Personally the whole idea frightens me. I get a case of the icks! But for some I guess it is ok. There are many options for people who seek food festivals with an unusual twist.RoadKill Cook-Off features dishes incorporating meat from deer, squirrels, snakes.Waikiki Spam Jam in Hawaii celebrates the canned luncheon meat.Unusual food festivals include BugFest in Raleigh, North Carolina, where a young visitor tries a stir-fried scorpion. (see link for pic, eww!) http://www.cnn.com/2009/TRAVEL/05/14/food.festivals/index.html?iref=t2test_travelthur what is the strangest thing you ever ate?

Tongue ON RYE with spicy brown mustard is my fave, rocky mt oysters taste like fried clams SOME LIKE CHICKEN GIZZARDS if you like those, but are very hard to find, i was in COLORADO when i ate them. baby squid is just nasty tasting. scorpions and grasshoppers have no taste as far as im concerned, and the ants are just crunchy with a chocolate taste.

Thanks now I know where to steer clear of a few food fest..just not my type of thing. Chilifest and ribs and other things yeah..normal stuff..although there is the deer jerky, bear jerky, squirrel, and other Jerky out there I have only tried the Beef jerky. The strangest thing I ever ate? That would have to be when I was way way younger and my granny had purchased chocolate covered bugs as a gag gift for someone at work and my siblings and I ended up getting into them..

I do not think that I have ate anything strange. But,I guess the most different foods that I eat are rabbit, squirrel, deer, buffalo, shark and scrapple.A lot of people think that I am weird for eating scrapple. But,I have ate it all my life and love it,as well as spam as you mentioned.

No thanks not that bold either. I haven't eaten anything unusual or weird unless you count some weird things I liked to eat when I was a kid like mixing orange soda + pickle brine. That's about as strange as I recall ever eating.

From what I understand the meat for the roadkill festival isn't really been killed and picket up on the road but animals that do get killed when trying to cross the road. I have eaten deer and had the chance to eat raccoon but decided to pass it up as I would all the rest of the roadkill. As for the bugs festival I would have to pass on those food too. But I and my family do like spam and we often keep cans of turkey spam in the cupboard. So many small towns have festivals to help supplement the income needed for play grounds and librarys and so forth. There are so many other things to enjoy at these festivals too such as games. cultures, arts and crafts.

Count me out! I would need a barf bag just walking around the place let alone trying any of the foods they have at them. If you can really call it food.
