I'm very upset, I lost my cell phone. It's nothing special, just a Net10 cheap thing, but I had 3,000 minutes saved up on it!! They run out today so if anyone finds it they won't even have the benefit of free phone calls. Now I have to shop around and see if I can find an even cheaper phone. The phone came free, I only paid $30 for 300 minutes to start out with. It cost $15 a month, just buying the minutes, and that's pretty cheap! Have you ever lost your cell phone? Did you find it or have to buy another one?

Well dragon, threw out my life I have lost 8 cellphones. 2 stolen, the other ones lost, not to count other 3 that were damaged. I was really very irresponsable before and what I would do is just get another one without thinking about it. The value of the cellphones were no big deal. Cost me 10 dollars and I used prepay service on it and most of the times it was used up. I would think, oh well, someone lesser than I would use it more. Bt as I grew up I was like, no way! Im not loosing another cellhone because of my cluelessness at times and after the last time, I just keep my cellphones at a very very close watch. I have 2 of them.

I got a new one today, the same style I had because the price was so good. I went with Net10 again because for $40 I got the phone a 300 free minutes which makes the phone only $10. I don't know how it slipped out of my purse but I won't be carrying it in the outside pocket anymore!

Yikes! thats the worse place to carry a cellphone, believe me I know!. That was one of the times that I lost one cellphone. And the most stupid way I could loose a cellphone was that I just purchased it one day, and that same day I went to a gym to see how the establishment looked, U know, check it out before I signed in, and stupid me I forgot the box it came with, the instructions, accesories and offcourse, cellphone itself. Gym said they wouldnt be responsable for that after all, it was my cellphone and it was probably someone from staff who took it. Thats when I said, its the last draw! From now on Im going to take care of my cellphones.

Have you tried calling it and listening for the ring. Presuming that you lost it at home or in the car that is. As you know I've only just bought one. It's still in its box. Oh heavens how awful for you. Can you still get the same plan?

I tried calling it but the last time I actually took it out was to turn the ringer off so I could go into the library! I had a prepaid plan, I buy phone cards and add minutes to the phone. The minimum was 150 minutes a month, $15. That's all I spent on it each month, it was a really cheap phone to have! The same company has a new model of phone that I like better than the one I had so maybe it was a good thing I lost it. There's a bright side to everything!

I use Net 10. I'm ignorant of the text stuff, I don't do that. But for just calls through out the U.S., ten cents a minute is very good. And what sense does testing make anyway? My sons say it's because they really don't have anything to say but just want to keep contact with the person. Isn't that what cards ere intended for? Get them at 2/$1 at the dollar stores!!

Maybe it is "lucky". If the new one is good would you mind sharing the name of the provider please. My daughter has a prepay plan that costs both her and the recipient of her calls/texts whenever she contacts them. As a result, $10 last about a day!

Hi dragon. Yes, I've lost my cell phone before. It was a few years ago, when I was still using a prepaid one. Anyway, my family and I had gone out to eat then went to the bookstore afterwards. I guess it must have fell inside of the bookstore somewhere, though I hadn't realized it. I don't remember much about what happened, but at one point I was looking for my phone. I couldn't find it anywhere. I tried my best to retrace my steps in my mind where I could have put it. That was when I realized it must still be at the bookstore. I called my phone and someone answered it. It was indeed at the bookstore. My husband and I went to get it. That was the only time that I've lost my cell phone. Happy mylotting!

I wish I didn't have to have a land line phone. I'm not really a phone person so I really hate paying this bill every month. But I'm on dial-up so I'm pretty much stuck with it. Either that or have no Internet either and I just can't do without that! LOL

I'm glad you found yours! I never did find mine but I bought a new one a couple days ago--same model, same plan only now they charge you minutes to play the games they include on the phone. I don't use it for that, so that's ok! Net10 is a great deal from someone like me who rarely uses it but needs it at times. I'm thinking of dumping my land line but then my cell # would probably be sold like crazy and it would end up costing me more than the land line!

Oh, poor you! I hope you find it, or at least another affordable phone. I have lost my cell phone a few times. Although once I didn't so much lose it as leave it around someone who shouldn't be trusted, who then proceeded to HIDE it for whatever reason. The longest I ever lost it for was a week a few years ago. I'd left it on the bus, and for some odd reason, forgot I had taken the bus, so was convinced it was either in my house, at work or my boyfriend's house. I searched for days and days and suspended my account, and finally my roommate just urged me to call the bus garage and find out if it was there. It was thankfully. Silly me.

