, i still love to watch cartoons and likes to play video games with my nephews. i also act like a child when i am with my uncles. but unfortunately i dont look like younger with my age. but if i sport a short hair, i would really look like a young guy. im sporting long hair and with beards now. lol
