Why is FOX "news" host going after G.I. Joe?

I was surfing on my sirius this afternoon, and I heard a long rant from FOX's Neil Cavoto about G.I. Joe of all things. In this often confusing rant, Neil spoke about the movie, and it's attack on corporate CEO's. He often mentioned that there are many great CEO's (I am sure we all can imagine Neil's lips on Ruperts behind), and didn't understand why Americans would feel other wise (I am sure he is talking about great CEO's like Ken Lay, Bernie Ebbers, and Dennis Kozlowski). Of course this film WASN'T brought out by 20th Century FOX (owned by News Corp. parent of FOX news), and with the recent court cases in the UK, does this make you question the motives of FOX?

I think it was a bit of a movie review and a bit of social commentary. He took his sons to see it, they loved it - well, they're kids - and he didn't think it was as good as it could be. Here's part of what he said: "I know I keep repeating this...but let me repeat my dare to Hollywood — all of Hollywood. If you can go to such lengths to dazzle us with special effects, why do you always fall back on the same tired old cliché? After all, G.I. Joe is an American hero. He deserves better than to battle an age-old Hollywood stereotypes. I'm not an apologist for bad bosses, just a realist to say they're not all bad bosses. And they're certainly not all evil. Or in this fiction lunacy, an arms dealer intent on destroying the world. Or in “G-Force”, a household appliance maker magnate, essentially intent on doing the same thing. Or in the lovely "Happy Feet," I guess all of corporate America, intent on destroying our environment and killing off adorable penguins while they're at it." Is he wrong? Are all CEOs evil? The villain in this film has a Scottish accent, I myself have noticed that in most recent movies you can tell the evil nemesis straightaway by his British accent. It's a trend, as is the preachy trend in movies to "teach" kids political lessons. For a long time, I couldn't figure out what the lesson was supposed to be in Disney movies - blended families are evil? most children are missing a parent, most likely a mother? Disney movies followed and do still follow a trend of single-parent families where if there is a second marriage, well, better not eat any apples. I don't own a competing film studio, I just think Disney movies are disturbing. And I agree that, as Neil says, GI Joe is an American hero, he deserves better than Hollywood cliches.

I happy that you were able to list actual quotes because I got a little distracted by seiing "Fox new", which I always avoid. I can definitely see that reporter's feeling on many hollywood movies following the same old tired lines. I find reality shows to do the same. I also agree on your tghought on Disney, but I lost interest in that movie company, as a child, when I learned more about Walt Disney. It seems like Hollywood censores Anmericans from reality. Hollywood would show exploding corpses and wars films that promote "patrotism" but barely give films that discuss serious issues a real chance. I have started to get into indie films. My last thought is that it is true that opinions can't really be argued or dicussed deeply, unless they are stated as fact, but I can't say that freedom of speech should be used as an excuse for foolish, in my opinion, statements.

So Neil Cavuto doesn't think that all CEOs are evil. What's wrong with that? Is he not allowed to think independently? Must he go along with the liberal philosophy that the people who employ millions of Americans are all inherently evil? You named 3 CEOs that are jerks. Bravo. I'm sure every other CEO in the country is just like them. I can name 3 jerks who worked in a soup kitchen. Does that mean everyone who works in a soup kitchen is just like them? Does that mean that anyone who tells me there are many great soup kitchen workers has his lips on Rupert's behind? No it doesn't make me question the motives of FOX. He's just one person and I've seen others on Fox disagree with him before including O'Reilly.

Taskr, I am not the one that said that all CEO's were bad, there are some CEO's who do a good job. I am just giving examples of why Americans don't like corproate CEO's (and I could have given alot more than just 3). I understand that you would NEVER question anything that you see on FOX Taskr, that is why I didn't only asking you the question. I understand that many people have disagreed with Neil, and I know that FOX wasn't happy when he was caught donating money to the RNC. I am sure that the same would be said of a CNN reporter hammering a 20th centruy fox film.

No, it does not make me question the motives of Fox News. Cavuto has a right to his opinion, just like everyone else, unless, of course, free speech is no longer allowed for conservatives; the last I checked, though, it is. You don't like Cavuto's opinion; I don't like your avatar, but I'm not going to whine and moan and groan about it. Good grief.

Cool, I am not commenting on his freedom to talk about this subject, just the fact that News Corp. (FOX's parent) has a history of attacking competitors in the UK, and here (we all know how much they love "main stream media") in the US. I am just starting to see a pattern, and thought that Cavuto's comments seamed very pointed over a movie that is based in fantasy. The other thing that made me laugh is that his kid loved it, but that didn't matter to him. The only thing that mattered is that he didn't like the movie because it is like many of the films that his own company makes. FOX attacks liberal hollywood all of the time, yet the seam to have forgot that they own a hollywood studio themselves. I am happy that you don't like my avatar, I think it is very fitting, but that is just me.

I would rather him rant about G.I. Joe. Than them blatantly lie and be biased about news.

LMAO, this is Neil Cavato we are talking here. He is one of the most biased reporters on FOX, and has actually been called out by other FOX host for it. His finacial network that runs is heavy on bias reporting and light on finacial news. The ratings are also bad, they are being destroyed by CNBC, and things aren't looking like they are getting much better.
