.......while talking on the cell phone? It happened to me yesterday while I was driving my car.I got a call & I did not have the ear phone or the blue tooth.I was deep into the conversation that I did not notice a boy suddenly come across the road. But luckily at the last moment I applied the brakes & I did not hit him.If I were not talking on the phone I would have looked cautiously around & I am a safe driver. Have you ever been involved in an accident or just missed getting involved in an accident?

I hope every driver can be more careful and don't drive the vehicles before getting the driving license. Recently, my younger sister was knocked down by a motorcycle, whose driver didn't get the driving license. My sister's head got hurt severely. She had to accept a craniotomy after observed for one day in hospital, otherwise, she would lose her life. I really hope every driver could be more careful when driving, whether getting the driving license or not.

I have had a few near misses and only one actual accident where the other driver was at fault, but my car was totaled. I think people take the privilege of driving way to carelessly in the interest of showing off, being distracted with the newest electronic toy, or thiking they are in such a hurry to get everywhere. I think there would be a lot less accidents if people respected the dangers of the road, respected their fellow drivers and riders and finally respected themselves and their own families.

And that my friend is why it is illegal in many places to be talking on the phone and driving at the same time. It is a hazard to safe drivers every where. Personally when I get a call while driving, I will pull over to the side of the road, and turn on my hazard blinkers until the call is over. No matter the traffic, or my schedule, that or I just don't answer, I do pay for voice mail after all. Cheers.

Hi Krup. Yes, I've been involved in two car accidents, which thankfully were not serious but for the damage to my vehicle, which was costly, and also thankfully, neither was my fault. I do try to always drive carefully. Most of us have had any number of near accidents. What happened to you yesterday is why I beleive texting or hands on cell phone use will eventually be illegal...as it already is in some cities/states. I'm glad no harm was done and that all turned out okay for you and the boy. Karen

It happened to me once but I wasn't on my cel phone. I was in a hurry because my daughter who I drove to school every morning shouldn't come later than 6:40 AM. She belonged to the top students in her class. One morning, I was driving fast and trying to overtake a truck. I was on the left side of the truck. The truck turned left without any signal , so I had to step on my brakes while turning left also or I would go behind the truck. Though I stepped on my brakes, my car wouldn't stop at once. Now, I was heading to a store. My car stopped when I was just about 2 feet away from the store. Whew!!!

hi krupesh I have little sympathy for people who cannot 'stop talking on the phone long enough to keep their eyes on the road. You could have hit that boy.I know you will be more careful from now on. I would have been hit in our mall parking lot had I not jumped away in time as the car was heading straight towards me and the driver was yaking on the phone and not watching where she was driving, It helped that she was only going about twenty miles an hour.

I've been involved in 2 accidents as a driver & both times I was hit from behind. The first time, I stopped at a pedestrian crossing and the vehicle behind me didnt & the second time, a taxi swung into a side turning & knocked me into a row of parked cars. I really dont know if they were on their cell phones but I certainly wasn't. It is illegal here to use your mobile phone whilst driving if its not "hands-free" but you see people doing it every day. If my phone rings whilst I'm driving, I pull over as soon as its safe to do so. Usually the phone has stopped so I check to see who was calling and, if its close family I'll return the call. I guess you'll think twice about answering yours whilst driving after the lucky escape the boy in the road had.

God blesses you as you are able to apply the brakes in a very punctual time. Driver should take much attention on if he plays the roll of driver. Everytime when I take the bus or taxi, I am so anxious if the driver keeps talking even even with an ear phone to help. I dont't think he can put his concentration on while taking to other people. May life is hanging on his hand, I supposed.

Hi Krupesh.. Accidents caused by cellphones have increased dramatically. It is a common practice that everytime our phone rings with a call or text message, we hurriedly answer it leaving our previous task. Driving as well as using the cellphone is bad habit hard to break. Many accidents happened because of the cellphones distraction to our driving. In our minds, we feel we can manage to do both things. In my case, I stop by the side of the road to attend to a call or text message and tell the caller that I am driving. I learned my lesson when I bumped someones car while I was texting a friend. It made me realized how stupid I am to use my cellphone in a traffic jammed street. Anyway, be careful while driving. Just drive my friend, the call can wait..

Lucky for me I'm not that accident prone so I haven't encountered any accident or close call and I'm not hoping for one. You just be careful next time and like they always say "don't use a cell phone when you drive..."

Wow that was a close call! I hope you will remember that incident next time your phone rings while you are driving. It is a dangerous habit and here in Australia it is against the law to talk on the phone while driving. The last time I had an accident somebody ran into the back of my car; it was nothing serious but I had to do without the car while it was getting fixed although the other guy admitted liability and paid for the damages.

I have been fortunate that that has never happened to me. I think almost hitting a child would scar me for life. This has probably happened to a lot of people though and that is why using the cell phone while driving is now illegal here. You can get a hefty fine if you are caught doing it. In many states it is even illegal to talk with a hands free unit like blue tooth.

yeah i have been in a car accident when i was about 6-7 yrs old it happened when i had gone to the park with my mom and my just born sister while returning back home my mom crossed the road with my sister, while i was busy looking at some street performer.my mom then called out for me and asked me to stay there. but i crossed anyway and BANG was hit by a car.but the good thing was the driver applied breaks at rite time and the bang i got was from a relatively less speedy car. fortunately it wasnt a serious accident apart frm the fact i fell flat on the ground.thank god for tht

Close to an accident. I was supposed to ride a public vehicle one day. When I was about to ride it, I changed my mind because it was almost full and then I saw another vehicle that was almost empty. As we were riding on the highway, we saw a jeep hit by a ten-wheeler truck. Wow, that was really a big accident because I saw blood all over the place. That's when I realize that the jeep was the vehicle I was supposed to ride. Thank God, I changed my mind.

I almost had a wreck while my mom was looking at her phone to find a number. I didn't want to help at that same time I was getting sick. So we were cruising along than a car comes close to hitting us while making a right turn. It was the scaryiest thing. ( o . o )
