What do you do when you are depressed?

When I am depressed, I just be silent as I am afraid if I talk, my depression will reflect in my talk. I will try to listen to some soothing music like some prayer song or any soft song and try to be alone. What will you do when you are depressed? How do you face depression?

I made a list below: 1.Smoking(actually I seldom did that,I have no addiction,just smoke my troubles away) 2.Eating a lot of food 3.Become angry 4.Lose your temper with him 5.Drinking 6.Make love with my GF 7.Take a walk alone 8.Do something I never did it before 9.lie on my bed and stare at ceiling in a daze

Do not show your depression on your GF. Poor thing she will have her own problems. Instead you can spend quality time with GH and be happy.

When I am depressed I often write about my thoughts and my feelings in my diary, and it is usually a help for me to write things down, because it helps me figure out the reason behind my depression. If my depression is very severe, I don't have the energy to write, and in those cases I simply lie on my bed or on the couch without moving and sometimes I cry. Sometimes it is help for me to talk to my husband, but it depends on the situation, there are days where I only want to be alone, and don't feel like taking to anyone. Another thing that often helps me is a walk outside maybe to lake or to a forest.

Sorry for the late reply. I think out of all the methods you have mentioned, taking a walk is better in my opinion. When you go in the fresh air, it will cool us down and make us think better and analyse the problem and face the problem well.

when i am depressed, i will become impulsive. I do not know what i am doing and why i am doing. It reflects in my every action like breaking and damaging the things and shouting at my family members including our poor dog and tossing the small things which i can easily lift, including TV. I dont bother about the loss

Well,when i am depressed i stay alone and cry alone,bucz i don't want to show anyone.Sometimes i do talk but very limited.That time i don't like anybody disturbe me.After crying i feel bit relax.For me---i am depressed and lonely always.But i get over it when my son come from school.Nowadays he is my little friend.

You know what, when my husband was on long transfers, my son was my best friend and he, at his young age also, was very mature. So nicely he used to analyse the problem and show me a clear path. But now he has his own family and other children are busy in their world and I feel I am left alone to myself. At that time, I stand before God, scold nicely. Poor God he silently listens to my tantrums. After sometime the depression subsides and I go and apologise before my Shirdi Baba.

To be frank I donno wat all I do in such situations.. mostly someone near me will be at the receiving end of my rage. Music is another way of escape from all tensions. Morover I try and take everything lightly.

I think that is the best thing. Take things lightly. It will not come over night, but slowly we can practice.

I go for walks. I like to look around. I don't talk to anybody, I just sort of wander. This relaxes me, and then I might read or just go to sleep when I get home.

I usually eat alot when I am depressed. I work alot too at times. I want to be by myself when I am depressed also. Sometimes I cry about it alot and go to bed and sleep at times too.

I read somewhere that Diana, the Princess used to eat a lot whenever she was depressed. It will add some weight unnecessaryly. So go to sleep, good for health.

When I feel deressed, I like to read, and soon I will get into another world. After reading, my mood will become better. When I am too sad, I will just cry, it really release me from my grieve.

i will often talk with my wife or one of my friends. try to stay focus on the postive things. i went through it for years, and now i will have it kick in once in awhile. but the key is thinking postive and tell the depression you will not control me
