I think it has a lot to do with the fact that we women are more prone to keep tabs on our symptoms and get them checked out. For instance, my Dad used to always have to be begged to go to the Dr, even when he had pneumonia a couple of times. I think a lot of guys think that the symptoms, or whatever, will go away with time. Then when the symptoms get too severe, they will finally get them checked out, and too often it's past the point where they should have had prompt medical attention. When I was still married, my (then) hubby had chest pains and shortness of breath. He absolutely would not go get it checked out, and as a result of heart blockage, when he finally did get it checked out it was a far bigger deal than if he had gotten it checked out during the first symptoms. His attitude was 'no big deal'. So yes, I do think us women are more attuned to our symptoms and have them get checked out sooner. I think it has less to do with lifestyle than to do with life choices.

Hi joyfulone :) May be men dont like being seen as weak! Must be strraining too much to keep those pretences. I agree with other posts as well. Their lifestyles are to blame, excessive drinking, smoking, racing, and what nots.

There are many factors of life length. Some examples:
Food (Women eats breakfast daily)
Emotional Expressions (Average Women tends to be claim;men explodes their anger often)
(Stress's the killer :)
Sleeping ( Men sleeps more, but sleeps lately at night)
Time of Meals
(Men skip their meals)
Exercises
(Most morning runners are women---perfect time for exercising).
L All of them affects the health of our internal organs.
Women's life expectancy is longer because women eat breakfast, and men skips breakfast as they rush to work. I think it's a matter of who's working. If a married woman stays home to care for a child,
we can sleep earlier (No Job Work, assignments),
not as much stress as the husband (he cares of the child & Work),
and
eating meals on time (Men skip meals due to the work load).
The exercising is another important factor. Although men tend to be stronger than women (it's in the genes---even Physical Exercises for women are different from men),
women are exercising more frequently, as men tend to
awake lately however.
The men usually sleeps lately

My women studies professor in undergrad whom I adored said it was because women have better cardiovascular health due to exercise from house work. Now men have more reason to do housework other than just making their wives happy.

It seems it is true that the women's average lives are longer than men. Perhaps men suffer more pressure than women. And men seem to have more bad habits like smoking, drinking and so on. And men hardly shed tears or set free their emotion. Whereas women are much more emotional and they even cry for a movie. It makes them to have a healthier mental.

Hi there and smile!
MEN are more likely to have high levels of lousy LDL cholesterol, which increases heart disease risk. Oestrogen protects women from heart disease until the menopause when levels plunge. Experts believe men suffer more dodgy tickers because of lifestyle – they are more likely to skip breakfast, meaning they snack through the morning. Plus, men are more prone to aggression than women, and regularly losing your rag significantly increases heart attack risk.
Studies confirm women talk three times as much as men, with the average female saying 20,000 words in a day. However, with doctors encouraging men to speak up more about their mental and physical wellbeing, maybe chaps should boost their word count when it comes to health.
Happy mylotting and smile always!

This question is not easy to answer, mainly because there are many factors to be considered and, in general, men are not easily controlled in an experiment.
Compared with women, men are less familiar with the language of their emotions than women. people are more likely to maintain their physical health if they have the language to articulate how they feel.
In fact, the of modern life style increases the difference between the life expectancy of men and women.

zhouxi we women do take better care of our health than me. we tend to go to the doctor before we get critically ill. we exercise more and d rink less, and pay more attention to our
diets than most men do. we try to live life more healthfully
than a lot of men. we have better health as we took better care
of ourselves. so we do live longer.
