Saturday after my son's graduation and lunch at Olive Garden we headed out to the Mall of America....we had a blast! My son took my granddaughter to the amusement park while my daughter, my daughter in law and I shopped. I bought a necklace for myself, and my daughter bought me my mothers day gift. After a bit of shopping we all met by the Build a Bear and I let my granddaughter build her new teddy bear which sings happy birthday as her birthday is in June. We cut across the amusement park to head for our parking area and there he was....Spongebob Square Pants and his friend Patrick! My granddaughter was just thrilled! She got to meet them both and have her picture taken with them. All in all it was so much fun! Do you have a mall near you that offers so many different options? Have you ever been to the Mall of America?

Savanna - Here she is getting herself into trouble lol
Shes good but still not growing. Everywhere we go people are shocked when we say shes eight months old. But she seems healthy she sits on her own and has started to try and crawl...and oh trust me the girl eats plenty. Heres a picture of her playing.

Oh! Does sound like a great treat! When I was a teenager, I went to asummer camp in Wisconsin, where I became dear friends with a whole pack of people who were from Minnesota. They used to (after camp) call me and write me letters all about the times they'd go to Mall of America, having so much fun. Sometimes they'd surprise me even and send me treats from there in the mail! I couldn't believe how lucky and spoiling they were to me. I rememebr wishing I could go with them. :o) So glad you guys got to treat yourselves.

Sounds like you had a great day. I hate to shop. I will only go when I need jeans, underwear, socks or something special. We have three daughters who love to shop. They didn't learn it from me..lol I've heard so many neat stories about the Mall of America. Several people told me that I would never make it through the mall in one day. My husband was there for a softball tournament a couple of years ago and the softball girls wanted to go to the mall so they did and had a fun time.

I am over here in Virginia but I have seen a profile of the mall of america. That is a road trip and a week stay for me.I love to window shop. I should have a shirt that says "I shop therefore I am".I am so glad the whole family had a great time.

I have never been there, but I have been told it is a lot of fun there. The one mall up by my brother(about 40 minutes for here) has a lot of fun stuff to do though. We only go there about once every few months of so, but since we are most likely moving up there in a few weeks we will start to go more often.

when I first went to NC three years ago with my then 5 year olf GD we also went to build a bear. Her eyes were wide with excitement - it was so much fun - especially when she got the birth certificate. My 3 year old (well- nearly 3) Grand twins are crazy about Sponge Bob and would have enjoyed seeing him. They watch him every morning on TV along with Dora. Dora crazy - both of them. I am so happy that you had a good time with your family. I love strolling the malls in the USA but have nevber been to the Mall of America.

Hi Jill, Sounds like a wonderful day was had by all, congratulations to your son for his graduation and how lovely for your grand daughter to meet these characters bless. I have only been to an American mall once and that was in the early 1990's in LA and other than having lots of shops and bargain clothes there wasn't too much else going on from what I can remember. Occasionally there will be events held in a shopping centre here but nt on the scale you mention. Huggles. Ellie :D

I used to live near the Mall of America and loved it. I don't live anywhere near there now, in a different state in fact. But, whenever we go up to MN, we always make a trip to the mall. It's so much fun! I am glad that you had so much fun.
