Do you have any Labor Day plans? What to you plan to do over this long weekend? We are projected to have some warm, sunny weather down here so it should be a very nice weekend. I plan to go to an airshow, Luray Caverns and swim at our local beach. I have some company coming from out of town so it should be a pretty good time.

Hey Snowey, It is a shame that the summer season is over, it seems like a short time ago we were making plans for the 4th of July and now we are making plans for Labor Day. Labor Day is my husbands birthday so we always make plans and have lots of friends and family for a picnic. Plus we just bought a house and are almost moved in, so it will be the 1st time many have seen our house. We moved into a gated community and there are 2 swimming pools and 5 lakes, 2 of which have a beach, 2 tennis courts and a basketball court, so I imagine the families will have a blast here. I also have a nephew who is flying in from Hew Hampshire Monday am. We have not seem him for about 4 years, so we have a lot to celebrate. Here is our menu: Traditional Hamburgers and Hotdogs along with Sausage w/grilled onions and peppers, BBQ Ribs, Wings, Rolled Cabbage (a Polish treat) and Pulled Pork. We will also have Potato Salad, Mac Salad,Garden Salad,Taco Salad, Deviled Eggs and Fruit Salad. For dessert we have the makings for smores, cup cakes, Worm Pudding for the kids, Choc Chip Cookies, Peach Pie and my husband's birthday cake which is a cheesecake. I am also making a fizzie fruit punch with a fruit filled ice ring to float in the punch bowl. Tonight (Friday) I am picking up my 13 yr old niece for the weekend and she will be helping me make all the foods. On Saturday am. my sister in law and her youngest son will be coming over to have a small party for my husband as well and they will also be staying the weekend too. We will be quite busy for the 3 day weekend. On Saturday a few of us are also going to a Native American Festival (Pow-Wow)about an hour away from here. My husband and IO go to several of them a year but this will be the 1st time for his sister and her son. Just trying to wrap up the Summer in Style! I grew up at the beach in a resort area and we always have a big bash and then had to say good-bye to our Summer friends as they left for home and to start school. Such a sad time when we were kids. Hope you have enjoyed your summer and I hope you enjoy your Labor Day Festivities!

We did have a great time and lots of people came too, but I still had too much food as always. Better to have to much than not enough. At least some took left overs home. I think my mother-in-law really likes that i make sure she takes some home.

It sounds like you had a very interesting and varied menu. I hope you were able to enjoy your celebration. It sounds like a pretty good time really. I like to eat well on the holidays and just about any other time really. I'm a foodie.

maine sounds really nice. I'm not sad that summer is over. It is too darn hot around here. We got lucky this summer though, we got away without any 100 degree days. It was a blessing. I hate that kind of weather.

We are going to visit my husband's parents for the weekend. His brother and sisters will be there as well with their kids. The one sister has a newly adopted baby that we haven't seen yet, so I am excited to get to meet her. Rain is in the forcast here, but we will travel about 3 hours to the north, so maybe the weather will be nicer there. I'm really just looking forward to visiting with everyone, so if we don't get outside it's ok. Have a fun week-end.

In my country (as in most countries) Labor Day is May 1st. But in September is our Independence Day so thereĀ“s planning to do. There are special treats to eat, places to go. And Sringtime is around the corner in this side of the world after a very mild winter. Happy posting!!!

I'll probably just stay home, maybe bbq. My husband works in retail and he has to work that day and it's not that fun to do stuff when he can't be there. So me and the kids will watch tv, play outside and bbq when he gets home but usually we have to do holiday things when he is off during the week and not on the real holiday that everyone else celebrates. ah well, such is life.

There might be some cool TV marathon on. Scifi chanel and A&E usually have some kind of neat marathon on like Twilight Zone or I love Lucy.

I kind of forgot about Labor Day. I don't think I have any special plans. My family might get together, but I'm not sure.

We are having some friends and family over for a cook out and a quiet day at home. Of course we will be having a fire and roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, not necessarily in that order, later in the evening.

Hello Snowy. Oh yes, I have been waiting for this long weekend. The weather is forecasted to be nice and sunny. I am planning to drive up to the Canadian Rickies, a very scenic and refreshing place, to enjoy a stunning natural environment. I might also go out to the beach and stretch out for a few hours upon return from the Rockies.

It may rain this weekend so i dont think we will be doing anything outdoors. Which sucks because i love to go swimming. We may just have a big cookout. My son looks cute covered in barbecue.

I hate it when it rains on a holiday weekend. It really ruins the fun.
