I wonder if he did the same to Farrah Fawcetts family?I wonder if he did it for the families who's relatives die everyday?I guess while he was composing his letter,at least he wasn't screwing up the country any more.LOL!

Yes that was nice of him to do that. But also I hate to say it he is not the one who screwed up the country. Bush and Cliton was the ones who did that. Plus every time Obama wants something passed that can help our country the congress is the people that does not sign. But back to the main story here. I think if he does write to every famous family then he would need alot of paper. I wonder why he did not just do a t.v cast instead. We are trying to save trees. But oh well at least he has a heart. Well I hope that this does not upset people becuase I have a different veiw from everyone. Happy Mylotting

Well, that is a little different point of view. You say Bush and Clinton screwed this country up. Most people keep blaming it on Bush. Yeah, he should just do a TV cast or send them an email.

I have always believed that Bush did not do it himself so when people around and blame it all on Bush I will say that I do get very upset. Why should Bush get all the blame, when it was screwed up when Cliton was there. Bush just helped it along. But I am glad that you did not take this the wrong way because I have been keeping up with what your opinion is to everyone. You should join a debate club or something because you seem to have good talent there. Happy Mylotting

Let me see if I understand you. When Clinton and then Bush were in office, they were to blame for screwing up the country; but now that Obama is in office, the congress is to blame.

I think Obama is a considerate person and it's about time that we have one in the most influential position in the world. And Bush already screwed up the country, Obama would have to try really hard to do worse.

Ought oh! Watch out, you're already at a five rating. You keep that up and you'll be a three like me. And I'm surprised I'm still at a three after yesterday!

Yes, I think it was nice of him. Like everybody else Sitting presidents can extend sympathy to a grieving family and like everybody else, they have the right to choose which family and cannot reasonably be expected to do so for every grieving family in America. I think you went a little overboard with the sarcasm here.

I miss Michael Jackson forever. - I miss Michael Jackson forever. He is the greatest singer ever.
Hello friend. I think that it is nice of President Obama to send a letter to the Jacksons for his concern to my favorite singer Michael Jackson, a great loss to the music world. Take care.

Strange and eerie picture of M J you've got there. See, I liked him when he was in the Jackson Five and still had his black features. I don't know what that other thing is. Why in the world did he have all that plastic surgery?

He was a very insecure man who didn't like his nose or his chin so he changed them. He also had a skin disease which caused him to lose pigment in various areas of his body so he opted for bleaching so he would look more normal...for him.

If I had to give Obama a number on my all-important, self-absorbed 1-to-10 scale of "Good for America," he'd rate about a 2. So it's pretty clear that I'm not a fan of the guy. It would be a 1, but I respect the office of the President of the United States and humbly extend my warm graces to the man who was elected our President. Anyway, I'm getting too touchy-feely with this crap. lol .... I personally do not have a problem with Obama sending a letter to the Jackson family and not sending a letter to other families. Obama didn't send that letter as the President of the United States, per se. He sent it as Barack Obama. He sent it as a fan in mourning; a man with empathy for Jackson's loved ones. But since he is President, it gives him clout enough for the letter to matter. Barack Obama, community organizer, would have his letter thrown in the garbage. Barack Obama, POTUS, has his letter opened before all others, framed, and talked about on various sites like myLot. It's one of those acts that are both selfish and selfless. It's one of those things that we'd all like to do if we're in a position. I feel he sent a letter of his own free will, under no obligation or pressure. I've heard the "black solidarity" thing thrown around, and I'm not buying it, personally. I also don't feel as if he's obligated to send a letter to another celebrity's family. Although he's President, he's still Barack Obama, an individual man before all else. If he has a preference, that's his business. As far as soldiers go, I'm not sure. I would guess that some soldiers' families receive the boilerplate condolence rhetoric with the printed Obama signature.

Hey, you're right, I heard this very thing on the news this morning and my very thought was, "I wonder if Farrah's family received a letter from Obama also, or Ed McManns family?" I guess Pres. Obama can pick and choose. I very much appreciate you bringing this up. When I heard it on the news, I about blew a gasket.

DO you think that he feels more of a kinship with the Jacksons and that's why he didn't send letters to those other people?

That was nice of him. I guess maybe Michael Jackson's music had also touched Obama. I'm sure he doesn't have enough time to write letters for everyone, but I guess a major icon's family can get one. Maybe Farrah just didn't affect his life in the same way. I know I was sad to see her go though, even though it was much more expected.

It was nice of him to send a letter to the Jacksons. I've not heard whether or not he send anything to Farrah Fawcett's family; but if he didn't, maybe he just doesn't feel a connection with them and maybe he does feel a connection with the Jacksons.
