Do you trade services for services when possible?

I like to "barter" my computer repair services to get other things. Its worked out well for me in the past - Two years in a row i did a neighbours farm income taxes (didn't get him audited!) and he built me a deck all materials and labour included. Recently i repaired a pc after a virus was gotten (actually about 76 viruses were removed) In trade rather than paying my normal fees the lady is going to cut my hair and perm it. Shes the local hair dresser. I like doing this - i find you can usually get a really good deal when its a trade of services for services or a service for an item. Do you barter? Do you like it? What do you barter for or with?

Yes, I barter whenever I can. Service for service or item or item for item or however it can be worked out. I don't know why more people don't do it. I've traded hand knitted socks for canning jars, work around the place for food and just whatever comes up. One time several years ago my husband traded some welding for a huge load of firewood. It saves on cash and it's fun, besides!

I think its fun too - I've traded picking rights with neighbours - i can pick their raspberries and they can come pick my saskatoons when theres too much or the other is on vacation. We also take turns looking after each others animals and houses when the others are on vacation.

Id like to trade or barter more but I dont really have a specialty. I clean my Moms house and she pays me. This is the money I use for date nights and fun times out. Id love to learn a few more ways to trade things. I can mow a mean lawn, watch kids and make a good meal. Maybe I will try to see if I can get some takers and get my todo list worked on. Thanks.

That's a good idea - I would love to find someone here who would mow my lawn in trade for something! (however it would have to be a bigger soemthing cause my lawn takes about 5 hours sometimes 6 to do with a push mower)

I didn't because I didn't know where to start, but maybe I should search for barter services here in Chicago, I am sure I am able to find some.... I was thinking about barter for my photography, but with limited time, didn't spend my time researching possible sources...
