Nowday, it has becoming quite common for many non-muslim to point an acusing finger at Islam. In a way, they may not be wrong. There fears are justified. The problem is there are muslim terrorists. They are few in number. But hey enough for shaming Islam. Theu are a disgrace to our religion. Islam is the faith of love and peace. We muslims respect each and every human being. The Quran has taught us that we have treat each person equally. The violent muslims are the false muslims. The peaceful ones are the true muslims. A true muslim is a light to humanity and he has become the light because of the grace of Allah, the compassinate, the merciful. By ourselves, we are nothing. But when Allah showers his grace on us, we start shining. 'The worshippers of the all-merciful are they who tread gently upon the earth and when the ignorant address then, they say 'Peace'! - Quran ch 25 verse 63 So, a few idiots are a disgarce to Islam. Islam means nothing but 'peace'. Those who disobey Allah will be sverely chastised by Allah. Allah is the supreme judge. There is none like him. And the day of judgemnt is not far off. The day is gettig nearer when Allah will send Jesus(PBUH) to fight the anti-christ.

Approx. one percent of Muslims are fanatics/terrorists. That would not be bad except that there are so many Muslims now that that number is growing. It is a shame that the Muslim community will not stand up and stop their errant brothers from doing what they are doing. The good leaders do have this ability, but they would rather save face. The Muslim faith does have many good qualities, but they stop when it come to the treatment of women. Women are not free and yet it has been proven that they are one of the world's major assets. The Sharia Law does not allow for the freedom of women. It enslaves them to some man whether it be the father or brother uncle or husband. A woman is always subservient to a man. Yet with an education or not, she is always far ahead of the man. Shalom~Adoniah

In the words of Iron Maiden: "Are you a man of peace or a man of holy war? So many sides to you, don't know which anymore." This lyric sums up my perception of religious individuals. So many claim peace and love, and yet in the name of the same god atrocious war crimes and terrorism is acted out. The fact that each holy book is so vague as to even leave space for debate (thousands of years later) regarding the fundamental idea of whether or not said religion is peaceful or war-mongering shows me just real stupidity. You can throw out one verse, then someone else can throw out another to express the opposite stance. There are deeper problems then just violence within the confines of religion (Islam and others). Unfortunately they will never be solved because the holy books are not meant to truly be understood, except by those who are "enlightened"; yet enlightenment is always subjective in its own way. One may say he is wise and that he can interpret a book in one way, then some time down the road another may rise up and insist that he is wise; then interpret the book in a different way. This is religion. In Islam you have two large groups that are formed around different perceptions of the Quran (Shiites and Sunis). In Christianity you have hundreds of little sects, Lutherans, Catholics, Mennonites, and such. Its not even like these groups just go to war (physically and through words) with people outside of their basic faith, but they fight each other. I mean, the Shiites and Sunis blow the hell out of each other. PS: Why does the story of Quran sound basically like the story of the Bible?

if others point an accusing finger at islam and muslims its based on bare facts. muslims seem to forget the fact they have to be responsible human beings. if someone from your faith is into terrorism, it the community's responsibility to put an end to such criminal elements. there seems to be no authority taking responsibility to contain such acitivities amongst muslims. so its natural for others to accuse islam. it doesnt make any sense saying that violent muslims are false. if they are false, kick them out and see to that they dont indulge in such activities. if affected people will definitely blame islam, it is based on facts where muslims are involved. the quranic verse you quoted does not make any sense, atleast in the sense you are trying to make us believe. if i am right, i think islam means submission and not peace. as for antichrist, the whole thing has been played for a long time and nothing of that sort has appeared so far other than the event is perpetually postponed to a future date when things do not happen as predicted. if muslims sincerely wish that others respect islam, then it seems to be a herculean task for muslims. reforming islam is indeed a herculean task. whether i can be achieved is doubtful as muslims do not wish such a change happening to them. there are many aspects of life that has to be delinked from religion. that should be the first step and this will not be acceptable to any muslim. so the effort is defeated in the very first appearance of such a thought itself. believers of other faiths are able to control the bad elements of their respective faiths. so why is it not possible only in islam? if muslims have an answer for this question, definitely they will find help from all over. Have a nice day! Happy mylotting.

