Acid Reflux - the taste, BLECH!

Acid Reflux Medicine - Pepto Bismol?

I was at work today with no access to a drink to wash away the taste when I got really nasty acid reflux. I was so disgusted and it hurt but I couldn't get a drink or anything so I resorted to buying a small piece of banana laffy taffy in an attempt to get rid of the taste. It still hurt and I couldn't get a drink for two hours. Have you ever had acid reflux? How do you describe the taste and feeling? People who have never experienced it have a hard time understanding what it is. Have you had acid reflux before? How would you describe the taste and feel to someone who has never experienced it? Any ways to get rid of it that are not medicine?

You could try chewing some mint flavored gum. The mint oil will help and the gum will cause you to salivate that could help with the not having access to water.

Sounds like a good idea, I'll give it a shot.

I get that feeling/taste in my throat, but it is mostly late at night. It is a horrible feeling. Sometimes it is worse than others though. About half the time if feels like I have bile in the back of my throat. Drinking some Maalox is how I normally get rid of it, but when that is not an option I pretty much have to deal with it.

I hate dealing with it. It's painful. Stupid acid reflux! Achy!
