Does anyone know what's wrong with Helium today?

I am trying to reach their website, but I get a server error message. I don't seem to have any problems going elsewhere on the web. Any ideas what the problem is?

Hi, helium is under maintenance and in read-only mode now. You should be able to read articles but not able to sign in. The message in Helium says that, when in a read only mode, you can't: "Here’s what you can’t do when Helium is in a Read-Only state: 1. Write 2. Rate 3. Post in the forums 4. Access your My Helium page 5. Access updated payment information on Earnings & Payment page 6. Leapfrog articles 7. Access article tools" Wonder what kind of tricks they are pulling out this time!

Thanks for the reply, but I can't even get to that page. I have tried from several different directions. I'm glad someone was able to find the maintenance page. Helium is usually pretty good about warning us when they will be down, but either there wasn't a warning or I missed it.

Hi, I have no problem reading the articles. Maybe something wrong with the Internet provider in your area. Helium usually do not close for maintenance in the middle of the month, wonder what's new this time? Hopefully no more change to the upfront or whatever. It's hard enough to maintain writing score with the Title splitting and recent change in upfront payment

When I log in to Helium, I get an all-red page that says they are conducting maintenance of the site and that all you can do is read articles, as Scheng points out in the post above. I have never run into this sort of situation before, so I wonder if someone hacked into their servers. Either that or maybe they have a site redesign. Whatever it is, it must be a pretty big deal to have the site virtually shut down to activity for the entire day. No sign or message about when this might be back up either. Hmmm.

The site does go through maintenance (like at the end of the month), but this was for a very long time. I thought it was unusual, but maybe I am mistaken?

It seems to happen about once a quarter on average although there doesn't appear to be an exact date or prior warining. Helium though was down for slightly longer than normal though as I thnk one of the changes they made to Helium caused some impact on other parts including the logging in process, although I could be mistaken on that.

Doesn't this happen every month at payment time?
