I am definitely curious about what other people think about this 2012 event that's coming up. Do you really believe that it will happen?? To be honest, my opinion would be NO, why because they said the samething for the year 2000 that the world will come to its end. Who knows what other years have they brought up... I definitely think that it will come to an end if we keep up this way of living, poluting our environment and so forth among other factors as "war", but I do not believe it will come in 2012, what say you??? I may be wrong, but I am standing strong on my statement that it would not happen...lets assume it will, what would you do or wish to do for the last few moments of your life ON EARTH. Then after that, we'll all see each other either in Heaven Or Hell lol.

The whole thing is just a bunch of hype to sell a movie. Just because the couple or so thousand year old Mayan calender ends in 2012, some are saying that they were predicting the end of the world. They said no such thing and made no predictions indicating such a thing. At most it means that they would have to start a new calender.

I sort of agree with you on that response...and yes they were predicting the end of days...who are they to predict??? they might have been far about other things but no men is perfect so at the end it's just assumptions....but for the other responses First one is right about it's not really men's doing that the world is being destroyed...he had good points there about volcano and pretty much just natural desasters....as far as men wast into water...I do not approve to that at all and among other things that polutes our environment...mmmmm I hope they make another calender soon lol...I still believe it will end but not in 2012 not in 20 years...it will slowly come to that hopefully not in my life time. I do not want to witness such coas at all...

and the movie did not even touch on the Mayan legend. I was hoping it would but only the crazy guy in Yellowstone mentioned it in one sentence. Very disappointing.

Hi 77klove, This 2012 stuff is sure getting a lot of coverage lately and I feel it will only get worse as the day approaches. The fact is the Mayans themselves didn't say it would be the end of the world. There is no doubt that the earth will be here for a long time yet but we do have the ability to destroy all life, but that's not the end of the earth. The earth was here long before man and will simply revitalize itself. The end of this world for all of us will be when we die and for some it will be tomorrow and for others it will be December 21, 2012. The Mayans were a very wise people and may have seen a change coming about around this time, perhaps a change in consciousness. It should be clear to everyone that we have created a society that cannot continue for a long period of time and change must come. There could be more difficult days ahead but I think we will survive and hopefully begin to make a better world for everyone. Blessings.

Hi there "Pose123 (5677) I have to say...that your response must be the best I have heard so far...not that the others were bad no but as far as reality you are right about the earth being here before man kind. Definitely agree on the end of days for men seeing how our behaviors are taking us, as you mentioned some may day today, tomorrow, 2012 or tonight but as far as the earth its self it'll be here to be a witness of all living tissues that was once here. And I definitely agree on the difficult times and how we can not continue our lives around the world the way we are going right now...bottom lines as you mentioned once again"...we will survive and hopefully bein to make a better world for everyone." I AGREE THERE MR. or Madam

What say I? I say that with all of the wars, the nuclear bombs which unfortunately had to be used, all the volcano eruptions and other natural phenomena, that this world isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Not even man's doings can do anything to drastically change the planet. Before you jump down my throat, let me just say that I don't think we should go around purposefully spilling junk into the water supplies and all that. That's just really stupid. What I'm getting at is that man's daily activities (driving, going to restaurants, the use of gas and oil) is nowhere near to being the catastrophes that these junk scientists are trying to make them out to be. So...as a famous lion, warthog, and meerkat once sang: "Hakuna matata!"

I definitely dont think the world is going to end on 2012. That is a mayan concept, only God knows when that will happen. I believe it will end eventually but even in the Bible it says the angels dont even know when that will happen so how are we supposed to know?

Obviously, I would have to agree with you, the answer is NO. The whole 2012 story was cooked up by different media in order to gain attendtion. The ending month of 2012 was the end of the Maya calander. It has no other special meaning. Many people believe that the last month of 2012 would be the start of the End. This is not the first time people believed in this kind of stuff, there is the 'Year 2000 Doomsday' which obviously did not happen. We are already living in 2009. Another fact to add on: There is also this myth theroy that planet 'X' or otherwise labeled as planet Nibulu would crash into Earth as the orbit occurs afew thousands years. But people did not really stop to think. If planet 'X' really had such a orbit, would Earth really still survive till today? Of course not. Earth has already lasted more than millions of years and there is no such crash. In conclusion, the 2012 theroy is a hoax. Nothing is going to happen on the last month of 2012. It is just going to be a another normal office day where you wake up at 7am eat your breakfast and prepare for work / school.

Anything can happen but in all likelihood it will be just another day. The Bible also foretells an "end of the world" but that is welcomed as it is not the planet that will end but wickedness and wicked ones. It says we are living near to that day but it does not give a specific day and an hour. It tells us to stay awake and keep on the watch.

The world will not end in 2012, because Jesus in not yet resurrected to Earth bringing peace to the world. If the end of the world happens, it will not because of just some giant asteroid hitting the earth, the hold universe including the black holes and galaxies will collapse, the stars burn out and planets hitting each other. When the end of the world happens, at the same time the end of the universe will happen. Then, there ill be judgment day, where people will be judge to go to Heaven or Hell.
