Have you ever even thought of what you are going todo with all that time that you will have when you get to retire? Me and my husband have along while togo until we retire and i would like to think that we could sell this house and move near to the beach so we can end our days there. What about you?

No, I don't think about what I'm going to do when I retire. I'm not at that stage of my life yet. I'm in my third year of university. So, right now, I'm more focused on starting my career and such.

Lucky you, you have it all in front of you! One piece of unsolicited advice I could give you is to start early putting something away on a regular basis for retirement. I remember how it seemed SOOO far away for me, too, but the years fly by so fast and these days it takes a lot to be able to retire. Annie

When My husband and I retire I am not sure what we will do. I think we'll definitely be staying in our county though, and just enjoying the scenery around us. We may decide to farm a little, or do something like that. I'm deciding what I'm going to go to college for, and either way it will be in the healthcare industry, maybe a CNA or just a medical secretary or transcriptionist. If it's a CNA I may just decide that when I retire I will work or volunteer at a retirement home and be maybe the plan coordinator there.

My ideal age of retirement is 33 years old. Yes that is an early retirement I guess. I don’t want to retire on the age that I can’t move already I don’t have teeth or I have illness already. I want to savor the day while I am still strong. I want to have a vacation house on that age. Vacation house where everything that surrounds me are useful and give me happiness. I should have a garden where I can plant vegetable there so I will not buy vegetable from the market , instead I will go to my backyard and pick it. I have sets of animals there that I like. I have all my loved ones with me and we can live peacefully. But I am the type of person that gets bored easily so I guess online earnings is still what I fond of doing. And also my means of earnings are my investments.

Snapshot of the Ocean - I wanted to retire near the ocean too, but we also like the mountains, so we are near both.
Lucky me! I have been retired four years now and it is just heavenly. Until you get there, here is a photo I took at the beach last month. I moved to the mountains instead of the beach, but we are near enough the beach to go visit regularly. One thing I would say, though, is that now you think you will have all the time in the world once you are retired, but it is not necessarily like that. I feel just as busy now as before. The difference is now almost all of the things I do are of my own choice and because that is what I like to do instead of trying to please someone else. Plan now and you will have a most happy retirement, but do remember that as we get older it begins to take a bit longer to do certain things. It is very nice to slow down a bit.

hijugsjugs well now I am already there, retired I mean. and what do I do, I mylot a lot, and do surveys and browse the net, and go to programs here at Gold Crest. I keep myself occupied and when I am not on the net I am listening to classical music or reading, or writing in my journal. I also go shopping once a week in our Gold Crest van with five others,so I am fairly busy.

i have given this some thought because although i am a long ways from retirement, i hate sitting around and doing nothing. i have to always be doing something! i like to do a lot of crafts and whatnot so maybe i will try doing that or maybe i will continue writing and finally write that novel!

wow that sounds like a dream. I cant wait to be able to say I am retired and not have to work again. The way to go is saving your money or creating ways to gain money without working so those dreams come alive.

Actually I am already retired at the age of 61. i am presently having my part time job as a owner/driver of a van for rent which I do in ferrying groups of people to their destination either to go on a vacation, touring or arrival/departure at the airport. I think that a retiree like me should not op working even as apart time job because ideling and doing nothing will make me grow older faster and weaker. Also, I have to go on paying bills and supporting my daughter who is in her third in college. I also do buying/selling of electronic gadgets specifically laptops. computer and cellphones. This way i don't waste my time ideling because if one is idle, the easily one gets bored. There is a saying too, that an empty mind is the devil's workshop.

Hi, there! it is hard to say, To be frank, I have no idea of when i will retire yet. in other hand, if i want to do something , I will do in my spare time. I don't want to wait till someday i retire. the future seems out of our thinking. only the present time just belongs of us.so if you want something to get done. why don't you do it right now? my friends.

Though my age is not that much to retire, but with my present service profile, i can retire after 2 years. After retirement, i have some plans. First plan is to open a rehabilitation centre for autistic children. They are the gifted child, they need some special care also. I have a special urge for helping them. Second plan is to buy a house where we will stay. Next one may seem funny to you. That is; i will write books. Next is.... i will not tell that. ha ha ha... (ok, i am telling. i will spend time with myLot) Thanks.

I think I will try to enjoy life more if I ever retire. I am always too busy doing something though. I think I will try to get more rest and relaxation when I do retire though.

Hello jj. I still have more than ten years to go before I can enjoy my retired life. I have not thought much about this issue, but I think that I will probably still work for a few years till I reach 65. It all depends on my health state. Or I will be very happy to be with my grandchildren teaching them English at a young age...

Our plan is to buy a property with a few acres on it, have some farm animals and live a life of tranquillity. The problem of course is how we are going to afford it because at the moment if we sold our home we would fall short by quite a bit. So we are now trying to work out how much we would need to contribute to our superannuation and save in order to achieve our dream.

I will have time to tend to the agricultural properties that we have in the province. I have been wanting to talk with the caretakers and be active in the planting of whatever crops are good for the soil. As it is now, I haven't been visiting the place because of the distance from where we are in the city. I seldom get updates from the caretakers. One lot is closer to the main highway and it overlooks the sea. It might be a good place to build a provincial home. Hmmm, when means permit, that is.

Before I turned 40, I use to think that thinking about retirement is a waste of my time. Now that I am 40, I have started to plan my retirement. I will probably buy a farm where I would live out the rest of my life in peace and quiet. But before that, I will travel as much as I can so that I will be contented to live out the rest of my life in the countryside. My only problem is that technology might render farms obsolete...
