With all the people on here starting lots of discussions i can see how it happens as alot of the discussions are started when i am not on the pc.Do you find this has happened?

Hello jj. I agree with you that sometimes we find our discussions similar to some others. I think that it is very common as we are humans and may think alike in many ways. But when it goes into details, maybe there are some differences, which makes it a little different from the similar one.

Yeah I have had it happen a few times. Once it was within mins of the other one because I had searched & found nothing then started writing it then got busy & didn't submit it till an hour later & then it look like I copied the other person. But even when u search its up 2 the mylot gods 2 have it show up or not lol

Well I have not done too many discussions yet, but I do find many are repeated, but is ok I try and respond to all that make sense and won't annoy me.

it is going to happen and is common really... As life, people will repeat things alot and if you can come up with something unique... That will soon be common aswell as it will be mentioned elsewhere. I don't think I have yet but no doubt that I have thought of something and found it to be here already!! Bound to happen.....And cannot escape it!! LOL x

Happened to me when I was new here. But the topic was good one, so the members didn't mind and neither did the mylot people. Now I try to start only personal discussions as they are least likely to be repeated. It's lot easier than searching through all the discussions. I love this site but it's searching technique is something I don't trust....

What does it mean? you mean you start a discussion and you find out the other members started too, or you have the same discussion in particular? if the answer is yes, it happened here in Mylot many times. That is why many are complaining about repeated discussion. It becames normal so it seems, but the point is if we are thinking of a discussion the best idea is to have a unique discussion but that is very hard.

Yes, I think it happens to all of us at one time or another. But that's not as frustrating as starting a discussion that no one comments on.

Yes, I have had that very same thing happen to me. I didn't know it until after I had posted the discussion. I guess that people do thinka alike.

I try to do a quick search before I start a discussion. However, I have found that quite often I'll do that, it won't turn up any results and then after I post a similar discussion will come up. I don't mind seeing discussions that are similar but it does bug me to see IDENTICAL ones. For instance I think we've about covered favorite pizza toppings by now as there's probably about 100 discussions asking that question!

Hi jugs Good discussions. I try to do a search on something and see how old it it and all of that. I haven't run into that problem yet. I did start a discussion and then about two weeks later someone started one that was real similar to mine. I really never gave it any thought. I think that maybe mylotters need to search it before they start it,especially for ones that might be a common discussion. Have a great weekend and keep smiling.

Yes, that has definately happened to me. I posted a discussion last week and just this morning someone else posted the same discussion. Oh well. I think as human beings we often think abou the same things, and have the same questions so the chances of someone eventually starting the same discussions as we do are quite high. It doesn't bother me though. I usually just answer it like I had never asked it myself.

Yes it has happened to me so many times I dont even care to remember andit is usually when I start a really great discussion .I have been told over ann over that I shoudl use search to find if there are similar discussions and sometimes I have tried but then sometimes I just proceed anyway and hope for the best.In addition there are times when search just doesnt work

yes it happens to me also...i have made some discussions before that after i post it, i find out that there's already a discussion about that and the worst that i experience is that i even got exactly the same title! huh! but just good that the content is not the same... its really possible to happen...but to avoid this, its better for us to search first before posting... have a nice day!

I see that many times there are very similar discussions going on at the same time, but it has never happened to me when I am starting a discussion. Perhaps the reason for this is the fact that I don't start a ton of discussions. I know there are a lot of people that start several discussions a day, but for me I guess I just don't think quick enough to start that many discussions in a day. So, most of the discussions that I do start are very unique when compared to some of the discussions that you see on here.

This happened to me already. I search first for similar discussion and when I see that no match came up, I post the discussion. Once I post it, I see that there are many similar ones. In the end, I refrain from starting discussions. I mostly participate in discussions and accept tasks.

I havent done too many discussions, but i always check if the discussion i want to bring in already exist. Sometimes it does and sometime it doesnt(or at least how i think about it). And there are times there are old discussions(more than a year) and well i just have done the discussion anyway.
