Actually, they were all good! The quail and squirrel because they re fried really did taste like chicken! The shark had a little twang to it. I also remember I have also tried alligator... now that's some good stuff!!!

I have eaten squirrel and pheasant before, as well as deer and bear. I would like to try alligator, but it isn't likely up here in NY.

I haven't eaten too many weird or exotic meats. I had frogs legs when I was a kid, and they tasted good at the time. We eat bison a lot. I've had elk jerky. I guess the weirdest would be turtle soup. I was wary of eating it, but it came highly recommended (at Commander's Palace restaurant) and I must say it was DELICIOUS!

Tofu. Oh wait. That is not a meat. And it is not as good as meat either, despite what my vegan friends tell me. Honestly, I have lived a boring life. I have eaten no strange meats in my lifetime unless chocolate covered grasshoppers count as a meat. And carp which my father used to bring home (we were really poor and he worked as a farmhand for awhile; the carp would be caught in draining irrigation ditches). I have also eaten jackrabbit which I find to be a little tough. But I do not consider it strange. And reading the lists so far, I do not consider a lot of this stuff strange. If you want a strange meat, eat tofu.

I ate tofu once. It squeeks on your teeth. Not something I want to do again.

I have had calamari also, but I don't really like it. We eat squirrel once a year or so. I don't fix it, but my father-in-law hunts them and mother-in-law will fry it or fix in a stew. It is very good. I have also had rabbit, dove, duck, wild turkey and frog legs. Frog legs maybe the weirdest out of that list and probably my favorite of them all. Hoppy eating to you!

I had goat once which probably isn't even considered weird to people in lots of countries. I was conned into it by being told it was a plate of lamb cooked in the oven but I was very suspicious and thought it was the most fatty thing I'd ever tried and I hate fat on meat. The other thing is lamb innards which are coiled up and cooked on a skewer here each Easter, it looks delicious, like a very well done piece of lamb, until you actually realise what it is, gross.
