Something good happened at my house

My Hubby, who is a hang em, bomb em, kind of guy opened his mouth and out came the following, "I believe that we have to have a new kind of order in the country, instead of political correct, we must begin to become socially correct, meaning kindness to all." Was this a miracle? Did an angel come and sit on his shoulder? I don't care what happened it was the very best present I could have, I knew he had this in him it just took 74 years to come to the outside so that he could express it. But now I know he said this and he knows he said this so there is no going back to the old solutions. What a blessing for all, he has a very large following and chats with people all over the world, I just hope this new approach will show through. I guess you could say old dogs can learn new tricks.

Kindness to all is something I can really get behind and support! That doesn't mean we should be wimpy doormats but if everyone would take that attitude this earth would be a paradise. Give your husband a hug for me!

I usually see the opposite. The older they grow the more stiffer their views. But if your husband has changed his views and realized something at 74, it means he is always willing to change and look for new answers to life. That's great... :)

It must be the internet that has penetrated his mind and created a social space which has empowered him to utter such meaningful words. It comes as no surprise as many rusty minds has been polished by the power of the internet. Since he has large followings in the chatroom, it may be that he has been inspired by his chatmates. It is never too late to learn new tricks to keep our sanity intact.

Good to know that an old dog can still be trained! (LOL) That was a beautiful comment from your husband! What a simple rule to live by which could change the world if we all applied it! The fact that he has this new outlook and has the opportunity to influence so many others through the Internet is a blessing and I agree that it is one of the best gifts he could have given you for Christmas! We should take a leaf out of his book and be open to positive change...

Good for him! I've had all the political correctness I can take, too...knowing who wants to be called and when?? And then some in a group want it and some want something else. Pfffft! Kindness to all pretty darned well should cover it all.

That's great and now all we need to do is teach the same thing to all the other old dogs!!!

Wow. For someone to take so long and change their views on things is tremendous! It shows what this world is really coming to, when normally "answers by violence" people start saying enough is enough, then we really need to question the way things are done.
Things do need to be changed, like, yesterday.
I feel sad to even have to raise children now a days.
It is good to hear that you are so excited what the hubs said. Sometimes, the things they say can just throw us over the loop.
p.s. Old dogs can learn new tricks :)

Raising children can be very difficult, try always to look on the bright side, because of the increased communication around the world your children can be the best generation ever to face what life brings. We are each born when our time comes and the life we lead is what we need to grow in spirit. Know this and be glad and encouraging.