That's a bit giggly about the bus--we should listen to people and sometimes we don't, like your roommate. I'm glad an honest person turned it in for you! It's so maddening to lose something like that, isn't it? Phones are important, much as I wish they weren't. I use mine for emergencies or if my sons need me, that's all, but that is two very important reasons! I did get another one. 300 free minutes and $10 for the phone with Net10. I learned through this discussion that Virgin Mobile is cheaper so if I lose another phone I might go with that plan. But I won't have one with a contract.

I have had only one cell phone before the one I have now and I am pretty sure it was stolen, in fact it must have been. I plugged the phone in to be charged in my car when we were at a park for my kid's baseball practice. I didn't lock he car door because we were going to with in seeing distance of the car. Someone must have opened the door and pulled the phone out really fast and took it before anyone could see them because when we got back to the car the charger was still there but the phone was gone.

I wish I'd known that before I bought a new Net10 phone! It costs me $15 a month for 150 minutes and that's the minimum you have to buy each month to keep the phone activated. Maybe I'll let it run out and buy a Virgin Mobile phone, I'll have to read up on it. What a horrid person to do that to you! I don't understand why people steal. There is no pride or shame anymore.

Also I use Virgin mobile which is a pre-pay phone. The phone costs about $19.99 but you only have to put minutes on once every three months, I pay about $20 every three months, but I don't use my phone a lot.

Sorry, it is a good phone too, I have had mine for 5 years with no issues. I also get coverage in some places where people with expensive phones can't get.

Hey, No I have never actually lost my cell phone, which is pretty good. The main reason why I haven't actually lost my cell phone is because I hardly even use my phone much at all during the day, I only use it probably once a week at most. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

That's good to hear! I think I lost mind because I leave it in the front pocket of my purse and it fell out. I'm glad to hear you're not a constant user!

I have thought I lost my cell phone only to find it later. How stressful for you! I would be very upset if I lost my cell phone because I mainly use it in case the school needs to get ahold of me or my mom does, regarding my children.

I don't use mine except for emergencies, that's why there were so many minutes on it. But I've seriously considered dropping my land line to save money, I don't use the land line much, either. I like for my grown sons to be able to reach me anytime they want and that and emergencies are the only reason I had the phone. Now I have to get another but they now have a style I like better for the same price so maybe it was good that I lost it!

I have lost my phone before....actually it was stolen and I was very upset as well. I had to pay for a new one because I was still under contract with the old one and I wasn't due for a hardware upgrade. It really sucked!

That had to be awful! I like Net10 because there are no contracts and I just buy the minimum minutes every month. What really bothers me is that I had over 3,000 minutes saved up and now they're all gone!

hi dragon544u not me, but my son lost his cellphone and his watch last week when he came to see me. He had been'in a cage and had to run to catch his bus, and forgot he had left them on his table. I dont know yet if he found them later by going back to the cafe or not. I know he was really upset at himself.he is so careless of little things, always laying them down on something.

I hope he finds them! Maybe some kind soul turned them in to the cafe. I'm lucky I don't have one of those expensive phones, I don't think there's a cheaper phone made than the one I lost--because I'm cheap!

When my husband had a cell phone he lost it one day, and about 2 hours after he lost it we got a phone call from the man that found it. What the guy did was hit the speed dial for home. and then my husband went and picked it up from him. We got lucky that a honest person found it and returned it to us.

There are many more honest people than the media would lead us to believe! I'm glad your husband got his phone back! And I think your experience isn't as isolated as you believe. I live in a small city and the paper has an opinion section. Each day, almost, there is a missive that thanks someone for doing the right thing. This world is filled with people who are generous and caring but the media lead us to believe the opposite.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. My 6 year old phone is my first phone and luckily for me, it has never been lost outside of the house. If this happens, the one who finds it (if he/she has no conscience) will have a whale of a time phoning all over the world. It is not pre-paid phone and therefore, if I lose it, I will call my service provider immediately to block it before I run a huge bill.

That's very wise, I've heard terrible tales of people losing their phones and getting outrageous bills from people using it to call other countries. I hope you never lose your phone! I'm going to get another one today, I'm thinking of dropping my land line.
