Hey friends, Yesterday I went to one of my friends place and we were playing some games in his computer. After some time I thought I should show him this wonderful site, which I love to browse in my free time. He too had a look and I have to say mylot was very slow, and concluded that its not a very nice site. He said most of the discussions are useless and hardly found anything interesting, lol. He wondered how so many people can post some thing every day here and also said most of the mylotters don’t have a life that’s y they can spend so much time here. Hmm.. honestly I didn’t feel good about this remark. But that was his honest opinion about this site and the users. I don’t want anyone to comment anything bad about my friend, but do u agree or disagree with his statement? Do u think a lot of people, some with very high number of posts don’t have anything better to do than mylotting? Cheers, Tutul

In a sense I understand where he is coming from. People that spend 24/7 on mylot probably don't have a life but people that are on here for a couple hours everyday are just using mylot as their freetime when they have nothing else to do. There is a line between not having a life and just using it normally and yes some people do cross it.

Maybe among those who 'do cross it' are those Lotters wth some disability who are confined to their homes. They are darn lucky that a place like myLot exists.

I feel if you are confined to your home that you still need to get a job and you still need to interact with people on a face-to-face basis instead of a cyberspace world where people put up different fronts than who they actually are. Mylot shouldn't be your life - it can be a hobby - but still there is no rational reason why I think it should become someone's life.

Not all those on internet, and especially here, pretend to be anything other than they really are offline too. Many offline friendships have formed here because the majority of myLotters are not here for anything other than to have fun and make a few friends. There are some (and they will probably appear here later) who are confined to their homes and because of this and/or their age cannot get a job. The only friends they have are here but they are real, caring people, not just fonts with weird intentions.

I have nothing negative to say about your friend but I can't help wondering what he chooses to do with his life that is so special? I have never ever understood those who watch all the soaps on television who then insist on saying that being on myLot is a waste of time. There are also those that prefer to hang out all day concluding nothing who also criticise. Each one of us has their reason for being here. Though I may appear to be here morning, noon and night that is not the case. I am on in my morning (European time) and in between doing other things I refresh the pages here. Then in the evenings I am at work but rather than read a book or watch bits of television in slack times, I prefer to be here. I also have other things that I am doing online while I am here from home and myLot fits in perfectly with them. The funds from my 'not having a life' are gradually building up and will fund a trip to USA for me and that's fine by me as offline I would not have managed to do that It's a question of choice and as far as I know we all still have that

Hi mys, Wow this is wonderful to read that u r saving all your mylot earnings for your trip to US. I wish u good luck! As far as my friend is concerned, he is a gem of a guy. He is a state level boxer and is a very good-hearted human being. The only things i would say is he is full of attitude (Like most of the boxers are). So he may find it very boring or irritating to sit in front of the computer all the time. But every human being is differant and we have to respect that. Cheers, Tutul

Jetting off to the US on your mylot proceeds Mys, I was planning to pop the car onto the ferry to drive over to see you in Italy with mine, before a trip onto Romania to visit my mylot friends there.

Oh MysD, using your myLot earnings to fund a trip to the US is such a fun and wonderful way to spend a little extra cash! I think it is fantastic that you are going to do that! Where do you want to go in the US?

It's better to do something not interesting than doing bad things or doing a lot of entertainment with nothing good in return. Spending time here on mylot gives me extra cash to at least buy a kilo of rice or a pack of milk powder for my infant.

Hi neil, Iam really touched by your and some of others response here. My friend had no idea what people are going through in their life, and Iam sure he wont have commented like that if he knew. You are doing a great job and u r a caring parent thats y u take all the pain to mylot for your lil infant.I wish both of u good luck. Thank u very much for responding. Cheers, Tutul

Hi tutlu, I'd say that as the remark came from somone playing computer games (no offence to you there) he should get a life. There are some interesting discussions on here but you need to know where to look for them. I did wonder at first how people could spend so much of their time on here, but that was before I too became a bit addicted.

Hi thea, One thing i must tell u my friend is a bomb of energy. He is a state level boxer and i hardly know anyone having that much of energy and stamina. Yes i can say he is a lil childish and full of attitude, but still he is a good friend and a gem of a person. We all have differant reasons to sit infront of a computer and playing games is one of his reasons, lol. I just get a feeling now that he was actually teasing me by saying that mylotters dont have a life. I will meet him and resolve this issue by knocking him out ! Cheers, Tutul

Haha... that's a funny remark! Sorry, I can't help myself from laughing. Just tell your friend that I am a myLotter and I DO have a life. I work, I go out with my hubby and socialize with friends, have parties at my house and what else?? MyLot is just the same as other websites or social networks except that it pays. So, why not spend some time in myLot, have friends and earn?? And, I find it is quite beneficial as some myLotters are a true problem solver. They can give a very good advice. Well, just because the number posts are shown, some people just make their own conclusions about the myLotters' life. What if the games your friend was playing has numbers of how many times he's playing?? I think he will be amazed to see the numbers keep growing. Are playing games really having a good life?? So, I guess the concept is quite similar and I have to DISAGREE with his statement. Cheers!

Hi corry, He is not fond of playing games in computer. He spends most of his time in gym and running. He is an outdoor person and only comes to home for eating and sleeping. To make him sit in one place is a task! Well it was just honest opinion about this site and we better respect it. Cheers, Tutul

Hi, Tutul! Don't worry! I respect his opinion... We can't force anyone what we believe in and vice versa. Sometimes, some people can change their opinions after they are involved in the activities themselves, but it must be on their own free will so that they can enjoy what they are doing.

