I do believe our new A/C unit is broken...

We finally turned out A/C unit on last night because it was just way too hot. We had it set to 75, it ran all night and never got down to 75. It's set to go back to 82 when we're not here, then back to 75 when we get home. It was 85 in the house when I got home, it's been running constantly and it's now down to 81 - over 5 hours later. This unit is brand new! We just had it replaced in December. The heat part worked pretty good, but it's not cooling at all. We're going to have to call the guy and have him come fix it - which most likely wont happen until Monday :-( It's definitely going to be a hot weekend here!

OH no if you get to over heated you can come take a dip in my pool. We have the house opened up and it is 77 degrees here now it is suppose to be 104 tomorrow and 108 on Sunday and 106 on Monday. We are suppose to have over 100 degree weather until next Friday. My pool will feel so good.

I might have to take you up on that! Of course today I'll be down by the beach, but it's still going to be hot!

Sometimes I wish we had a pool - or access to one - but it's a lot of maintenance. Of course I'm a block from the beach, so I can go swim in that (nasty) water any time I want to...

The water in the pool is 86 degrees just nice for swimming not to cold but cool enough to swim. I am loving it. I was in it on and off all yesterday after noon and last evening it was 98 degrees. A far cry from 110 it was on Monday.

Oh no! I really feel for you. Sounds like a good weekend for you to go visit those lovely air-conditioned casinos... :) How did we manage when we didn't have AC? I am definitely getting wimpier as I get older. I hope you have some lovely cool breezes.

We didn't have A/C when we were growing up either and we did just fine. I figure it's that whole global warming thing going on! The weather is much nicer this weekend though. Yesterday we weren't even home, but it was SOOO nice. My husband is going to call the guy that installed it on Monday and see if he can swing by and check it out.

The guy that installed ours came out and fixed it right away. Apparently it's not uncommon for a new unit to need some freon the first time you use it in the summer. WHEW! I'm glad it's working now, we'd be suffocating!

Before you call the repairman. check your air filter. If your air filter is dirty, it can cause your air conditioner to freeze up and not work. I know someone who just went through this and after the filter was changes, the problem was solved.

My husband changed them before we turned it on. He marks his calendar so he remembers to do it every 3 months. I will go out and look at the unit this morning to see if it's frozen up though. It is blowing SOME cool air, but not much...
