This is a very common question in a job interview here in our country especially if you are applying for a customer service representative. If in case you will be ask by this question, what will be your answer to this? With me, after 5 years, i hope i already have my own house. I am also hoping that i can build my own business. i will try my best to meet this goal on or before the 5th year. I know it is quite impossible but there is no problem in trying to meet these goals. what about you, how do you see yourself after 5 years??

Hi rberon How is things going? In 5 years I will probably be a little fatter and a little uglier. LOL...No really I want to have purchased my own property. To have a nice savings started, and be very healthy and wise. I make goals all the time, but I need to learn to work toward them. This is something that I have made a promise to myself over. Thanks for the discussion and you have a great day. Keep smiling my friend.

lolwhy uglier?don't say that! that is also my goal since for the last 5 years. I want to gain weight even just for 5 - 10 kilos. I am really thin. I have tried a lot of vitamins but nothing happened. maybe i really have to do something or i have to check it with my doctor. I also want to purchase some properties that i can consider mine. I know it will take for sometime but i will try to achieve it.

Let me tell you a little tip for gaining weight. This came from a doctor that I was seeing for weight loss. He said to eat peanut butter and bananas. The peanut butter is a great source for protein and the bananas are good fruit source. He told me to stay away from these foods. So in your case then he should eat them and it will help you gain weight. Try it and let me know how it works our for you.

Hi rosedepal, That is really good information. For people who cannot keep weight on easily but might have a bit of tummy because you can still have a bit of tummy even though you are slim Red Tea is good for losing that tummy but BE VERY CAREFUL as Red Tea can make you lose more weight that you bargained for but just the odd Cup hurts no one. Also stay away from those snack bars and the cereal ones if you are trying to lose weight they are way too high in sugar and fats. I try to eat as healthily as I can so I think I will have much the same weight in five years time. Also hope to have my own place by that time as well it all depends.

First of all, let me say that I find this a very stupid question. Maybe it says something about my ambition and sincerity but most people fake their answers to sound as aggressive as possible which is not always the case. Many people have been hired on the basis of their fake answers only to be sacked later coz they could not meet the expectations of the management. Personally speaking, I am not the right candidate for this question. I am in a stable job which I wouldn’t like to rock and my main focus in life right now is my son. In five years, he’ll have completed his schooling and so by that time, I’ll have to save enough for his higher education.

As parents , that is always their main target, to finish the studies of their son. I can see that you really love your son and you are looking forward for a better future for him. I wish you all the luck. I know in the near future, you will be proud of him and you will see him on stage getting his certificate or his diploma. It can be considered as an achievement for you as parent.

thnx so much for your good wishes...I hope what I am doing as a parent is right. Its so confusing sometimes you know...they world has opened up and there are so many influences. As a mother, I am not at all strict with him regarding studies and all...I would rather have him grow up with fun memories but then I do worry about his future a lot. India still has a lot to catch up on regarding job opportunities and competitios is very very stiff...if you'r not the best, you dont get a good job! Anyways, thanks again.

It's good to hear that you are not strict to him, there are some teens who join fraternity because of their strict parents. they find more happiness with this people, it was so sad that there are less opportunities in your country, same thing here in our country, that is why they decided to leave our country and look for a great opportunity in other countries.

Well, if my boss is still alive (she is 82 years old) then i would still be working for her... but if not... then i think i would back to teaching high school students... just a plain teacher who is dedicated to the job... It has been a long time since i was asked this question... but i don't really have a plan of where i will be 5 years from now...

She is filthy rich... and stubborn because she prefers to handle everything herself... despite the fact that she has difficulty doing them... so you can just imagine the number of checks she rips everyday because of all the mistakes she makes... but it is her life and her money... and i work for her... so i don't complain...

oh my...you still have a boss which is 82 years old? how does he get to manage to handle his team by that age? he might be a rich guy or he do not want to transfer his business to his family. that is why he is still managing the business.

This may very well be a question that is asked of me as I will be going to an orientation for a position I have applied for, hopefully soon. I know it will be sometime next month... In any case, I will answer this as if I was asked by the job, or if I were just asked this, say, by you as you have started this lovely discussion! If I were to be asked by the job I would say : In five years I see myself delved into the medical career. I am contemplating either going two differernt ways in this field of work, I will either be a CNA (certified Nursing assistant)(this one would be the most impressive to the boss) or I will be a medical secretary and medical transcriptionist. I have decided which yet, but I do plan to be delved into either or in five years. If you were to ask me : In five years I see myself and my husband in our own home, with our own two cars, and most of all the things we need and want for our home. I see ourselves with a young child, or expecting a child. So there's my answers. Have a wonderful day.

I know I will get the job, so I don't think it's an actual interview, It's more of just Training for the work I'll be in. Also, I hope to start before Thanksgiving which is the 26th I believe.

For your answer to the employer: Congratulations, it is a great answer. when can you a probably start? lol/ I wish you all the best on your interview. I know you can do it. Just have all the confidence. Say what you want to say. Express yourself. Goodluck. For your answer to me: That is a good plan and a good goal, i know if you are really eager to do something in the future, you can do or you can meet it. I wish you all the best in this goal.

