Yes, it is true. There are beginning to be rumblings of discontent and objection to the government take over of much of the US auto industry. The most frequent comment so far has been words to the effect that, "I'll never buy an 0bamamobile!". Here's a link with a detailed explanation of this phenomona. http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/06/chrysler_gm_and_the_law_of_uni.html I say that it quite reasonable for most American citizens to be upset with having to subsidize workers who make much more money than they do. Workers who have better retirement programs than they do. Workers with better health plans than they have. I won't be buying any Goverment Motors vehicals. What do you say?

No GMs or Chryslers will be sitting in my driveway. I wonder how the gov't is going to deal with a situation where nobody buys a GM or Chrysler? Do you think they will actively start trying to destroy Ford and placing mindboggling tariffs on foreign cars? I have to hand it to the 0bama administration. They put alot of thought into which industry to nationalize first, and they picked a winner. Think about it. So many other industries are dependent on the auto industry: plastics, steel, computers, glass, rubber, etc. Also, you'll continue to hear the patriotism thing: "What?, you didn't want a Chevy or a Dodge? What are you, anti-american?". Also, the gov't owns alot of the banks that would finance your new car. I wonder if it is beyond the pale to think that certain banks would provide incentives for buying a GM or Chrysler product. Or maybe Ford will have problems getting their MPG certifications. It all just stinks of collectivism.

How about a tax credit when you purchase a GM? It could happen.

Or... the DMV will charge you more to register a Ford or any vehicle other than a Government Motors vehicle. Insurance might cost more too...

ANYTHING the government has ever tried to run has ended in disaster. The Social Security program is in shambles. Medicare and Medicaid are broke. School systems are likened to third world classes in some areas and now 0 wants to run GM? I'll stick with my husband's X-Terra and my Maxima. At least I know if I have a problem, Nissan is still around to help. If 0 took over and my car broke, I'd wind up paying way too much money for something I already knew (the car was broken) and nothing would be fixed.

Mr. Redyellowblack dog I would not have any desire to drive a Yugo so I must say I will pass on driving a Government Motors tissue box on wheels. I do not think it is such a great idea to let failures of companies to keep on living just because of political whims. These two companies at hand made their beds now let them sleep in their bed with the government. Leave myself out of that love triangle.

Most Americans feel the same as you. Particularily, anyone who has ever had his own business.

If I were still driving, not only would I not buy GM... I would never buy a union made vehicle at all if given the choice. As it is, I take great care to avoid buying union products whenever possible.

I bet a majority of Americans come to agree with you in deed, if not in words, when they make purchases.

I'll probably never get another car again, much less a Government Motors car. I can't even begin to tell you how upsetting this crap with them is. Those of us who cried "NO BAIL OUTS!" were ignored. Then we cried "NO MORE BAIL OUTS!" only to be ignored again. Now here we are owning 70 some percent of the company with the President being the CEO and we find ourselves going bankrupt anyway, with even less say in what happens to it... Now the president is on television telling us we need to invest more money and what kind of shareholders we are supposed to be....

It is the age old problem. Spend your money for fun or to be practical?