I like this discussion. Anyway, how does the Quran think about people who don't believe in the Islam or Christianity? On topic: The other factors of people fearing and pointing fingers to Islamic people is because in a lot of countries Islamic people cause big problems. Here lots of Islamic people have low education, don't talk our language, are criminals... etc... then it's pretty normal people think: hey this is my country go back to your own country... you twit... you see? That's why Geert Wilders, that chap who hates the islam is so popular here among a significant part of the inhabitants here. But please don't think everyone likes wilders' ideas i agree a little bit with him that criminals should be punished harder and such but the good people shouldn't pay for the bad people... but every islamic person must emigrate? No... i dont agree my boss is islamic for instant but she is a good person,,,

I agree. Here in Europe islamic migrants have become more and more an issue and this is rather a social and economic concern. Islamic people keep on rushing in, taking advantages of established welfare systems, busy giving birth but not educating their kids, and form their own small societies and inforce their own laws which could go against fundamental principles of human rights. They suffer from high unemployment rates and low education levels and the whole society has to pay for it. Nobody's gonna like to spend his tax on those free riders. This whole EU has been debating over this delimma for ages and still come to no conclusion. Islamic people hold that they've been deprived of oppotunities here and exluded , but I'd rather say that their cultures and social norms inhibit them for the social inclusion, which is what for a time the policy-makers have pursued.

All People, (Muslims, this includes You) should take responsibility for their fellow beings. We are all together in this earthly life, and its up to us to help the our Law Enforcement Agencies monitor those who are living outside the law. In Arabic Countries many more law-abiding people are killed by terrorists than by any other cause. The man on the street, should accept responsibility for his friends, family and acquaintances human behavior. If your friend has Terrorist tendencies, watch him closely and report him when he breaks the law. If you love your life, and the lives of friends and family this is the only rational thing to do.

Thank-you very much. I am Christian and we have the same problem also. Always some so-called-christian-fool doing something reprehensible in the name of Jesus. A true born-again Christian is not going to cold-bloodily kill someone, stand-up in a pulpit and preach Gods word then turn around and molest a child or commit adultery, or deliberately practice anything that goes against the Word (guess you could say I'm a bible thumper lol) It only takes a handful of simpleton, nincompoop, ignoramus, blockheads to do something asinine in the name of a higher power to make the news, then wham, everyone who professes that particular belief system is branded by what a few horses-butts do. The grace and compassion of God goes beyond anything we can ever hope to imagine. I don't see how He can keep from just wiping us all off the face of the earth. Talk about a bunch of back-biting, power hunger, egotistical, murdering, so called believers this world is producing. Not to mention all the ones that don't believe in anything except their own version of what the truth is, and that is that there is no truth. Gee minnelli...He is going to have to come pretty quick or they wont be anyone to come for. Thank-you for your post

TerribleMan, it's not just Islam. Almost all religions are being attacked. But sane people know that not all Muslims are terrorist and not all Christians are crazy rednecks that shoot abortion doctors.

hi nice to see someone coming up and discussing on such topics....... well i was researching on Islam, and i came across strange things in Quran which i really was taken aback.......there is a passage which says "behead your enemies".....i have heard in most of the religions or say for Christianity that "love your enemies".......at the same time about 90% of Muslims are hot blooded they just talk about killing, hurting, injuring and always fight with people on things which could be discussed across the table.......i would like to know whats you stand on this........tc

nobody is shaming islam but muslims should learn to respect people for human beings, i am actually talking about muslim extremists and not an average muslim and even an average muslim in my country is always reeving with anger whenever a slight argument ensued, so muslims should learn to take some things lightly

A Muslim friend, who is one of the leaders of the Pakistani community in Boston, made a few years back two comments: A) He feels as if his religion has been hijacked by a minority of fundamentalist extreme Muslims who give all Muslims a bad reputation and now he feels every where he goes the necessity to prove them wrong. B)In his opinion, the Israeli-Palestinian and / or Israeli-Arab conflict is not the major issue in the Islamic world, as the media tries to imply, and anyways, there are more non-Arab Muslims in the world than Arab Muslims. interesting point of view. Anyways- you keep on saying that Islam is all about peace, yet you avoid talking about the call for Jihad in the Quran against non-believers, and you end your discussion with the praise of Allah and the fact he will send Jesus to FIGHT the non-believers. don't you see you are contradicting yourself a bit? seems to me that if Islam, if the Quran and the great Imams would preach for a more tolerant attitude to other religions, things would look and be much better in today's world.

Hi TerribleMan, I think there is no such thing as an Islam , christian or what so ever terrorists. Only those who have a hidden agenda call the terrorists according to their religious. Why when an Islam person commit a crime they call him as a terrorist but when a non-Islam believer do the same thing they only call them as "the bad boy" terrorist? They only looking for something for them to give them the right reason to destroy some other country/group. I also don't like the way this person or group to reach their target. But it is horrible to call them by their religion. They are a stupid person with a stupid methods. I believe no religious allow their believer to take someone life without some good cause not only by what is right for them but in general. All religious want their believer to be a good person.

Hello, please hear. I dont. Terror is about country and land dispute and not religion, we should differ between state/nation and religion and worshipers.