Personally I have heard others who almost complain like this that are not members here, or those who have tried this site at one time and then left. But if we here do not have a life what about all of the people who post on other blogs and such not making anything from them, or spending all of your time playing Games on a computer and such as well? I usually just let it in one ear and then out the other and know better than to try and approach that person about this site again. When it comes to this site or anything else online we spend time earning a little extra $$ from, it is truly up to us to make it work. Not everyone will grasp it and want to be a member here, but if you are having Fun with it, why let the nay sayers out there disappoint you as well?

Hi, Yea i agree with you. We spent almost 45 mins here and as i wrote earliar mylot was very slow that night. He jumped into conclusions very hastily and that was wrong from his part. Differant people have differant views on things, that makes life so interesting. Iam sure there r things which he likes to do and i find them very boring! Cheers, Tutul

To tell you frankly when I was first introduced to mylot I too found it very boring. In fact for the first three months after registering my name I did not participate in a single discussion. It was only three months later that I once saw an interesting topic in the Mylot digest and posted my response to that. From that day on I have been hooked to mylot and am now addicted to this site. My new job does not give me the time to post much on mylot but I do peep in a few times a week and post my responses wherever possible. Tell your friend to browse through discussions of his interest and he may find something.

Well, I admire your friend's honesty, but I must say that I disagree with him. First of all, his statement that mylotters don't have a life is terribly wrong. I thought that "having no life" was an expression meaning a person is not doing anything useful with their life. If that is the case, then mylot IS a "life," and a good one at that. Here in this great world of mylot you get to enjoy discussing and having conversations while making money. It's not much, but at least something (money) comes from it other than the joy, which means that it could actually be considered a job, which means we all "have a life" here. Second, saying that it is "not a very nice site" is, of course, opinion, but all of us are enjoying mylot, and we're all here because it is indeed a "nice site" with nice people. If he says that most of the discussions are "useless" and not interesting then I think he should search harder. Additionally, some interests - such as "make extra money" or "health" - are fully dedicated to only being useful. There are plenty of interesting discussions; this discussion, for example. What I think you should do is . . . Show this discussion to your friend.

Hi merlin, I agree with u completely. BTW there is a possibility he was indirectly pulling my leg or his comments were thrown at me. He saw that i have over 1200 posts and that makes me a senior mylotter too . So i guess he was trying to say that I dont have a life! I will meet him and clear things out! lol. Cheers, Tutul

Well, life isn't always fun, and it's always appreciated when mylotters help others in discussions. However, it's not recommended for over 5 hours per day, as that will destroy our retinas. NOOOO! Poor eyes! So sad :(

Hi there. It's sad thing that your friend said we have no life. Yes it includes you. :) But it's okay though. Non-members of myLot perceive this site as a money making site. They thought it's just for some pennies a day. They don't know that we members here are actually enjoying having discussions which each other. I know for some earning is so important but there's more to it here. I hope you can make your friend realize that. We're socializing here and not merely for some pennies. shadow41

That is his opinion and we have to respect that. Each and everyone of us as his own interests, it just so happened that we mylot is our common interest and not his. but at the end of the day it's his loss and ours. Cheers!

mmm I think everyone havs a life... I can spend lot of time here because nowadays I'm not able doing anything else... I mean I can't work, so I spend my time here and in other sites... I think that's not a non life... and much people spend time here because they have a little fun and distraction of their actually activities. I think there's no matter about that.

To each his own.He does have a point some of the questions and answers ,are the same just worded different. Also some of the subjects are down right stupid.Wasting my day here thinking ,I am making big bucks would be a farce. IMHO most people are better off exploring things on their own to see what ,they like.As we are all different that's why they make vanilla and chocolate. I find your friends comment honest.I show my friends nothing on PC forums ect. that I frequent. I hope they would never try to instill their favorite sites on me either.

I'm totally don't agree with your friend. Most of MyLotters have their life out there. This is the place where they gather to gain knowledge and share information and problems. That's all, nothing much. =)

I am not on here 24/7, but I am on here quite a bit. I am a stay-at-home mom, and this allows me to not only interact with other adults but also earn a little extra money while doing it. Yes, it is only a little bit of money, but every little bit helps, especially in this economy. My husband and I feel that it is more important for me to be home with our little one, even though we are strapped for cash, than for me to be outside of the house working, especially since daycare costs are so high that I would litterally be paying to work. As to the question of whether or not people with a high number of posts don't have anything better to do than myLotting - that is not as straight forward as it might seem. The number of posts goes up when you (1) respond to a discussion (2) respond to a response within a discussion or (3) start a discussion that either has two responses or one response and one comment on a response. The posts only go down when a user's response or a dicussion that the user has replied to gets deleted. Therefore, a user that has been on myLot for three years might not be "overly active" but should still have a fairly large number of posts if they are somewhat active. This does not mean that they do not have a life outside of myLot nor does a high number of posts in a short period of time mean that, because the posts could be a bunch of one line answers that do not take a lot of time or thought.

I don't think having a high number of posts in mylot means mylotting is the only thing that the person is doing. I think a lot of people here have a good time management. Many can work and do mylot afterwards. It won't take all our time just doing mylot. The will to respond and write would just take minutes.

Dont get shocked for your friend's remark. That was his very personal comment. You have a high score and you know what life you are leading. Most of us are passing here some of our leisure times. Comments will vary man to man. If everybody would say this type of remarks, then why the number of members of this site are increasing? Daily so many new members are coming to "no life" zone? ha ha... Not that. We love discussing here. We love reading the discussions. Only good people, who loves reading and discussing, love mylotting. Thank you.

Hey Tutul, I completely disagree with your friend I think people that have a high amount of post just mean they have more to say than average. At the end of the day think of it this way your the one thats making some money buy typing your opinions not your friend. best of luck in the future hope to see another post soon :)
