Well since all of my family no longer lives in my area, there is not as much to worry about buying for them. Usually I will get them a Gift Card of some sort just to show them I care. As for my husbands family the few we buy for we always do Gift cards for them as well, so this means the only real person I have to buy for anymore is my husband. I am not sure what I am going to get him. I am waiting for next months payout to be added to my Paypal account and then I can consider Christmas shopping then.

Same here. I try to get everything I need for Christmas, a little bit at a time before the holiday actually gets here. I do not have the money all at once either. I like to enjoy it early also.

Yes, when I am buying for the holidays I usually put alot of things on lay-a-way at the one remaining store that has the program available anymore. It really pays. I have a friend that starts in July to buy things and hide them away for her family. She a big family but I think July is a bit much. Whatever works.

Hi, jugs The day before Christmas is usually about me panic-buying and I am pretty tired of it. I think I will start buying things, especially gifts, even before December. I think this is a good idea. I can budget my money better and avoid big credit card bills on January. Cheers!

Hey jugs! I sometimes will pick up something here and there if I see it along the way for Christmas. But, mostly I wait until it gets closer to Christmas or at least after Thanksgiving! I don't start getting into the Christmas spirit until at least then! It just feels way too soon and I am having some serious financial situations this year and some other personal problems that might really put a serious damper on this Holiday season~

We have a large family, so I keep a present box going all year for birthdays and Christmas. If I know who's going to get a particular present, I'll wrap it and label it when I buy it, which cuts down on the wrappingfest just before Christmas. It's the only way I can afford to do things these days, but it saves a lot of rushing around in December, so I'd probably still do it even if I won the lottery.

hi jugs Good to hear from you again. I do buy the little things before the christmas time gets here. Im hoping that we will get moved before the first of next month. If we get to then I will start buying those little things then. We have a store here that is only a dollar and I will go in there and pick up some little stuff week by week. It helps me out with cost of things. HAve a great week and keep smiling.

I started with getting my things for Christmas this year on the day after Christmas last year. In the past I've tried to do it all in the month leading up to Christmas and this causes me to spend too much money and to have to depend on a credit card and that is something that I don't want to have to do again. Therefore, I made the decision last year that I would start as soon after Christmas as I could afford for this year. I really like how it is going too, we have about two months until Christmas and I am 80 percent of the way done buying the things that I am going to need for Christmas.

I don't know about every week, but for sure every now and then. We don't have any more room for any Christmas decorations . . . but I do collect ornaments and such that have to do with ice skating / figure skating or even ice hockey. I will often use them as gifts as well for my other friends who are also into the sport(s), and when I find them, I have to buy them or else they'll be gone the next time. And nothing worse than panic shopping when it's closer to Christmas!! So I like to think I do holiday shopping quite early to avoid that!

I always tell myself that I am going to do this. I always plan it out to buy a few things every week and put them away. Never one have I managed to actually do this and I find myself running around the week before Christmas trying to get everything. I should really try to be more organised!

Funny I was thinking about this the other day because I wanted to change how I go about Christmas shopping for gifts. I feel like doing it, going shopping all at once like in one weekend is too much and can wind up hurting my purse strings if I don't plan right. The expression my eyes get all big because I see everything and want it is very fitting here. I feel now like 3 months planning in advance gives ample time for anyone to form a budget and write down a list of special gifts and things for the household so you don't go crazy and know where every dollar is going. Next year, I plan to pick a day every week within the 3 months (mark out September) to spread your money for the thing(s) you want to buy or splurge on. That way you don't blow your cool and feel like you overspend. This is what I plan to do.

I do it bit by bit, there is always some deals going on like 2 tins of chocolates for a set price so i buy them and put them in my christmas box. At least if christmas comes and something happens you at least have something and will be less stressful.
