Every one probably has their own version of shepherd's pie since there are so many ways to make it. I never make it the same way twice. I star with a meat some time hamburger sometimes left over roast beef. Add some kind of mixed vegetables a can of mushroom soup either creamed or beefy. Top with mashed potatoes and a sprinkling of cheddar cheese. Bake until nice and hot and cheese is melted.

Yes just pour it over the vegetables and meat. don't add any water and it will make a nice gravy.

Oh ok. I should try it with the mushroom soup. Never done that before. Should I just pour it on top of the vegetables and meat?

I don't make the real thing but a very good fake one....brown a pound of hamburger...add a can of vegetable soup.....top with mashed potatoes and cover that with American cheese and bake until it's warmed through and the cheese is melted. My kids always love it!

Wow that sounds very easy. When you say brown a hamburger do you mean to fry them? How long should I warm them and what temperature should I set the oven to?

The way I make it for my kids is really simple. I cook up a pound of ground beef in a pan and drain off the fat. Then I mix up a packet of brown gravy mix with water according to the package directions and stir that in the ground beef. Then I stir in some frozen corn. Put it in a dish and top with mashed potatoes with cheddar cheese stirred into them. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until hot throughout.

i use left over meatloaf from a recipe I found online. crumbling your delicious meatloaf in the bottom of a sprayed baking dish. Mix mushrooms, cooked carrots and cream corn into the crumbled meatloaf. Add a layer of shredded cheese. Add a layer of left over gravy. Spread left over mashed potatoes on top. Sprinkle with additional cheese. Salt and pepper the top
