Do people GET you?

I am almost always misunderstood. It takes me many words to get to the point and that makes for confusion. I know this full well and still I never take the time to pause and think before I begin. The other day I was writing a response to an email and after reading what I had typed, I had to rearrange the sentences to make my point. When I try really hard to think first, things come out better. I guess it's just that my free spirit style comes out in my speech as well... I have a touch of ADD too I think.

Well I guess you are only understood by a group of people or the ones who have the same mental approach as you have. Though I am a very clear person, like I donot pretend to be someone else or hide my feelings. Whatever I feel is right there at my face and nor am a phylosophical sort of person, who play with words and are hard to understand, even though I believe not everyone understands you. So I might not be taken wrong all the time but that doesn't mean everyone understands me well. ;)

I think I am the same as you, some people get me easily, but others just give me that DHU... look. I like to joke a lot and sometimes the joke does not get to everyone, and then you feel a bit stupid. I suppose some understand others more, and others less. Maybe it depends on he type of person. The one type understand only certain people while the other type understand another type. Then I think there is a group that understand all types. I would like to think I fall in that group because I understand most people. I can't think of any that I don't get. Or.... maybe.... I am just confused....

I'm a bit eccentric and I think a lot of people don't clearly get me, it's always been like this for me as long as I can remember.And yes,I'm easily misunderstood sometimes and I usually lack the patience to explain myself twice to some people who just will never get it, it's like if you don't get it the first time around then I'm not going to waste my time tying to explain again!..lol..They will probably take it the wrong way anyhow. But I think there is a fine line being "different" & "misunderstood"..For example I use to date somebody years ago who I thought was different and I thought people misunderstood him then come to find out he was a total loon psychopath that murdered his ex's pet when he was mad at her.. I got rid of him quickly and moved away when I found out some of the crazy things he did to his ex's and he went crazy on me when I found out about his past!.. Being eccentric and being a psychopath are two different things! Now I try to have a keen sense when it comes to meeting new people, yeah I'm a bit paranoid but I'd rather be safe then sorry.

at times, people get what i mean. although no matter how hard we try to be simple in our meaning and message, there are people who can't seem to really get it. they tend to interpret things in the way they like it to be. it is not our fault i think. we all want to be understood the way we want our message to be. however, it is beneficial to have another view of the meaning we intend to have.

You mean your not from mars??? What?? I think i am mostly misunderstood. I dont even think my parents understand why i do the things i do. I love it when people try to put me in categories that i just dont seem to fit in, just have characteristics of. I dont really socialize because i am tired of trying to explain myself to others.

I am somewhere in the middle. I think for the most part though people *think* they get me, but they really don't.

Most people think I'm pretty eccentric, and very few really get me. The ones that do are friends forever. :) And this eccentric lady married an equally eccentric man, and believe me, the world sure wonders about us. LOL Well, we go together extremely well, and it works great for us.

I am pretty much an open book.....so people understand me.....for the most part. There are times when I have dated men though and they don't understand the difference between being mad and being hurt. But for the most part...people do understand me!

I'm easily understood. I can joke around a lot, and I think that's the only thing that could be misunderstood, I do try to make it obvious that I'm joking though, and otherwise I'm very straight to the point. I'm honest, upfront, and I say what I mean and how I feel.

Hi Moon...I know what ya mean. I was from the southern part of West Virginia and moved up north to Pennsylvania and the way I would phrase certain things I would say or the way I would say them people here would take wrong. At first I had more people mad at me than not..so I just got to where I wouldn't say anything to anyone for fear of offending them in some way. Finally I got to know them and they got to know me and I lost a little of my southern twang so to say and now things are just right as rain...LOL flutterby

Yes,I am. Just like you,I have a lot of friends and they always approach me whenever they need or they wanna ask about something. Maybe because admittedly I'm a talkative and approachable person. I can't stand a few minutes of not talking even to those who are strangers for me. But there are times that I 'm not that at all especially to those whom I feel very awkward to socialize with.

sometimes they do, sometimes they dont. most of the time i'm the one who does not get them. i describe myself as a "consistenly inconsistent" but i think i am good in expressing what i mean. the times that people do not get me, oh they end up really bad, like to a huge misunderstanding. i am glad that those times are quite seldom.

i think to be both too. but mostly on the side of not being understood easily. i don't understand though why i always end up acting like a very hard to understand and communicate to. it seems just so happen naturally and i have to learn how to act confidently and i have to keep watch myself and see if i am getting my messages across clearly to them either by messages created by my body gestures or by the words i would say most importantly. the word or say" say what you mean" does not apply to me. i have to learn on how to say things. i do tend to say things quite the opposite of what i am trying to say though i do that on my own language. so i am trying to learn english cause i feel that i would be able to express myself better in english most probably there are more words to choose from in english than in my own language.

Sometimes both LoL Actually it depends on the person I'm talking to... Someone misunderstands me because he's slow hehehe ^^
