Do you "yarn"?

A 7yo boy I babysit noticed a new blanket on my sofa. He asked if it was new and I said yes. Then he asked if someone gave it to me, again "yes". "Oh," he said, "I thought you had yarned it." He has seen me knitting dozens of blankets. I just thought his phrasing was cute "yarned".

that is cute I crochet a bit, but what I used to do is make cross stitch baby bibs. At least until I found a cheap, easy sewing method of making bibs with a wash cloth, now when I hear someone has a baby, I give those.

I cross-stitch also, but it is getting harder to see these days, even with my reading glasses. Someone gave us a wash cloth bib when my son was born, he's 17 now. Don't even know if we still have the bib or not.

Well, its been a long time ago, but seems like it was a good bib. It washed up well and I didn't worry about it getting stained like I might with a nicer cross-stitched bib.

Too cute! Isn't fun what they call things when they don't know what they are.

Children are such fun. Somewhere I have a notebook where I would write down the cute things my kids said. I need to find it and keep it handy for when I need a good laugh.

How cute! Kids can really come up with words that explain what they mean, can't they? Yes, I do "yarn." I knit quite a bit. I enjoy making blankets as well as clothing and household things.

I mostly make baby blankets for shower gifts. But have also made hats, scarves and two baby sweaters. I really enjoy knitting. When I tell my friends it is relaxing to me, they can't quite believe it.

This is cute. It's funny what little ones can deduce from things they see or think they hear. My 4 year old niece is notorious for this. She is always saying cute things taht I have to bite the inside of my jaw to keep from laughing at her, because it would break her heart. I crochet. I've never learned to knit.

Kids can say some amazing things, and sometimes I just have to laugh.

Aww...that was cute indeed :) No. I don't yarn :D and i don't know how to do that. When I was a kid, I have seen my grandma knitting sweaters and all, my mum used to do that too and she made a sweater for me as well but I don't know how to do it myself.

That is so cute! Yes, I yarn a little. I mostly crochet, but I have tried knitting. I think I'm better with crochet because I have to get my fingers working, and just using the knitting needles is difficult for me.

I learned to knit and crochet in my Textiles class in college. Did one project in each. It was over 20 years later that I decided I wanted to "yarn" so I retaught myself to knit. It was really a toss-up as to which one I would pick up, but knitting won out.
