I don't intend to join the Christmas party at work every year

At work, the human resouce department just issued the invitation to every employee the annual Christmas party will be held at 12 / 11, the coming Friday, after work at the butterfly hotel near my workplace. I simply marked "Not be able to attend". Because I have to work part time every weekend, it is money - making time. Anyway, I won't attend the party even though I don't have to work at night, because I simply too tired to attend any of those social event, except it is extremely mandatory. Although a couple of my coworkers encouraged me to attend, but I refused it. Maybe I am not the socialize type of person. Any, have a nice Christmas to everyone here. Do you attend to your Christmas party at work?

Hi Clorissa! You are right! maybe you are not socialize type of person. But its okay though. I love going to Christmas party at work every year. I love parties a lot. I only have one regular job so far and I attended its Christmas party last year, since I know it will only happen once a year. Our theme was the elements of the world. So you can choose whatever you like in those four -water, earth, wind and fire. I had ordered a casual dress that time in Ebay but never arrived on date because of the delay since it was Holiday season. I ended up buying a casual dress in a mall instead.

For me, because it is the money making during the weekend, I simply couldn't attend those parties. It is not that I don't want to go, but I just don't want to see those faces at my precious weekend. They are not evil, but we have seen each other every single day, that is enough.

I agree you can see them everyday but only at work and you are not busy. I think that's the only time you can go to parties and meet people at different departments. But since you are making money on the weekends, its better for you not to go then. Money is still more important to you, that's what I see. And I noticed that you are happy doing it, so don't be confuse dear.

Actually, from I saw at work, some people simply kissing b*tt there. And I simply don't have common topics with those people. All I can do just avoid them, and I probably ending up sitting with a few people over there. Not much of blast, better get online in mylot, or do something else to have my own blast that night.

Last year, I joined my colleagues for the annual Christmas meal but, this year we dont seem to have one...which is a shame as its a good excuse for me to have a night out (I've only had 2 since last Christmas)

These sot of social gatherings are not to everyone's taste. It usually depends on where its being held and what sort of function it is whether I'll go.

You know what, I never participate in any of those parties at work. Even someone's birthday at work, we celebrate it at the place of work, I just go out and sitting my car having my own time on reading some magazines or newspaper. It would be better for me to be alone.

I used to work at a state office. They had a big office Christmas party every year. I was told it would be in my best interest to attend. I was also told how the parties got out of hand, too. I worked there for 7 years and never attended a party. The group that I was in didn't attend the parties either. We were treated differently too because we didn't attend. Merry Christmas and Happy Mylotting

Hi clorissa, it depends really if it would benefit you to go in your work capacity or not but if its just for socialising then one already spends enough time with the people one works with, and knowing some of your accident prone co-workers you'd likey just spend most of the evening babysitting one of them in the ER.
