Hi! I am wondering if ebooks are better than the paperback books. I find the ebooks are cheaper than the traditional books except that I have to buy the PDA phones or kindle(amazon) to read portably. Does anyone try reading the ebooks yet? Won't it heard your eyes? If not, what did you do? any particular gadget to read the ebooks better? thanks!

I do like regular old paper books and I still read them. BUT, my husband and I got a Kindle this past Christmas. It is fantastic! It is not at all hard on your eyes like a computer screen. They have engineered the screen so that there isnt any glare and it is just like reading something printed on paper. I think the biggest thing that helps that is there isnt a backlight. So you would still need a light to read in the dark, just like a regular book. My husband and I have the original Kindle, because they never announced they were releasing a Kindle 2 until they actually did. We would have waited had we known! A friend of ours has the Kindle 2, and it is even better! The buttons are much more user friendly. It really is great. Some of the advantages of the Kindle: you can download books anywhere! even if you delete the book off your Kindle, Amazon keeps record of your books. So you can always have it sent to your Kindle again for free! No more worrying about where to store all of the books! You should really check them out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Okay I will try that out but there is no wifi capability. So, how will you download the books to your kindle? How bout the Sony reader? Have you tried it? I hope in the future, there will be lots of e-ink gadgets for the ebooks. Our PDA phones can hurt our eyes from reading long ebooks!

The Kindle has its own 3G network. You cant access the internet with it, but you can download the books directly from Amazon. There is a little switch that you can turn the signal on and off. (Your battery lasts longer if you dont have the wifi on) My Dad has the Sony version. His is a few years old. It is really nice also. We chose the Kindle because of the ability to download books from anywhere.

I prefer paper backs to e-books because e-books are written in a haphazard manner and in most cases are incomplete where as paper backs are very carefully written.

If the e book is similar to the paper book. I mean, just copy from the paper book. Then what will you do?

I have downloaded so many ebooks and thought will read PDF files rather than collecting paper books but I found paper books comfortable and handy also easy to read. I do not feel good reading ebooks.

I've tried to read ebooks in the computer once, but I can't keep up because it hurts my eyes and it gives me headache. I still prefer to read paperback books because it doesn't hurt my eyes and I find it easier. I'm not sure if there's any gadget that it would make easier to read ebooks! I've only seen kindle when I am watching Oprah and from what she said it is very comfy to read the books, news paper and magazine from it.

As for me,I prefer to reading paperbacks books. I think reading paperbacks books is very convenient and is good for our physical fitness. Sometimes I read the e-books as well. I usually read the e-books in front of the computer, as a result, I often feel uncomfortable if I spend long hours reading. My eyes tend to be red from excessive reading and my head hurts. However, e-books can save us a lot of money and it's becoming more and more popular.

I used to collect books but now i prefer reading e-books. it's just the same. after reading the book you're done with it! So you might feel guilty in buying it after reading it and have some regrets that you could have bought something else. Some of the e-books are not good. they are not complete or sometimes they are not the same like the ones printed in the paperbacks. finding a good ebook is tiring but worth it! right now, we have to budget our money. instead of buying pocketbooks or even comics you can also enjoy reading it trough your PDa or PC. You enjoyed reading your fave books but at the same time you save a lot of money.

I prefer physical books over electronic ones. Screens do hurt my eyes...and that's just one of the reasons. I suppose I could be called sentimental...it's just there's nothing more comforting, that draws me in more...than a good old fashioned book.

I love to read, and I don't mid reading an ebook, but I really prefer to read a paperback - real book LOL Although paperback will be my preference I must say I have read quite a big number of ebooks as well. It's a different feeling for someone that enjoys holding the book and turning each page :)

I love paperbacks because I sometimes e-books are hard to read especially on my mp4 digital player but I got used to it so I think the advantages of e-books is that I can read it anytime and download it for free.. plus its very convenient :) i guess i love both since i'm really a bookworm.. what matters are the information written on it. :)

Hi there,üI use my ipod touch to read ebooks, my eyes don't hurt because the Stanza (ebo0k reader) in my ipod touch has a feature where you can adjust the screen light and the text size. I also download free ebooks in sites that feature eb0oks written by indie writers.

you can use mp4 or mp5 to read e-books. and cell phone also can read e books. i usually use cell phone to read e books because the light is weaker when i use cell phone to read. because the mp4 can't condition the light . so i don't usually read ebook by mp4.

yes, my friend I always like to read book with paper back than e-book. As I am an engineering student it is not always possible for me to buy each and every book then I have to read all those e- books. there is one extra advantage for e-book is that it is easily available . thank you . have a nice day.

I havent looked into them yet... but I might consider it one day but for now...I love holding a book and turning the page!! happy mylotting and have a great day!

Depends what I'm reading really although I prefer to read an e book than on paper. I tend to fall asleep faster on paper than on an e book.. I think because its easier to focus on a computer more than it is on paper, but i hate the fact that ebooks sometimes take ages to download especially if they have a lot of graphics in them

I have read e-books in the past and even until now. I usually just download the e-book as a torrent. Then I download Microsoft E-book Reader. I usually download e-books if the paperback or actual book is too expensive. But I prefer actual books rather than e-books. E-books are too tiring on the eyes especially when you are in front of the computer for hours. Reading an actual book is also more fun. It is weird but I love flipping of the pages and holding the book in mya hands.

i prefer paperbacks to ebooks. however, ebooks are cheaper, free even! so i have also downloaded a lot of ebooks. I read them ebooks only when i'm away and lugging around a paperback will just break my back. i love paperbacks coz they're just so handy. i love how you can read it just about anywhere and in any position (curled up in bed, in a library etc.) second on my wishlist is a Kindle from Amazon!
