I mean there is nothing prettier than viewing the stars on a dark night with a lover in knee length grass ,offcourse you woudld be lying down in it so it wouldnt matter ,at least that is what I am told. There are some people who can even tell constellations ,the big dipper ,little dipper otion etc. So when was the last time you went star gazing?

Yes, there was a time that I did it with my girlfriend. It is really nice and very romantic as well as very relaxing. Well, I am already married now and I guess it would be great to do the same again.. star gaze with my ex girlfriend, consdiring that she is now my wife... It would be great to bring the memories back again... I will surely try it out again. Thanks for this post. I just found a perfect plan to do this next weekend.

I never star gaze. I think it has to do with me being nearsighted. I can see the big dipper but the rest I can't see very well. I prefer to gaze at a full moon. that is big enough to see. It is so beautiful.

We have done that right in our own back yard. It was my hubby's idea. We went out on the back porch to gaze at the moon. It was actually a romantic thing.

I don't remember when I went star gazing last, but I love looking up at the sky on a clear night and you can see all the stars shining bright. I can tell the big dipper and the little dipper but thats it, I used to be able to tell what the others are when I was still in school but I forgot now been too long ago..haha.

Sounds like fun. About the knee high grass with a lover. Hopefully a blanket too. The star gazing sounds fun too. Only im inside at night. Especially now because its a little chilly at nights now. I also dont own a car. Im a little scared about the two legged animals that rome our streets at night. I do some star gazing on my sims game. LOL!!!

There are still the 2 legged animasls. They usually travel in numbers. Like gangs and pick on people that never do anything to them. I would not venture out alone.

I am very interested in astronomy. When i went to Muscat in 1983 for a job i bought a refractor telescope and binoculars too since there were clear skies there. I also bought books on astronomy and had become fairly conversant in identifying the various constellations. I set up my observatory in my friends camp quarters which was 45 km from the main city and would drive there during the weekend along with my friends and spend the night stargazing with the telescope. I also saw Halleys Comet which came closest to the Earth on 14th Apr 1986. This went on for 4 years after which i returned to my home country and city and also brought my telescope with me. Then every night i used to watch the night sky sitting upto midnight on the balcony of my home. However in 1990 the city authorities changed the street lighting by replacing the white color streetlamps with golden color lighting which left the sky bright and unfit for skygazing. then pollution also made the skies look dirty and so the stars were not visible anymore. I then sold the scope and gave up stargazing. So my last viewing was probably in 1990.

hi ronnyb, i wish i could and it is a better view if done at the top of the mountain, I do it most of the times during my younger days as i feel relax just watching the moonlit night, then count the stars or just seeing the big dipper or small dipper and other star constellation. the dark nights gives calm and inner peace. it just gives of a strange feelings. though, it is funny sometimes when i do look at midnight sky hoping to see some UFO though I have seen few objects but could not guarantee if is really an alien ship.lol..

You are one heck of a guy. I say that as a compliment. You do come up with good questions. Well, I did that in my younger days. I didn't try finding out which is which star or constellation. I would just dream gazing at the stars. Those were the days.

I don't go out solely for the purpose of star gazing, but when I am out at night when there are star out I do look up at them. My daughter likes to look at the stars and the moon while she is out as well.

Hi, ronnyb. I don't go out star gazing. I have looked towards the sky a couple of times to see if I could make out the stars. But I was unable to see anything exciting. I may go out one day when I can get the chance. I think that it would be romantic to go with my husband.

Whoa, the place I live is so bright at night that I can barely see any starts. Sometimes I like to lay on the floor and watch the sky. It is very pretty. But I don't really go to specific places like observatories to view starts.

I know during the summer I like to look up in the stars since I love space and find it so fascinating. Some times during the summer or when its warm at night time I like to go out side in my car with the top down and the seat leaned back listen to music and just look up at the sky. I wish I could get a nice telescope would love to view the planets would be so cool.
