My favorite singer of all time was Michael Jackson. The only poster that was ever place in my room. We have three generations here grieving, and I want to crochet a picture of Michael. I was wondering how do I go about it? I was on Etsy and saw one, but I want a earlier picture. I have seen pictures of other stars so I know it's possible if you have any ideas please let me know.

I think that I have read somewhere of people just using graph paper and sketching a picture with coordinating colors your going to use. You could always try to print a picture of Michael onto a piece of graph paper and then decide what the colors are going to be. I think that's certain kind of crocheting that I can't remember the name of but I think it's like 1 Stitch per block or something like that. Check about.com as it is an informative site to do with crocheting. I hope that this helps, and I wish I could be more helpful. Yes Crocheting pictures of people have been done before.

Be sure to check the printer properties and make sure it's proportioned to the size of paper. Well I can't wait to see what all You've made an I hope you can make this project faster as well. I think I saw a crocheted Michael Jackson awhile back, let me see if I can find anything whilst searching. IS this the one you saw on Etsy? http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=27306546&ref=cat1_gallery_14

This is interesting because I have never seen crochet that incorporates someone's picture. If you do not want to use software I am sure you could use a grid on grpah paper to do it if you are experienced in making picture patterns. You just have to figure out how many stitches to do in each row in each color. You probably have software already that can covert a picture to blocks of color to help you in doing this. Good luck!

Look below at my response, lol, I said the same thing but didn't notice that you had responded. My idea was to just print the picture directly onto the graph paper. Filet Crochet is what I think it's called, I know I saw one site where there was a bunch of those patterns. Once this is done, I'd love to see a picture of it Venshida (did I spell that right?)

I have just recently heard of filet crochet. Adobe Photoshop could convert the picture.

You might try to look on ePatternsCentral.com They do offer crocheted patterns that you buy by downloading the patterns. I did buy a couple of plastic canvas patterns in the past and was satisfied. You can also look on MountainHarmony.com I don't crochet so I don't look through their patterns. Hope this helps.

http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/ .... go to that site, and you upload a picture. It will give you a graph for free. I haven't tried crocheting from a graph yet, but I was told many many times that it's not that difficult. Im sure there are tutorials to look up on youtube or elsewhere.

You can go to www.crochetbynumber.com the gentleman will make you a graph of any pic you want. I've heard from people that have made afghans from his graphs and they are beautiful. There are pictures on his site also.
