Do You Like To Wrap Your Own Gifts Or Have Someone Else Do It??

Birthday Present - One of my son's birthday presents

Today I wrapped my son's birthday presents. He will be 3 years old on Monday. I am so excited! I enjoy wrapping my children's birthday presents and even their Christmas presents because it makes me feel like I'm doing something a little extra for them. I would much rather wrap my own presents then have someone else do it for me, but that is just me, how about you? Would you rather wrap your own gifts/presents or have someone else do it for you?

I am not good in wrapping gift. But if the wrapping service if free, it is better to let the pro to do it. They can come out with many creative way to wrap the gift, they can have some pattern on the wrapping, and make the gift more outstanding. Most of the time, If I go for any birthday party, the gift with special wrapping will catch my eyes first.

Happy Birthday!!! I normally wrap my own presents. I remember when I was a kid my mom hated wrapping all of the presents for us 6 kids, so she would put them in boxes and have me wrap my siblings presents so that she did not have to.

I don't really like to wrap gifts myself. I will usually buy from those departmental stores and go to the service counter which will provide complementary wrappers and wrapping service. That will also include a small ribbon bow on the wrapped gift. However, if I bought something not from the stores, then I will surely has to wrap our own.

Hi singlemom, i also enjoy wrapping gifts. I even offer gift wrapping services to my sisters. I love experimenting on different gift wrapping styles. I also add some trimming especially if the gift is for persons i really like. So no matter how busy i am i'll always find time wrapping gifts.

for years, i'm doing my own wrapping...during christmas, birthdays, baptism etc. but now that i have so many to give gifts to especially christmas, i would rather want someone to do it for me.. When you buy your gifts at the mall they have a free gift wrapping there. so, i shop early to avoid long lines at the counters. i just saved time and money when i do this.

I would rather wrap my own gifts unless the other person can keep a secret and wraps my present for free.

I always wrap my own! Congratulations on your son's 3rd birthday! It will mean a lot to them later to know that you did it yourself. Speaking of Christmas, I used to buy special wrapping paper for Santa's gifts. It just killed me to throw the excess away, as it was more expensive than the rest of the gifts. But if I used it the next year there would be questions! I always think of who I'm giving the gift to when I'm wrapping it. I hope my good thoughts and love go into the wrapping and the person will feel it as they unwrap and enjoy the gift!

Thanks! Yes, I always think of the person that the gift is for when I am wrapping too. I think it is just the excitement of knowing they are going to unwrap it!

Hi there my dear friend. Just 3 years old ? I am sure we will be really happy to open the gift - i know i still am when opening presents :P I do prefer wrapping my own gifts as it gives me a special feeling knowing that i actively participated in creating the gift, apart from the idea itself - well it may not be perfect, but it gives it a more close up feeling if i may say so. Take care always, Alex.

If I am not busy, I'd really like to wrap my own gifts for my love ones coz' I really enjoy wrapping no matter what might it look after wrapping as long as I have tried to make it beautifully. But sometimes I prefer to buy gifts that are already wrapped to avoid hassle.

Yes, sometimes a personal touch is a good thing and other times buying them prewrapped is just an added plus!

No I like wrapping my own gifts. I like to be creative and make the gift so pretty you don't want to open it. As for Christmas I can't wait to wrap gifts even though this year it will be alot less then usual. Most will be for my 3 year old granddaughter. So it will be special for me to wrap her gifts with her favorite cartoon characters.

Oh, I bet you are excited! I am excited about my son being 3 on Monday and seeing him open his presents. I am also starting to get excited about Christmas with him this year too. He is more into things then he was last year. I can't wait to get the tree up and decorate it! I know he is going to love it!

I would rather wrap my own presents and gifts unless I didn't have the time to do it. Otherwise, if I didn't have time, I'd ask someone to help or get it wrapped in some store for a small fee which usually isn't too much anyway.

Yes, sometimes we don't always have time. It is great that some stores offer wrapping for a small fee for those who can't wrap or don't have time to.

I love wrapping my own gifts. I always enjoy wrapping. I don't know why, maybe it just gives me excitement and everything. Like I can't wait to see the face of the person who will get the gift and unwrap it.

I agree, I think apart of it is that you are excited about seeing that person unwrap it. It really is exciting to see someone's face when they get a gift.

yes i like to do it myself also, i think it goes with the holiday spirit and is half the fun of the whole thing. having them wrapped is very boring to me and actually cuts out my happy spirit!

Oh, I love wrapping gifts. When we were kids my sister would get me to wrap the presents she bought for my parents because she hated doing the wrapping. It just adds to my enjoyment. Christmas present wrapping is the most fun, but I also enjoy wrapping people's birthday presents. I just imagine how much they are going to like the gift, and I guess it gets me into an even "Christmasier" mood. Yep, I know that isn't a word.

I wrap my own, with the aid of several cats, lol. Makes it quite interesting I assure you. Sometimes my husband helps with the one for a particular sister, yes, we have used duct tape, lol. I'd rather do them myself, that way I know the right box is going to the right person and place. Truth is, I enjoy it.

I enjoy wrapping presents, I too think of it as doing a little something extra for that person, and I think it shows that you care enough to take the time out to do it. Now at Christmas sometimes it can get hectic and I have so much to do and the last thing I want to think about it wrapping gifts so I'm usually trying to get it all wrapped at the last minute, then I'd rather have someone else do it.

I always wrap my own gifts. At most of the stores you have to pay for the gift wrapping, sometimes even at Christmas. I had rather do it myself. I have a helper this year, my 4 year old grand daughter helps me with everything now. Happy Mylotting

Hi, there. Since them I have no talent of gift wrapping but I always wanted to do it by my self even if it looks like disaster. I wanted to give my very best in wrapping and hand it to the person with all my effort. Because that's the only thing i can give without money involve,my effort. When wrapping, it usually take me more than 1 hour in one item. often, my friend offer her hand but I refuse.=p