Five years from now I see myself settled in the United States with my family. Still working and excelling in my chosen career. Not anymore renting but already owns a house and cars. My forced savings is big enough to sustain me and my family if i decide to retire early (really early). I have my own business --boutique and a fastfood and have more time to travel with my husband and family.

Wow! that is a great plan of yours. I know why are you deciding to leave the Philippines and decided to stay in United States. it is simply because there are less opportunities here in our country. if I will also be given a chance, I will really grab it. Nothing will happen to us if we are going to stay here. I wish you all the luck, what about your business here? What are you going to do that? Who will manage your business?

Just pray for it... God knows what is best for us---what is best for YOU! Goodluck. My crochet business? No problem, i can bring it along with me because i am the one who's doing the crochet and exporting it. My mom and my sister are still here and will then continue the crochet business--they do crochet too. Mom was the one who taught us to do crochet-- started as a hobby and now--a PRODUCTIVE HOBBY.

In five years, I see myself five years older, sagging a bit more, a couple more wrinkles and definitely more gray hair. I stopped that little brain exercise years ago, it is too disappointing when that time comes and you aren't much farther than you were 5 years ago.

It is quite difficult to foresee the future and I believe that it is all in God's plan for everyone. When I graduated from college I dream of holding a respectable position and climb the ladder of success in my chosen career. It was not meant to be. The business opportunities outside was too tempting and I resigned after 10 years of employment to start a restaurant and catering business. It lasted for few years before relocating myself to another area to handle a more demanding business in pub and property renting business. I am still running it now though business has been a bit slow. We plan our future but God disposes our plans. We have to accept what ever that falls on us at anytime in the future. I wish you all the best in your future undertakings and hope that all your dreams materialize in the next 5 years.

You have a point that it is quite difficult to foresee the future and I believe that it is all in God's plan for everyone. it's a good thing that you have started your own business rather than to work in one company. Once you have your own business, you are the boss and you can manage your own time, unlike if you are working for someone, you really have to follow the guidelines of the company. Thanks for all your wishes, i also wish you all the best and meet all your goals in the near future.

For starters I see myself with a new career in law enforcement, which I've already begun working on the application into the academy for. I hope to maintain my home, payoff my truck, and possibly relieve myself of some other debt. If all goes really well, I may even find the girl of my dreams.

The question is considered as a future plan . I wanna be more confident and strong after 5 years. Also, I want to have a firm financial staus and work flexibly. So, I can have more time to do whatever I like.

" I wanna be more confident and strong after 5 years. Also, I want to have a firm financial staus and work flexibly. So, I can have more time to do whatever I like." I'm sure after 5 years, you will be more mature, so being confident and strong will no longer be a problem. With financial status and work flexibility, it all depends to you on how you will handle your life for the next 5 years.

The good old five year plan question. I just see myself fives years older. I am the kind of person that does not thick that far ahead but I do have plans and such for the future I just think one is better having a plan for yourself rather than work related, personal goals are so much more rewarding.

You are very lucky that you are born rich, you have nothing to think about. you just have to relax and finish your studies. you don't have to worry about the house because you are the only one son,so the house is really yours. i hope i can also experience that, but i was just born a poor family.

I am hoping that I will have graduated undergraduate college and that I'll be at least interning in the field I want to work in (CRIMINAL JUSTICE!) I will hopefully have my life together, really. An apartment, possibly a new-ish car, and so on. Five years is going to make the WORLD of difference for me!

If you are really eager to meet all your goals in life, it is all possible, just go with right path and directions. think of ways on how you are going to do it. do not be afraid to take the risk, most of the time, people succeed when they are taking the risk. nothing will be lost if you do it.

Hi friend, A common and good question. If you seriously think about the question, you will improve yourself and be promote on your job. As to me, i firstly want to be mature and prudent on my character and to be supervisor or even manger. But the most importance is making some decision and doing now to make it to be reality. Happy mylotting.

Honestly, since I am a stay at home mother right now, I don't see a lot of things that I want to achieve in the next five years. I know that we will be out of debt except for our mortgage. I'd like to have done a lot of things to our house that we've planned to do in the future. By then perhaps I will be on the track to a career that will be fulfilling and that I will truly enjoy. Other than that, I don't really have any goals for myself in the next five years.

" I know that we will be out of debt except for our mortgage.". I also have some debts. I also expect that in the next five years, i will also be out of debts. Just be patient with your mortgage, once you finish it, you already have your own house. In the next 5 years, I want to own a simple house, I will strive to have it, quite hard to do but if you really eager to do it, you can make it. its' only you who can make changes or who can direct your life, so we should make the best of it.

I should already have my own company or design firm and have people work under me. I won't need to do every required work anymore, I would just be the one supervising my firm. I am currently a one-man firm and it's somehow a practice for me to learn all the aspects of a business so when it's the right time that I have my own already, I would know how to handle work, how to train people, etc..practically everything. I really wish I could be that successful in five years time, but if I still would not be one, I hope I would be close to it.
